Quest for the Crown (medieval, OOC, COMPLETED)

Postby Damak Var » Fri Nov 30, 2012 2:56 am

We are on Part 2 now. See that instead.

I was in a Game of Thrones style RP that just kind of died off so I want to reboot it. Also started reading the books so I took an interest to it. This is pretty much a knockoff of that RP and Game of Thrones but we create our own world.

Map of Firania's Forests

Derria is an ancient land with histories that go back thousands of years. In days of old the land was composed of a patchwork of kingdoms, counties, and even tribes that warred among each other constantly. It is referred to as the Age of Darkness, where there was no respite against the blood lust of men. Yet all it took was one great man to unite the land. Vedrion the Great, who marched and conquered all one by one and established the great House of Wallstryn which has ruled over Derria ever since from the great city of Avantine. Hundreds of years later and every man from beggar to noble still knows his name. His descendant, King Telvion III sits on the throne. But gone is the great king's of old. Telvion III is mad. Once he gathered a small army and declared war on the ocean. Ordering his troops to attack the water. Now he believes himself to be made of glass and easily shattered. Ever fearing for his life, the King is excessively paranoid. He has put many to death to try and ease his fear.

The Wallstryns have always been a formidable house with great Kings to good Kings. The old Kings have always been able to keep the realm from falling apart and kept the intrigues of the court at bay. Whether through cunning or sheer brutality. This was until the reign of Telvion II, a weakling who did much to wear away the realms stability. With his son Telvion III no longer partaking in matters of state this deterioration has only magnified. Across the realm a mockery is made of the King's madness. The members of the court and the great houses grow ambitious. The scheming of crown's subjects is now greater than ever. The peace is fragile at best.

Yet the Kingdom is not without hope. Telvion III's first son and heir to the throne, Prince Galvion, dubbed Galvion the Gallant by the people is the very symbol of chivalry in Derria. The young handsome prince is a tournament champion and extremely popular among the very people who gave him his name. Troubadours sing his praises and the women of the realm moon over his very appearance. Some even say he is Vedrion the Great reborn. The young prince has proven himself as a battlefield commander and an administrator. As soon as he was old enough he began participating in the governing of the Kingdom making monumental strides to keep the peace and undoing the damage done by his father and grandfather. As well as easing his father's madness which is no small task.

Princess Charlia, his sister, is held as one of the most beautiful women in Derria and assists her brother with the administration of the kingdom. She has proven herself to be an excellent diplomat even without her stunning appearance.

Finally Prince Jestrion, the Prince's young brother is yet a teenager but already has the markings of his older brother.

The quest for the crown begins.

In this RP you will be controlling a noble house and its members in the Kingdom of Derria. There are Great Houses and lesser houses as well as positions of court that need to be filled. Court is a rats nest of intrigue and scheming. There are also many court position that need to be filled. I also mention that like in GoT, magic does exist but is extremely uncommon and many don't believe in it. Let the backstabbing begin.

Lord: Head of a Great House, owes fealty to the King. Owns large region.
Earl, Count, Baron: Head of a lesser house, must be a vassal to a Great House. All are held equally in ranking but Earls hold more land/wealth than Counts, and Counts more than Barons. Same goes for military sizes. Barons do not have castles.
Knight: May be a hedge knight, a knight to a Baron, Count, or Lord. Owns at most a manor or keep. May have a small company of men at arms.

High Magister: Like Hand of the King from GoT. Head of the High Magistracy. Answerable to King Telvion III and Prince Galvion.

High Magistracy Positions, the High Magistracy governs the Kingdom and is answerable to King Telvion III and Prince Galvion who regularly sits in on their meetings.
-Coinmaster: Deals with the finances of the kingdom. Overseas the budget and collection of taxes.
-High Constable: Administration of Justice and advising the King and High Magister on laws.
-Master of Daggers: Head of spies and assassins, provides intelligence to the High Magistracy and the King.
-Marshal of Derria: Coordinates logistical aspect of the armies. Provides advise to the High Magistracy and King on military matters. May be given command of armies.
-High Priest: Head of the Church of the Paragon, the dominant religion of Derria. Spreads propaganda through the Church. The priest cannot be married but can be member of a house.
-High Chamberlain: Administration of communications (ravens) of the council, farming, food, cisterns, drains, buildings, construction, health, and overall day-to-day of the Kingdom. Knowledgeable in history, science and medicine. Head of the Council of Chamberlains.

The Council of Chamberlains is a council which act as day to day administrators and advisers. They vote on all laws proposed by the High Magistracy though they can be overruled by the King. There are seven positions, six open. Princess Charlia sits on the Council of Chamberlains.

The Silver Guard is composed of 13 knights who are sworn to protect the King and the royal family. It is a most honorable order composed of some of the greatest knights in Derria who's vows are taken for life. In addition to this all member of the Silver Guard must forsake their claims to any holdings of land and titles besides being a Knight. They are called the Silver Guard for their shining armor and capes that they wear.
-Commander of the Silver Guard- self explanatory, answers only to members of the Royal family.
-Up to another 12 members slots open. Rest will be filled with npcs.

The main religion of Derria is the Church of the Paragon. Whoever takes the High Priest position can makeup whatever the hell this is as they go. Though the Church does not have as much power like it did in medieval Europe. The old religion is just dubbed "Spirit Worship" and is a minority religion with parallels to paganism. I'll let one great house and their region take this religion kinda like the Starks if they want. But its up to you to make up whatever the hell it is. Just add if you want to do so in notes on your app. Many lesser houses can take this religion too, but you have to be vassal to the Great House that dubs it as their religion.

1. General RP Etiquette
2. Stick to the medieval/GoT theme
3. If you are a great house remember that your armies are feudal armies. Look up what that means.
4. No gunpowder
5. The religion of the land is the Church of the Paragon (though it won't be RPed greatly), or "Spirit Worship" should you choose that. Only one great house though.
6. Army sizes when we RP are as follows: 50,000 max for each Great House including their vassals, Earls-10000, Counts-4000, Barons-1000, Landed Knights-100. Remember these are all maximums
7. Magic is uncommon in this world but I'll allow you to do something magical if you clear it with me first.
8. While this RP has a Game of Thrones feel, reading GoT or watching the show is not a requirement for this RP. Though I highly encourage it because both the show and books are awesome!

Name of House: Wallstryn
Banner of House (describe or post a picture): Silver eagle on a green background.
Brief Description of House: The Wallstryns are an ever powerful house who have ruled over Derria for hundreds of years. It was Vedrion the Great who first united the Kingdom who's name shall be forever etched into the annals of history. Though the Wallstryns still command respect throughout the land, the reign of Telvion II and III has done much to deteriorate their standing. The Wallstryns still have their immense wealth, suitable lands, and formidable armies which makes them an ever present threat. Even if the madness of King Telvion III has many questioning the House's strength and legitimacy.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Not applicable
Head of House (name, age, and sex): King Telvion III
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Royalty
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to: Nobody
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): King Telvion III ( age 51)ascended to the throne at the age of 34 when Telvion II died of some unknown disease. His early rule can be described mediocre at best. Though as he aged, King Telvion III slipped further and further into madness. Once declaring war on the ocean and ordering his soldiers to attack the water. Now he believes he is made of glass. The King is overly worried about his own mortality and paranoid in his late years. He hardly ever involves himself in matters of state anymore. The King does trust in his son Galvion however to rule in his place.

Telvion is a tall man, grey hair cropped short with a beard. Though not many have even seen him before.
Relevant House Members (names, age, sex, relation to head of house): Prince Galvion, 23, Male, First son of Telvion III
Princess Charlia, 18, Female, daughter of Telvion III
Prince Jestrion, 16, Male, second son of Telvion III
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: Described enough up top. Black haired, fair skin, tall, attractive for the most part.
Name of the Land they rule over: The Crownlands
Geography: Warm, fertile, hills and meadows, a few forests.
Desired Position (can ask for more than one position, but only one position per family member): The High Magister must be a member of a Great House, and preferably the head): n/a
RP sample (1-3): Sorry, I just don't like RPing with people who post too short, are too ridiculous, or have bad writing skills. I also want this to be a high quality RP.

Accepted Applications
Name of House: House of Vélun
Name of House: House of Vélun
Brief Description of House: The Great House of Vélun is a relatively new addition to the Kingdom, having been absorbed solely twenty-five years ago as a Grand Duchy after a series of agreements were signed between the contemporary King and the then Duke of Vélun. It is in all other respects an old house; some liberalism in it's nature has kept the bloodline untainted by impurities of imbreeding. Today, the house's line is greatly reduced, with two remaining of the house.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Allied. While being known for a streak of liberalism and independence, the concept of honor and allegiance has never been forgotten by Vélun, who are in debt to the Wallstryns for rising the Grand Duchy up to their present position. Despite their reservations over King Telvion III, the Lord of Vélun is perfectly aware that the real rulers have always been Prince Galvion and Princess Charlia, who he has always had deep affections for and perhaps more for the Princess Charlia, who appears so much like his past wife in his mind. Unfortunately, the younger brother of Lord Nysander does not feel this way, believing that his brother's actions leads all of Velunia to doom.
Head of House: Nysander of Vélun (M, 29)
Nobility Ranking: Lord
Brief Description of Head of House: Nysander of Vélun is a man beyond his years. Having lost his wife and child just a year ago to sickness and a brother that countermands him at every turn, he has become a man of stone and an icy visage. Despite this, he has kept a small presence at Court, instead sending Julius (his younger brother and a man much more interested in money) to be Coinmaster while he is left to the maintenance of Velunia without the constant annoyance that is his brother. What few people know is the intelligence and reservoir of strength that exists behind the veil.
Relevant House Members: Lord Nysander of Vélun, Julius of Vélun (M, 25)
Brief Description of other House Member: Julius (M, 25) is the current Coinmaster of the realm and is incredibly qualified for his position. With a head for mathematics, figures, and numbers he is a devious and conniving character who has always been resentful of his older brother. It stems from the love he once had for Nysander's dead wife, whom he had courted zealously when younger but had been spurned (or so he thinks).
Name of the Land they rule over: The Grand Duchy of Vélunia
Geography: Vélunia is a coastal province, at the heart of which lies the delta of a great river; sprawling green farmlands make way for great brick-lined port cities. By necessity, due to it's flat and uneasy to defend nature, the people of Vélunia have become renowned as brick-workers, metalworkers, and mercenaries, and artillerists, and the province operates many ships from which their ancient Priviledges stem.
Desired Position: 1)Coinmaster

Name of House: Delacroix
Banner of House: A black crow (profile view) in a blue field, with black wings on the side and a blue drape with the house motto: Order, Strength, Power.

Brief Description of House: The Delacroix are a family of power and traditions. The Dukes of the Crow, as many called them this way, controlled the city of Firania and all the commerce passed trough the ports, becoming quickly rich merchants and owner of a trade fleet (comprehending several warships for defense of their trade). Due to their financial and sea power, they managed to obtain the control of many strong mercenaries who entered the military of the kingdom, opening their way to the position of Commander and kinda rulers of the Silver Guard, with more influence than the royal family itself on it.

Head of House : Hector Delacroix, 32; Silver hairs, brown eyes, slim, rather young for his age.
Nobility Ranking : Lord
Brief Description of Head of House : Born and raised by his father, he considers the kind a fool but has learned from his father to respect and be loyal to him. Of course some of the learned thing begun to be forgot once the father went ill, as he considers the king a fool and watches over the first son so to find a way to get rid of him. He doesn't hide to have an interest for the princess, although he consider his sister even more beautiful, and works a lot to influence the little prince to be 'friendly' to him.
Trained like a true Delacroix, Hector shows always respect in your front and plotting in your back. He however shows the first personality a lot more, trying to cut the rumors that the Delacroix are all evil.

Relevant House Members: Julius Delacroix, father, 56; Robert Delacroix, brother, 26; Lucia Delacroix, sister, 24; Jonathan Delacroix, brother 12.

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
Julius Delacroix: completely debilitated by an horrible disease, he decided to transfer the power to his first son, being too weak to continue guiding the family.
Robert Delacroix: he's the commander of the Delacroix fleet and, differently from his brothers, he shows only his cruel side as an harsh commander. As a member of the Silver Guard, he's also very loyal to his brother, and definitely one of the strongest warrior of the kingdom.
Lucia Delacroix: a beautiful maiden, considered by the member of her house and some man even superior to the princess, but the family knows there is a viper behind that face. He's interested in the adult prince, so he could use him like a puppet. He's in fiery competition with the princess.
Jonathan Delacroix: the younger of the family, Jonathan is actually the more friendly and trustworthy of them all, although quite the pest. It's incredible how the Delacroix can look so cruel and yet shows so much love between themselves, especially with him. He's however used as one of the friends of the younger prince to get closer to him.

Name of the Land they rule over: Firania
Geography: Typical land facing the sea, with great forest and plains behind it.
Desired Position:
Julius - Ex-Commander of the Silver guards.
Hector - Commander of the Silver guards.
Robert - Member of the Silver guards.

Name of House: Helyanwë
Banner of House (describe or post a picture):

Variations in green and blue.

Brief Description of House: Founded by Illithri Helyanwe millenium ago, they are an old family. As they prospered, their fiefdom grew. Soon, it encompassed a large swathe of the the Northern Forests. They built their mansion of a keep, more a small citadel, in the center of their realm. Naming it Ellesmera, after Alandil's wife, it stands proudly. One of the oldest, the House of Nenharma goes far back to even before King Telinyan Helyanwe swore fealty to the Kings of Old. Members of the house of Nenharma have often served the king in one way or the other. Some from High Chamberlain to the King's squire. Nenharma have a close relationship toward the Royal family and though for better or for worse stand by the current King Telvion III. They are fiercely loyal and will lay down their lives to keep the peace of the kingdom.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Fiercely loyal. On the topic of Telvion III's madness, they are neutral and will still serve him be he mad or sane.

Head of House (name, age, and sex): Alandil Helyanwë (Male, 56)
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Alandil Helyanwe is the current Lord over Alanthi. Age is becoming to lay its hands on him. He is not as spry as he once was, but his mind is as sharp as a finely hewn dagger. He often dresses in black robes, with a golden chain with the sun and moon combined in one. He has a silver enameled ring with a large emerald. His once striking blonde hair now grows ashen each passing year. He has bright forest green eyes as all Helyanwes do. He is lean and tall. Not bulky or muscular in appearance. Lord Alandil is a just and fair ruler, though he rules harshly doing anything to keep the peace. The kingdom's citizens love him and only those against the Telvion III find quarrel with the Lord.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex): Elendil Helyanwe (daughter, 27, Female), Artanis Helyanwe (half-elf son, youngest, 18, Male), Goldradir Helyanwe (son, eldest, 32)
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
Elendil Helyanwe- Young, accomplished ranger in the Ranger Corp of Alanthi. She thrives on stealth and loves politics. She is known in Alanthi as Silvertongue. She has long blonde hair and sharp green eyes. She wears a silver clasp to hold her green cloak with the Helyanwe insignia. She is cold and calculating, not caring for anyone other than the Royal family and her kin. Prefers the use of daggers and bows. Holds her brother Artanis in high confidence.
Artanis Helyanwe- the youngest, he is an accomplished swordsman, agile and quick. He however has brown hair with only slight traces of blond with green eyes. He like all male members of the house of Helyanwe wear a silver emerald ring engraved with the house motto. Sharing his father's qualities, Artanis is tall and lean, but well built. Holds his sister highly, and is fiercely loyal to the Royal family.
Goldradir Helyanwe- The oldest and heir to the Kingdom of Alanthi, he attends to his father learning everything he can from him. He tends to be harsher and more distant however. He is a decent swordsman, but prefers strategically leading troops than fighting himself. He like all Helyanwes serve the Royal house and King Tevion III loyally.
Esmeralda Helyanwe- Working on her for later

Name of the Land they rule over: The Kingdom of Alanthi
Geography: Large Lush forests, rolling plains, many rivers, no mountains but several hills.

Desired Position (Can ask for more than one position, but only one position per family member. List three in order of preference. The High Magister must be a member of a Great House, and preferably the head): example.
Elendil Helyanwe-1)Misstress of Daggers 2)Silver Guardsman 3) Lady-in-waiting to the Princess
Artanis Helyanwe- 1)Silver Guardsman 2) Knight of the Royal House 3)Chamberlain
Goldradir Helyanwe 1) Personal Aide to Telvion III 2) Commander/ Deputy of the City Watch 3) High Constable

Notes (anything else you want to add): Will be making up more chaacters as I go along and may come back and add them in as we progress...

Name of House: House Kazanowski

Banner of House: Roaring bears head (profile) on red background.

Brief Description of House: Once the undisputed lords and rulers of the free kingdom of Vorzov before their nation was subjugated by the Wallstyn kings. House Kazanowski is of truly ancient blood, having ruled Vorzov for centuries before Dymitr VI, The King who knelt, finally offred his crown up to Vedrion the Great after the Vorzovian army was completely destroyed in the Battle of the Snowy Ford. House Kazanowski can trace itself far back into the Age of Darkness. The Kazanowskis are a wealthy, powerful and extremly proud family, upholdig customs and traditions native to Vorzov that predate the founding of the Wallstryn throne. Some even belive that they still dream of the crown they once held...

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Hostile beneath a mask of submission, still begrudging their subjugation to the Wallstryn throne.

Head of House: Lord Mikhal Kazanowski (M, 38)

Nobility Ranking: Lord.

If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer):

Brief Description of Head of House: Lord Mikhal Serwacy Kazanowski rules the lands of Vorzov with the hard but fair hand with which his father ruled before him. Some might call him a tyrant, while other say simply a ruler who belives that order and discipline are neccessities if any land wishes to thrive and prosper. Lord Kazanowski may not be the most perfect example of chivalry in the kingdom, as he is a man capable of both showing great kindness to some, and at the same time great cruelty to others. He is a large, powerful man. The champion of several tournays. He has the typical sharp features, black hair and blue eyes of the Kazanowskis. His truest strengh however is as a statesman and strategist.

Beata Kazanowska: The oldest child and heiress of Vorzov. Taught first and formost the arts of rulership, stewardship and battle command, groomed by her father to one day become a capable lady and ruler over the domains of their house. Character Name: Head Priest Mariak, Church of the Paragon

Bio: Head Priest Mariak entered the Church of Paragon at a young age although none know of his birth parents or even his upbringing before the Church. The boy proved to be pious and devout, attributes common among priest but this boy burned with the flame of ambition and knew that he was destined for great things within the Church. As a teenager the boy began working towards his goal of becoming Head Priest as he quickly raised through the ranks of the Church and began traveling throughout the Kingdom performing acts that many swear to be miracles earned him fame and admiration from nobles and commoners alike. As a young man with his name known throughout the Church and Kingdom, he seized the opportunity he had been seeking with the death of the Head Priest and being named as the successor to the Office of the Head Priest. Although only 25 and criticized for being granted the blessing of such a office, he managed to silence such talk as he grew to become a power within the Church that no recent Head Priest could be called his greater.

Mariak sees the Church as the Paragon's gift to mankind and seeks to improve the common peoples life's and ease their burdens. While the Church is not as powerful as Mariak would wish, it is seen as a organization that can easily change public opinion and even influence the commoners, such is a power of Propaganda.

Organization: Church of the Paragon

Banner of House (describe or post a picture): A Burning Star on a White Banner

Brief Description of Church of Paragon: The Church started out as a small gathering of men and woman who believed that they had received visions from the Supreme and True Deity Paragon. These men and women began to preach the message of Paragon as their numbers grew so did their influence on the land. These years were known as the Years of Atonement which finally led to Burning Star Crusade.

The Burning Star Crusade began at first as a few minor religious clashes with the Spirit Worshipers but eventually elasticated into a bloody Religious War. Due to numbers and their religious fanaticism, the Church gained the upper hand and began driving the Spirit Worshiper's to hiding. The Head Priest at that time felt a urge to follow the Brightest Burning Star in the Sky (North Star), the Head Priest led his force of fanatics to a march that led them to a Great Lake with a medium sized island in the Middle. This Island was the Center of the Spirit Worshipers point of Religion. As the Sun fell and night fell around them the Fanatics attacked the Island slaughtering every man, woman, and child they could find on the island. As they chopped down every tree and tore down the crude stone and wood temples. As their acts of violence was drawing to its end, a bright light filled the island, causing the Head Priest and the Fanatics to go blind as their heard the Voice of the Paragon. Such was the price to see the glory of Paragon as they listened in rapture to the voice of their God, Paragon told his followers to build a city so that he would have a throne to sit on when he returned to the World to bless his followers with his presence and bring Heaven to the World and banish the darkness that was death.

As the years passed the island became the Center of the Church and a city was established to appease Paragon so that they could fulfill their task. The largest Temple in the Kingdom stands on that Island as it's towers reach towards the Heavens attempting to touch the Glory of Paragon. The Island is connected with a large stone bridge to the main land, its walls have never been breached for no army has touched the Religious City of Paragon. The Religious City of Paragon is defended by a order of men that are called, the Order of Paragon which numbers 500 men guards the city.

Today the City still stands under the rule and guidance of the Church, as Head Priest Mariam has restored the majority of the City to its former glory and preaches daily to crowds of pilgrims that flock to the city from the surrounding lands.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Somewhat Neutral but many whisper that the King is cursed by Paragon for a unknown reason.

Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Members of the Church forsake titles, lands, and even their names for a priest must give up all resemblances of his or her formal life to better serve the will of the Paragon.

Name of the Land they rule over: City State of Paragon

Geography: A City State that stretches across a medium sized island in the middle of a Great Lake, the City State is connect to the main land with a large bridge.

Desired Position Head Priest

Name of House: House Lorelliere

Brief Description of House: The House Lorelliere is amongst the most ancient families in Derria. Originally the royal family of a small principality, their realm was brutally conquered by Vedrion the Great, and House Lorelliere had no choice but to pledge allegiance to the kingdom or losing their status as nobles. For several centuries, the Lorellieres have possessed almost a monopoly over sea trade, after shamelessly sinking the merchant fleets of most of their competition and blackmailing House Wallstryn into relinquishing their own. The latter move has been regarded by scholars as the most humilliating non-military defeat in House Wallstryn's otherwise long and prestigious history.
However, not long ago, after many diplomatic and military defeats in a merchant war against House Delacroix, Leon the Careless was forced to forsake his status as Lord, and House Lorelliere's status as a Great House, and become vassals of House Delacroix.
House Lorelliere's greatest strengths are their fleet and wealth, both of which have constantly given the House's leaders much leverage in Derrian politics, even if their colonial wars in barbaric lands have put a heavy strain on their treasury and the close watch of House Wallstryn and their Lord, Hector of House Delacroix, over their fleet forces them to make their moves as legitimate and non-threatening as possible.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: While a relationship of mutual dependency between both Houses has developed over the years, much resentment still remains over the Lorellieres' lost sovereignity. In the innermost circles of House Lorelliere, plans have constantly been made to regain their independence or even take over all of Derria. However, the leaders of the House have always held great respect for the role House Wallstryn plays in preserving peace, stability and unity in Derria, and publicly express nothing but a familiar fondness for the ruling House of the Kingdom.
Head of House: Seraphine Celeste of Lorelliere and Lonval (Male, 24)
Nobility Ranking: Earl
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to: Delacroix
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Seraphine Celeste was the son-in-law of Leon the Careless, Lord of House Lorelliere, and husband to Lisette the Abandoned. Born to Maurice, the Count of Lonval who was butchered alongside most of his subjects by House Wallstryn and House Delacroix, the name of cunning young Seraphine Celeste was heard all over Derria after Leon the Careless suspiciously drowned while sailing with him to Agrasca. Soon afterwards, Seraphine Celeste annulled his marriage to Lisette and sent her off to one of the House's far away colonies, never to be heard of again. All the while, Seraphine Celeste convinced his three siblings-in-law, whom he had befriended over time, to let him claim Leopold's place as the Lord of the House.
Since that day, Seraphine Celeste has used the House's bountiful resources build up his defenses and buy enough allies and titles to earn a strong seat in the bargaining table with other Houses. All of this, he has done with this idea in his mind: avenge his family and humilliate all the noble houses of Derria.
Seraphine Celeste is a surprisingly kind-hearted, moralistic individual. He seldom indulges in the common vices of Derrian nobility, and he is intensely religious. While he has been known to be extremely manipulative and insidiously intelligent, he is not likely to be dishonorable towards individuals he respects. Seraphine Celeste has a particular distaste for war, having lived through the traumatizing horror of it in his childhood, and instead prefers more subtle machinations.

Relevant House Members: Lucrece of Lorelliere (22, Male), Giselle of Lorelliere and Morisot (29, Female), Cyril of Lorelliere (31, Male), Valentin of Lorelliere (26, Male), Melissa of Lorelliere (26), Beaumont of Lorelliere (24, Male)
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: Lucrece of Lorelliere is the youngest of Leon the Careless' children. While his older siblings have either worked as military leaders or merchants, Lucrece remains mostly an hedonistic diletante, traveling through the kingdom in search for nothing other than wine, food and women. His only redeeming quality is his extensive knowledge of the private lives and embarrassing secrets of Derrian nobility. His relationship with Seraphine Celeste, while close, has been hindered by Lucrece's vices.

Giselle of Lorelliere and Morisot, daughter of the Earl of House Morisot, is wife to Cyril of Lorelliere, the oldest of the Lorelliere siblings. Like her husband, she is a skilled merchant and politician, and she has worked alongside him, for the past few years, for the cause of House Lorelliere. It was her own cunning moves that made the House's near monopoly on trade absolute and definitive.

Cyril of Lorelliere is both the most respected and the most reserved of the Lorelliere siblings. While his allegiance to Seraphine Celeste has never been doubted, their personal relationship can only be described as the coldest in the family. Nonetheless, Cyril has never stopped pursuing the growth of his family's power. He is perhaps the most knowledgeable man in Derria when it comes to sea and ships, and is believed to be a very capable leader in times of war, if his experieces during his father's colonial wars are anything to go by.

Valentin of Lorelliere is Seraphine Celeste's closest friend, and was his most fundamental ally during his plot to take over House Lorelliere. Trained from early in his life in combat and military strategy, Valentin has become the leading characters of much of the local folklore, peasants believing him to be an almighty sword-wielding hero, after the tales of his exploits as a mere teenager in barbaric lands reached the land of House Lorelliere. For the past year, since Seraphine Celeste took control of the House, Valentin has been his most trusted general, leading his army and personal guards with devotion and great discipline.

Melissa of Lorelliere is Valentin's twin sister. While during most of her life she was quite oppressed by her rather puritan father, after Seraphine Celeste took control she found herself with a higher standing in her family. Seraphine Celeste decided to use Melissa and her self-taught, but massive knowledge of history, geography, mythology, philosophy and magic. Thus, she became his advisor and leading diplomat. Melissa and Seraphine Celeste have grown quite close as a result.

Beaumont or Lorelliere is the first member of the Lorelliere family to become a Silver Guardsman. Seraphine Celeste ordered him so with hopes that the clever and skilled soldier would be his "inside man" in the Silver Guard, providing him with secrets and resources he could use as leverage. The nature of the relationship between Beaumont and Seraphine Celeste has been the subject of many rumours and much speculation, and even prompted an investigation by the Church of the Paragon, after some peasants reported their belief that both men were "deviants" involved in a "blasphemous perversion".

Name of the Land they rule over: Îles de Perles
Geography: An archipelago north of Firania Delacroix, formed by seven relatively large islands and twelve smaller ones. The weather is cold, leaning towards temperate in the southernmost islands. The land is filled with snow-covered forests, frozen hills and lifeless tundra in the north, and small, fertile fields and resources-rich beaches in the south. House Lorelliere's seaside castle and port rests at the eastern shore of their realm's southernmost island, a small but heavily fortified piece of land on which the "floating" city of Kruventh stands.
Desired Position: Chamberlain (Giselle of Lorelliere and Morisot)
Chamberlain (Melissa of Lorelliere)
Silver Guardsman (Beaumont or Lorelliere)

Name of House: Bathel
Banner of House (describe or post a picture): A three-peaked mountain with a star over it.
Brief Description of House: House Bathel is a truly ancient house. In the days of darkness, from thousands upon thousands of years ago, the little mountain kingdom held off the constant outside attacks. Over a long time, the influence of Bathel began to spread farther and farther until it ruled the area known as the Burrowlands. It is so old that three castles have served as the house's seat, the first two having fallen to ruin by the battering of time. However, House Bathel has never been altogether strong. It does not command a very large army, and does not rule over very many lesser houses. They have never resisted an invasion from a greater enemy, for the simple reason that joining is easier than resisting. This is especially evident when they yielded to Viderion before his armies even reached the Burrowlands.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Doubtful, but still loyal.
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Cerdul Bathel, 55, male
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Cerdul is a shrewd man. He was never that great at weaponry and the art of killing, but a master with wit. Cerdul has never led men into battle, never even sent men to battle. If one does not do business with him, it would be easy to forget Cerdul Bathel. He is a very ordinary man, with the characteristic hight of the Bathels and greying hair.
Relevant House Members (names, age and sex): Marla, 47, female, Cerdul's wife. Basford, 34, male, Cerdul's son. Hektor, 25, male, Cerdul's son.
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: It is said that Cerdul and his wife think with one mind. Marla often gives orders with her husband's authority, and has his same wit and cunning. She is said to be very beautiful even in her old age. Basford is a strong warrior type, and castellan of the Bathfort. Hektor is a knight who often travels afar.
Name of the Land they rule over: Bathin, the Burrowlands
Geography: Bathin is the area within about five miles to the south of the lone mountain Sussur in the East Burrowlands, where the Bathfort stands. The land is lush compared to the rest of the Burrowlands, and to the North covered in chaparral. Mount Sussur is a short three-peaked mountain, with the highest peak reaching around 6,000 feet. The sides are steep, and the foothills do not extend for long. The Third Bathfort stands in the crotch between the lowest and highest peaks, with the Second Bathfort standing between the highest and second-highest peaks and the First Bathfort having stood in an unknown location in the foothills. The Second Bathfort is a ruin and the First Bathfort is most likely an overgrown pile of rubble by now.

The Burrowlands is a much more general area. It is composed of rolling hills and a few mountain ranges. Most of the land is either semi-desert(like the Mojave) or chaparral, with the very tip of the great southern desert in the bottom part(a recent addition)

Name of House: Aurenstein
Banner of House (describe or post a picture): A staple of five golden coins on a black banner
Brief Description of House:

The beginnings of House Aurenstein were humble. Very humble. The Aurenstein were merchants, fishermen and mercenaries. The family survived trough its flexibility. During wars, they sold... to both sides. They did in grain speculations, lent generous and made name as tax-collectors. Gradually, the family managed to buy her way in the rigid nobility of Derria. In order to ease some debts to the crown, House Aurenstein received a noble title, but in the eyes of other noble families they remain a bunch of jumped-up merchants. Filthy rich jumped-up merchants, that is. Nowadays, House Aurenstein continues to play an active role in the economic activities of Derria. But these activities are only a means to reach the ultimate goal of the House: to become a Great House.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Mostly opportunistic, altough the House is sworn to the crown, the Aurensteins are not very reliable vassals. They do however have a healthy fear for the king and the powers the Crown command

Head of House (name, age, and sex): Loran Gneiss of Aurenstein, Lord of Aurenstan
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Earl of Highclere (the nominal seat of House Aurenstein)
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): House Wallstryn

Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Loran is 25 years old, and still quite handsome for his age. He is a cunning, charming man with a silver tongue. Orginally second in line for the title, he learned the banking profession from his uncle. The death of his beloved sister Eleonora suddenly made him Earl of Highclere. Whilst Loran is not unskilled in ruling, he is not exactly trained in noble etiquette.
Relevant House Members (names, age and sex):
Lady Violet Häber, Dowager Countess of Highclere (65 years old)
Karl Gneis (40 years old)
Eleonora "Lily" Häber (15 years old)
Maximilian Gneiss (16 years old)
Ludwig Häber (55 years old)

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
- Lady Violet is the Dowager Countess of Highclere, she is the grandmother of Loran. She spends her days at the ancestral home of Aurenstein nagging at everybody
- Karl Gneis is Loran's uncle and a man with a gift for banking and commerce. He is selden seen at home, preferring to do business abroad.
-Eleonora and Maximilian are the youngest members of the family. They are tutored in Highclere and not often seen in the outside world.
- Ludwig Häber is Violet's cousin. He is a terrible dull man, but he is a gifted administrator and he has a certain strategic insight. He runs Highclere when Loran is not at home.

Name of the Land they rule over:
- Highclere Hall is the Family's seat, their lands are known collectively as the Clere Marches

Geography: Does not matter to me.
Desired Position : A Chamberlainship for Ludwig?

Name of House: Rhynarion

Banner of House:

Brief Description of House: Hose Rhynarion is young and quite modest, with few incomes or honors of which to boast. It was established by mercenaries who crossed the expansive seas to fight in the service of the king three or four generations past. As a reward for their efforts, the monarch gave the foreign soldiers the territories of Sathara. The first Vuzurgan, or Earl, was a man by the name of Cyrus, who had acted as the captain of the company prior to his promotion. He proved to be as capable a politician as he was an officer, securing the trust of his liege and integrating his former companions into the general population. His successors were far less able, and, since Cyrus, the House has deteriorated. This is, in part, the result to cultural differences, though poor management and a lack of vision has also exacerbated the problems intrinsic in the governing of a group of people. For example, Cyrus tolerated the Church of the Paragon and championed religious and linguistic pluralism, while his descendants have been more inclined to alienate the traditional clergy in favor of their own deities and customs. It is also not unheard of for the Sathar to launch brutal raids against their neighbors or to rebel outright against their noble masters. They are a free-spirited and fierce people, and much of that is epitomized by House Rhynarion. Although they lack prestige, incomes, or substantial political clout, Sathara has the distinction of breeding the finest horses in the realm. Furthermore, most of their subjects can sit a saddle as easily as their neighbors might walk. This could prove instrumental to a wise Vuzurgan.

Head of House: Eskandar Rhynarion, 53, Male

Nobility Ranking: Vuzurgan (Earl)

Liege Lord: Lord Mikhal Kazanowski

Brief Description of Head of House: The current Vuzurgan of Sathara, Eskandar Rhynarion, is the great grandson of Cyrus Rhynarion. He is incompetent, gluttonous, and generous to a fault. Few of the aristocrats in the realm respect or fear him partially due to his refusal to address insolence with any degree of severity and partially as a result of his marriage to a commoner. The wife in question engaged in numerous extramarital affairs, shaming her lordly husband in the eyes of his subjects and his peers, and is presently estranged. Eskandar loves his three children above all other things in the world. His desire to protect them has led him to be wary of conflicts and loathe to march at the call of his Lord. This has created considerable friction between the Vuzurgan and his liege, Mikhal Kazanowski, which serves only to damage his reputation further. Despite this, he does attempt to preserve some semblance of honor, treating guests with utmost courtesy, obeying his superiors in civil matters, and ignoring insults against his family's name. He is olive-skinned, dark of hair, and large of belly. Additionally, he speaks with a slight stutter and fidgets compulsively. It cannot, however, be said that the man wants for honor or gentleness.

Relevant House Members:

Major Characters
• Remus Rhynarion, 25, Male, Son to Eskandar
- A slender, graceful man with the dark eyes and long, dark hair common to the Sathar. He is sickly and effete, prefering books or soft music to the cacophony of battle, much to the chagrin of his father's subjects. Despite this, Remus is intelligent and ambitious. This, together with his clandestine dislike of Kazanowski, has led him to reorganize the military of Sathara into a more effective and modern force. Furthermore, he schemes to restore the good name of the family so that his father might pass with an inkling of the respect he actually deserves. Most nobles seem to distrust him.

• Kaspar Rhynarion, 19, Male, Son to Eskandar
- Strong, comely, and daring, Kaspar Rhynarion is perhaps the most admired member of his family. He boasts a light olive complexion and a head of raven curls. His eyes are as blue as the sky amidst a storm. Unlike his brother, he often acts in a compulsive or rash manner, taking immediate offense at remarks levelled against his father or his people. The common people and soldiers alike adore him because of his actions as the official commander of the Sathar's armies. Kaspar is equally skilled with the bow or the lance, and is a masterful rider. He values the love of his father and the honor of his house above all else.

• Diana Rhynarion, 16, Female, Daughter to Eskandar
- Diana is a slender maiden, every bit as lovely as her second brother. Her raven hair is long with an endearing luster and her eyes are as dark as night. She has skin of the same hue as most of her countrymen. Fiercely devoted to her lordly father and to justice, she has procured a reputation as something of a firebrand, which has driven away many men who might otherwise court her. Although enamored to the more womanly pursuits of harping and sewing, Diana is also elegant with the crescent-shaped blade favored in her homeland. It is rumored that she fights as well as either of her brothers. Her brothers are very protective of their younger sister.

Minor Characters
• Jahangir Dezayin, 38, Male, Master of the Stables
- A well-built man with dark hair, on both his scalp and face, and a sharp manner, Jahangir breeds and cares for the fabled horses of the Sathar. He is one of Kaspar's most fervent supporters, and, while he adores Iskandar, he believes him to be a poor lord.

• Rustam Alkaseyr, 44, Male, Commander of the Guard
- The Commander of the Guard has aged poorly and already claims a balding head and a gray beard. He is a kindly man who is equally fond of Iskandar and his children. He enjoys an especially strong relationship with Kaspar and Diana, both of whom he took on as pupils. He also has a fondness for birds.

• Leopold Vastille, 62, Male, Steward of the Household
- Old, with no shortage of white hairs, Leopold is a prudent and devoted servant. He has attempted to ameliorate the excesses of his master, to little avail. He spends much of his free time in the gardens built by Cyrus to remind the Sathar of their original home, though he is of indigenous heritage.

• Haroun Feyad, 35, Male, Librarian and Advisor
- A vain and clever man, Haroun manages the treasured tomes of the meager palace at Cyron, the capitol of the Sathar. He secretly disdains his master and his bellicose children. However, he has a friendly relationship with the equally cynical Remus.

Territories: Cyron (Capitol), The Pasdaran Hills (Castle), Sathara

Geography: Sathara is characterized by its dry climate and flat, rolling plains. Rivers and springs are not terribly common in these harsh lands, but the inhabitants manage to employ water from natural aquifers and man-made wells for agricultural and pastoral purposes.

Desired Position:

Kaspar Rhynarion, Commander of the Scouts (House Kazanowski)

Name of House: Hubleris
Banner of House (describe or post a picture):

Brief Description of House: The House of Hubleris is an ancient family, masters of stone they are renowned for building the finest castles in the realm and claim to descend from the ancient House of Ubleris that once presided over these lands. Known for their devolution to the Church of Paragon one of the sons of the late Lord Wadesur Hubleris has even joined the church ever adding to the Hubleris well known piety. Valuing religion, order and honour the House of Hubleris remains steadfast in its course however as debts and a mixed line of succession may very well force them to adopt a more darker one .

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: The House of Hubleris thanks to the building projects of the late Lord Wadesur has gone into debt with the crown and also the church. Furthermore Wadesur himself was a longtime ally of the royal family as were his predecessors all of whom have viewed the House of Wallstryn as the only family worthy to wear the crown. However with their debt split between the crown and church and both competing to see their candidate become the new Lord or Lady of Hyderra.

Head of House (name, age, and sex): acting-Lord Conur Hubleris, 31 years old
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer):
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Acting-Lord Conur Hubleris, the bastard son of Count Philipus Hubleris , the brother of the late Lord Wadesur and a peasant girl who his father would later marry. Taking his fathers name Conur was exclusively raised by his father and was formally accepted into the family when his father married his mother to spare the family shame. Highly intelligent and cultured Conur however still bears the stigma of being born from wedlock and his mother being a commoner. Though he has a notorious intellect he also is famously hot-tempered and cold and many refer to him as Conur the Bastard, still he has earned his families trust serving as a Earl upon his fathers death and a loyal official to his uncle now though with his death Conur has for now taken the role of Lord until the succession crisis can be solved. As well like all Hubleris he is known for his great reverence to the Church and while he is loyal to his family he is also highly ambitious and has been known to do whatever necessary to achieve the high office he so does seek....

Jeros Hubleris, aged 18, son of Lord Wadesur

Raiana Hubleris, aged 18, daughter of Lord Wadesur

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:

Jeros Hubleris: The young son of Lord Wadesur Hubleris, Jeros left courtly life for one of piety and prayer in the Church of Paragon at an early age. Now though with the death of his father, mother and older brother the heir of Hyderra he is now in line for the throne along with his twin sister Raiana. Backed by the church and urged on by his few supporters the reluctant Jeros has gone through with trying to take the title despite his inexperience. Renowned as a bookworm and recluse Jeros has never ruled in his life, however despite this he is of great honour and good character and greatly intelligent like all his family.

Raiana Hubleris: The only surviving daughter of Lord Wadesur and twin of Jeros she was raised in the courts of Hyderra and the royal court were she was to find a husband at her mothers request. Charming, young and beautiful Raiana though intelligent lacks discipline and is erratic not to mention childish. Still despite being a girl with her father and elder brothers death the King eagerly pushed for her claim to her fathers title and like her brother she has eagerly followed this course.

Ser Timorgus Hubleris: As hard as steel, Timorgos is the younger brother to the deceased Lord Wadesur however he has since refused offers to take the title of Lord and instead has pledged loyalty to whomever takes the title. This is undoubtably due to his hatred of politics, love of war and disdain for the pageantry of court. Furthermore his only wife and child died decades ago and ever heartbroken he has refused to marry or father another child again in his life. A master of war and an expert swordsman Timorgos is nicknamed the "Fist of Hyderra" and while he bears the classic Hubleris traits of loyalty, intelligence and honour he lacks ambition and is a boorish figure to say the least.

Name of the Land they rule over: Hyderra (formerly the Shadow Lands)
Geography: Fertile inland, though coast is mountainous; Morbridge is set in Westrock Mountains, an inland mountain range rich with iron.
Desired Position (Can ask for more than one position, but only one position per family member. List three in order of preference. The High Magister must be a member of a Great House, and preferably the head):

Name of House: Illionae-Aenaea, called Illionae outside their domain but Aenaea within. Illionae refers to their general clan while Aenaea is the specific cadet branch. The House is thus never called Illionae and Aenaea at the same time. Other names has been used as well.
Banner of House

Brief Description of House: The House was founded by Aeneas the Firecrowned, a Prince of the Illion tribe in the Fire lands, far from Derria where the House first rose to prominence as a Princely family. Seafarers and merchants, the lords of Aenaea came into contact with Palaeosia a century ago and eventually began trading with House Delacroix. Two generations ago House Delacroix found themselves faced with serious money trouble and turned to the wealthy House of Aeneae. A marriage was arranged between a daughter of House Delacroix and a very your Aeneaean Prince, Aemoniel Aeneae, heir to the Aeneaean dynasty who gave House Delacroix a very generous bride price, in exchange for which he was created Count Palatine of Palaeosia.

Prince, now Count, Aemoniel, along with a number of young Illionae knights then settled in Palaeosia where they quickly earned the disapproval of the rest of that land, including the Count's own in-laws, who made no secret of the fact that they hated having given Aemoniel a bride of their House for money.

Aemoniel proved himself quite adept at maneuvering in a land where he was deemed a foreign and his House quickly prospered. They quickly became leading in much of the mercantile and seafaring efforts of Palaeosia and often presented unorthodox and novel solutions to the problems facing the land, yet remained fairly obscure.

Until House Delacroix went extinct. Aemoniel, now nearing the end of his life, fathered many children with his Delacroix wife prior to her death. The oldest living of his true-born sons, Aeraeriel, is now the legitimate heir to the Delacroix's and Lord of Palaeosia, and Aemoniel will do anything to secure his son's inheritance.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: There are no relationship and few feelings as House Illionae has only just emerged on the kingdom-wide scene having previously been involved almost exclusively with Palaeosian matters.
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Count Palatine Aemoniel IV Aeneae, Prince of the Illionae (61) and Aeraeriel Aeneae, Lord of Firania (25)
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord, Count and (in pretension) Prince
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to: King Telvion III
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Count Aemoniel IV Aeneae, Prince of the Illionae, is the patriarch of the House and its supreme leader. He is an old and cunning man who rule over the cast Count Palatinate, the second largest fief of Palaeosia after the Lordship, who is none the less looked down upon by the old Derrian families of the Kingdom. Though he has appeared a devout follower of the Church of the Paragon since his arrival in Palaeosia he remains a follower of the religion of his ancestors.

Lord Aeraeriel Aenaea is his oldest living son and new Lord of Palaeosia having inherited the land through his late mother's claim. Having spend most of his life as a second and lesser son he has remained quite immature in a relatively advanced age and prior to his ascent to the Lordship he has spend most of his time womanizing and drinking with friends. A great task awaits him to bear the mantle of the Lord of Palaeosia.

Lady Aenemonae Aenaea (17); his daughter
Sir Maekar Juniae (22), her fiancé, heir to House Juniae
Baron Vaeriel Haerkonae (55); his cousin; head of House Haerkonae, Shield of the Frontier
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: Sir Uraeziel Aenaea is perhaps the most able and talented of Count Aemoniel's children. As commander of the War Galleass Blushing Maiden he has risen rapidly through the ranks of the Palaeosian navy and hopes to rise even further still. Jealous of his older brother.

Sir Ahuraraeriel Aenaea is the youngest son of Count Aemoniel. He is deeply religious, but not in the Church of the Paragon.

Lady Aenemonae Aenaea is the only surviving daughter of Count Aemoniel. She is a beautiful young girl, engaged to Sir Maekar Juniae, who looks thinks she is to be a princess not that her older brother is Lord of Palaeosia.
Name of the Land they rule over: Palaeosia
Geography: As described by the Delacroix player

Military Overviews

House Thorn
Exports: Gold, Iron, Precious Gems, Silver, Ice, Stone, furs, fuel (blubber)
Imports: Majority of food, textiles, horses, wood
Terrain: Mountainous and treacherous, with terrible snow storms and winds. Access by sea is also treacherous, but larger vessels often brave the storms and cold in order to bring in large quantities of imports. Though the history between the Wallstryns and Thorns goes back far longer, the war of attrition turned to the Wallstryn's favor due to their engineering capability. their victory was accomplished by building wide paved roads through the mountains in order to move in cavalry. Mounted units were something not accounted for by the Northerners, who'd never imported horses on a large scale. When this happened, they were crushed and Kursturm was taken. Using the ideas of the new roads, Lord Gunther Thorn (Balthazar's great great great grandfather) took it upon himself to import massive quantities of horses from abroad, and convert the army, save for the home guard, into Heavy Cavalry.
Size of Forces: 10,000 strong
Navy: Four warships, enough to guard the harbor of their only port, located along the shores of the city Sturmwall.
Army: 6,000 Heavy Cavalry, 2,000 Swordsmen, 1,000 Pikemen, 1,000 Archers
Strengths: Having the supply of stone and metal at ones disposal enables them to form heavily armored and armed forces, and the ability to import whatever else they need. What is made up for in lack of population is substituted with quality. The architecture, though not colorful, is nigh impregnable. The constant state of winter means invasions are very dangerous during three seasons of the year. The family itself has never married outside of the broader blood line, so there is few foreign influence.
Weakness' The few amount of settlements, and the far distances between them mean that both population and the raising of armies comes mainly from the city of Sturmwall itself, which is a massive city at that. The commodities that must be imported such as horses and food are astoundingly expensive, so they rely on maritime as well as caravan styles of trade. Due to the fact that the family has stuck to marrying their cousins and occasionally siblings, they have started to run out of family members to pair themselves with, and are a declining line. There is corruption, slavery, and a powerful black market with virtually no law enforcement, so Sturmwall is a shady city outside the walls of the upper class district (the innermost ring of the city that surrounds the military Citadel and palace within.)

House Wallstryn
Exports: agricultural products, herbs, livestock, wool, fine wines, ale, mead,
Imports: spices, luxury goods, silver, gold, gems, frankincense, silks, paper, glass
Terrain: Warmer, moderately cold winters, warm to hot summers. The land is fertile, with hills, meadows and farmlands. A few forests cover the Crownlands as well.
Size of Forces: 36000
Navy: 82 warships, may be supplemented with trade ships.
Army: 3000 Heavy Cavalry (knights/mounted men-at-arms), 1000 Light Cavalry (men-at-arms), 16000 Infantry (men-at-arms/knights on foot), 4000 Archers, 1000 mounted archers (not horse archers, must dismount), 10500 Levies (more archers and infantry), 500 Engineers
Strengths: The Wallstryn's have become a wealthy house due to their status as the Royal family for 300 years and the mass trade that centers around the city of Avantine. This has given them the ability to pay the wages and equipment for many troops.

As the ruling family of Derria for 300 years, bankers across the sea in the Dellitan States are more inclined to provide the Wallstryn's with loans if need be. Though this inclination has declined due to the rule of King Telvion II and III.

The nature of the Crownlands being the capital region, combined with its fertility has given rise to a large population resulting in the capability on calling on many levies to serve in their forces. The Crownlands region has taken an enthusiasm to archery among the smallfolk, specifically the yew longbows which allows the Wallstryns to field a sizable amount of superb archers. Employment of many skilled engineers allows Wallstryn armies to build bridges, fortifications, roads, and siege weapons in haste. Allowing the armies to cross difficult terrain and rivers easily in time. Artillery (non gunpowder) is well used in field battles along with sieges.

A good amount of formidable castles dot the Crownland's landscape. As the capital region, the Crownlands has many well kept roads giving way to increased mobility within that region.

On the battlefield superior firepower in the longbowmen and artillery combined with large numbers of well disciplined heavy infantry is emphasized. While the cavalry is used to protect the flanks.

Weakness: Wallstryn armies are not accustomed to harsh conditions either in the North or South. The roads of the Crownlands make it easy to invade and the landscape difficult. Invading armies also have much to forage from being such a fertile region. While they can march their hosts as quickly as any other Derrian army, especially in the Crownlands, Wallstryn armies lack mobility for on the battlefield as less cavalry is employed. Instead preferring the use of well disciplined infantry and firepower (archers/artillery) to goad enemies into attacking. Their armies are best when given the time to set up on the battlefield. Archers, are easily routed.

Economy: Main drivers.
Mining and connected metalworking and crafting industries. (Smelting workshops and jewelry makers bla bla bla.)
Forestry and connected industries. (Sawmills and furniture makers and so on.)
Fishing and connected industries. (Whale yards and smoke houses and so on.)
Economy: Lesser industries.
Hunting and connected crafts.

Economy: Impediments.
Climate impedes efficient large scale farming and food production, climate shifts in spring and autumn can cause frequent crop faliure meaning a year without the need of a 'grain fleet' to arrive is seen as a blessing from the Paragon.
Massive snowfall can greatly hinder passage and hamper overland trade in winter.
Few good, well-maintained roads.

Terrain.
Varied, the south, being positioned at the end of the temperate band is more fertile and consists of flatlands, rolling hills and small forest groves. The southern posads are the breadbasket of Vorzov, with short, harsh winters but also long, cool summers and a long growing season. The further north you come the less fertile more elevated in the form of hills and low mountains, It´s foothills heavily forested in connection with the large boreal forests covering central Vorzov, and a only a few good roads connect the whole realm. The center is prone to long winters and short, but pleasant summers. The northernmost parts feature scatterd forests, hills dotted with ancient Ungol ruins, and cold grass plains, these lands are home to a few homesteads scraping whatever crops they can from the meagre soil. It is also the home of the nomadic kozzar clans, constanly moving their herds from one grazing ground to another. In autumn and winter, powerful storms sweep in to buffet the region and make the coasts dangerous to approch by ship.

Size of military. 20 900 men.
Navy: 8 carracks and 34 war galleys.
Army: 1200 Heavy Cavalry. 3000 Medium Cavalry. 4000 Light Cavalry/Horse Archers (Kozzars). 3000 Bardiche men. 3000 Halberdiers. 3000 Spearmen. 2000 Bowmen. 1500 Greycloaks. (Light Infantry armed with swords and crossbows.) 200 Bone Men (The household guard of the Kazanowski´s, once the Royal Guard of Vorzov.)
Strenghts:
Harsh terrain and inclement weather and cold climate, coupled with castles and citadels commanding important passes and roads make an invasion a complicated buissness. A sense of national unity creates a strange form of loyalty and fealty to the ruling house that many southerners do not understand, this is also a great factor behind the northern morale. The true power of the Vorzovian army lies in it´s cavalry and heavy infantry. The large amounts of cavalry make the army very mobile in battle. The heavy infantry regiments of bardiche man and halberdiers engage hold the enemy in place while the cavalry manouvers to break the foe with devastating attacks and kozzars harry the enemy flanks and rear lines.

Weaknesses:
The tactics of the Vorzovian army are based around coopreation between the different forces, should cooperation between the elements cease, they would be at a serious disadvantage. The archers on foot are levy militias with whatever experiance they have from huntig trips in the forest by their village. Winged Lancers are strong fighters but not as strong as real knights, they are chock cavalry who excell at charges but not so much in prolonged combat. Little capability to quickly replace lossess in the military. If the Army would be beaten, any emergency forces that would be raised would have little training and no experiance. A naval blockade would cripple exports leading to economic breakdown and, depending on the harvest, could also cause a famine.

House Lorelliere

Exports: gold, fine wine, livestock, wool, gems, luxury goods
Imports: silks, paper, herbs, spices, glass, silver
Terrain: The southern half of Îles the Perles has cold, leaning to temperate climate. The lands, least those which are not rocky wastelands, stormy cliffs or black sand beaches, are very fertile despite the occasional cold waves from the north, and have blessed House Lorelliere with enough agricultural products and livestock to sustain its own population without depending on imports. On the southernmost shores of the region stands Kruventh, the most ancient city in Îles de Perles, and home to House Lorelliere. Most of the islands in the region are only lightly fortified, the forces guarding them relying on the few hills to act as natural strongholds in the face of an hypothetical invasion. Kruventh, however, has seen its fortifications constantly increased in size and strength over the past few decades, especially after their humilliating defeat against House Delacroix.
Stormy seas, tall rocky hills and cliffs, inhospitable tundras and thick frozen forests are the main features of the northern part of Îles de Perles. Because of how inhospitable the region is, most of its gold deposits have been left untouched by the wealth-hungry House Lorelliere. However, the harsh terrain and climate also proved to be the main incentive for House Lorelliere to build one of the best fortifications in Derria: Marzanna. This extremely expensive seaside structure houses the bulk of House Lorelliere's military, hidden from the ever-watching eyes of House Delacroix. It stands on the tundra of the northernmost island of Îles de Perles, and its docks are permantently crowded by the secret Lorelliere war fleet, while a small drydock has been recently built to produce more war vessels.
Size of Forces: 9590
Navy: 10 heavy warships, 26 light warships, 22 merchant ships
Army: 3000 archers, 2000 crossbowmen/swordsmen, 2000 Doppelsöldner, 300 light cavalry, 50 heavy cavarly, 220 Shadows (Shadow Army), 20 Emerald Blades (Seraphine's personal guard)
Strengths: Despite being heavily in debt, House Lorelliere is still amongst the wealthiest houses in Derria. This has made their recent military buildup possible. In particular, their gold made it possible to purchase the services of two thousand Doppelsöldner, well-trained and experienced mercenaries.
While much of their prestige outside of the Îles de Perles has been lost, within the islands the name of House Lorelliere still receives much admiration from merchants and bankers, both noble and commoner, who would gladly provide their Earl with funds if Îles de Perles were to be threatened with invasion again. In fact, the population of Îles de Perles is very loyal towards House Lorelliere.
The heavily centralized government of the islands, alongside with high population concentrated in only a handful of cities, make it quite easy for House Lorelliere to collect taxes and draft thousands to increase the size of their military. Not only that, but the concentration of population have also helped prevent the military of Îles de Perles from being stretched thin.
The harsh climate and terrain act as a natural first line of defense against any invasion, and the land and sea forces of House Lorelliere have long since learned to use the enviroment in their favor.
The heavier warships of House Lorelliere are sturdy, and their captains are amongst the best in Derria, capable of sailing the most dangerous waters of the northern seas with ease. The lighter ones, on the other hand, are mostly former merchant vessels that were converted when most of the heavy ships were sunk during the war against the Delacroix. However, they are still well-built and efficient in war.
While few in number, House Lorelliere's fortifications are robust structures, well-stocked in supplies, and built on highly advantageous terrain.
Weakness: While resourceful and experienced, the mayority of House Lorelliere's military is far more skilled in defending its land from invaders than it is in invading foreign lands. Not only that, but the entire structure of House Lorelliere's army revolves around defending their islands. Most of the soldiers are archers or crossbowmen, while the cavalry is small in numbers and inexperienced, since they have seldom been needed in Îles de Perles. There are no spearmen or halberdiers, and the few pieces of artillery that remain in the islands are dedicated exclussively to the defense of Kruventh and Marzanna.
Because of this, the forces of House Lorelliere would have to be willing accept heavy casualties to win a single mayor battle, let alone a siege on a mayor fortress. Also, the inhabitants of Îles de Perles are not accustomed to warm climates, making them extremely vulnerable in regions such as the Burrowlands.
On the other hand, the leadership of the land military, while centralized, is also extremely inexperienced in mayor land combat.
And while the economic might of House Lorelliere is not questioned, the strength of their war industry is not even close to the best in Derria, most of their weaponry being imported from more experienced regions.

Exports and Imports: almost everything, having a big maritime business going on, sometimes even useless products transit in their proprieties to be sold later.

Terrain: Mediterranean climate conditions and forests everywhere, the Delacroix prefer to let wood grow to then use it for their ships, sometimes at the expenses of giving the population more agricultural camps (but not objecting to spices and rare products). The coasts are mostly filled with rocks except for specific points where building a port is possible, places that the Delacroix transformed into naval fortress and basic production of their ships.

Size of Forces: Around 12.000 soldiers, not counting the navy of course, and whealth to hire sellsword in good quantity if needed
Navy: 20 Warships, 40 Frigates, 60 Small Ships. A Delacroix patrol fleet is usually composed by 1 Warship, 2 Frigates and 3 Small ones.
Army: around 4.000 between pikeman and swordsman; 2.000 knights, 20 forming the "Black Feathers" (an elite unit of seasoned knights feared in all Firania for their skills, mostly of them according to words are not even Derrian, the best knights found and hired by the Delacroix at the four angles of the world, but it's impossible to discern that since they are always in full black armor. ); 6.000 archers and crossbowman, 4.000 regulars, 1.500 forming the "Night Hunters" (watchers and shadows of the many forests of Firania, voices says they sometimes attack even merchants not from the Delacroix, but their efficency and the lack of any proof remaining after their actions failed to produce proof of their evil, like with the Delacroix. ), 500 forming the "Crow's Nest", assigned to the protection of the capital walls.
Strengths: Navy. The Delacroix have the most experienced, trained, seasoned and powerful naval armada of Derria, due to their huge naval commerce; for many the fact that most of the Derrian important fortification such as the Paragon one are deep within the land is the only reason the Delacroix are not the most feared house in Derria.
Their archery skills and disguise and dirty tactics are also something to consider, as often is said that a member of the Night Hunter can hit 5 birds with one arrow. Their strenght mostly comes with the territory, as the Delacroix forests are vast and hard to traverse quickly for outsiders.
Last, but not least, their wealth grants them huge economic and mercenary power. You should disregard this data if you want to join in a long campaign against the Delacroix, as their number will only grew as those in debt with them will come to pay with their blood and those who wants a good pay will raise their swords for them.
Weakness: Except for the Black Feathers, and Robert, they have no really experienced close fighters except for sea boarding. If you want to assault Firania, heavy cavalry should be your choice if you can find a good path between the forests, as you will have the speed and defense to ignore their archers. Also, their 'evil' is well known in Derria, so everyone thinks twice before shaking hands with them.

House Clyfton
Exports: Agricultural produce (livestock, clothing materials, crops etc.), Red stone, iron, wood
Imports: Luxury goods, glass, weaponry, precious metals
Terrain: Fertile inland, though coast is mountainous; Morbridge is set in Westrock Mountains, an inland mountain range rich with iron
Size of Forces: 12,000
Navy: 50 ships: 27 galleys, 16 carracks, 7 cogs
Army: 2,000 heavy cavalry; 3,000 light cavalry, 6,000 infantry, 1,000 archers (8,000 of which are levies)
Strengths:
The Bannorn's abundance of natural resources, such as wood, stone and iron, contribute to their armies' strength, with great stores of spears, swords, bows and arrows, not to mention heavy siege equipment and ammunition, the latter of which mostly made of the resilient red stone. The Bannorn fleet is equipped with on-board scorpions, as well as iron-tipped rams for which are needed in ship-on-ship battle.
Elendir's Keep: situated in the heartland of the Bannorn, Elendir's Keep is a safe haven for an besieged region. Surrounded by it's wide and deep moat and high walls, Elendir's is a last resort defence of House Clyfton, with the capacity to fend off an invading army for a year or more, provided the harvest had been bountiful.
Weakness:
Whilst their armies are outfitted with decent equipment, House Clyfton is not a rich house and relatively poor and indebted to the Crown, House Wallstryn. It was the Wallstryns who provided the coin for the construction of Redcliffe Castle centuries ago, and ever since the Clyftons have owed them.
The Bannorn is relatively defenceless from northern attacks, with the main exception being the Valfort, though it is relatively undermanned. A sizable force could take the Valfort in a matter of weeks. If it were not for the Morbridge mountain range the Bannorn would be relatively easy to take, with the exception of Elendir's Keep and Redcliffe.

House Helyanwe

Exports: Agricultural produce, (mainly crops, livestock, melons, the infamous Spyrtfire wine, peaches, apples, grapes, etc. ), timber, stone, a lot of sea trade

Imports: Lots of Iron, luxury goods, precious stones, northern furs, western luxuries

Terrain: The most fertile lands in Derria, the terrain includes sprawling fields, lush forests, and ample farmlands. Basically think of the Tyrells' land, the Reach.

Size of Forces: 27, 250 (due to abundance of spare food)

Navy: 67 ships: 25 frigates, 17 wars ships, 3 longships, 7 galleys, 8 sloops, 4 carracks, and 3 cogs.

Army: 2,500 heavy cavalry; 7,000 light cavalry, 8,000 men and women at-arms (5,000 are levies), 7,500 archers, 2,000 pike/spearmen, 250 scouts/Rangers of Alanthi

Strengths:
The Helyanwes enjoy great agricultural produce and in turn are able field a substantial army. Their army is well-fed and appropriately equipped for war.
Ellesmera, though a city glistening with fine architectural beauty, is a fortress in and of itself. There are three walls. The largest and thickest is the external wall outfitted with catapults, arrow slits, and burning tar. Within this wall lays the general population of Ellesmera. Townhouses, shops, etc. lay within here. The second wall is less thick than first and not as large. This wall is armed with fewer catapults and many battlements. Behind this wall lays the upper-class of Ellesmera. Sprawling mansions, the cathedral, and Town Hall reside here. Beyond this lay the third and final wall. It is the smallest of the walls, but thicker than the external wall, encompassing the great Citadel of Alanthi, the bastion of Helyanwe power. (something similar to this
The Helyanwes enjoy great sea trade with their neighbors the Delitian Free States. The Helyanwes took it upon themselves to police the southern part of the Alesian Sea between the two nations and thus with their trade routes intact, trade flourishes and their navy is kept experienced.
The Helyanwe scouts and Rangers make a surprise march on Alanthi almost impossible. The Rangers are also accredited with being among, if not already, the best in all of Derria in archery.

Weakness:
[i]Though able to field large numbers, the Helyanwes often find that their lack the iron resources don't allow them to field Heavily armored troops, other than the cavalry. Because of this their troops often wear leather or chain-mail, but never plate except for those nobles able to afford it.
Though they have good relations with their neighbors to the north, Velun and the Crownlands, They are relatively neutral towards their western neighbors and have only fought next to the Bathels when large forces of southern raiders were attacking along the southern borders.
Lord Alandil is a cautious man and is reluctant to send out his army en masse, unless called upon to do so specifically by the Royals. The same applies to the Helyanwe Navy. Though he calls his banners, he only sends portions of them out. More often than nought, he keeps the raised levies in Alanthi with a small portion standing by the northern border to support the Crownlands.
The Helyanwe Navy has never left the Alesian Seas, except for a few who braved the northern ice storms, and are unfamiliar with the sailing conditions in the west.

House Aurenstein

Exports: agricultural products, dairy products, livestock,
Imports: spices, luxury goods, silver, gold, gems, frankincense, silks, paper, glass
Terrain: Warmer, moderately cold winters, warm to hot summers. The land is fertile, with hills, meadows and farmlands. A few forests cover the Crownlands as well.
Size of Forces: 8000
Navy: None
Army:
-550 cavalry of varying quality, most of them are no opponents to the heave cavalry of other Houses (50 of these cavalrymen are personal guards).
50 military engineers and sappers.
-1,500Archers (longbowmen)
-1000 crossbowmen
-2750 Halberdiers & Pikemen
-1650 melee infantry (men at arms)
-500 Aurenstein personal guards (Household Guards)
Strengths:
-Aurenstein has a well-trained, well-disciplined and equipped infantry force.
-The House of Aurenstein is quite wealthy, due to their fertile lands in the Crownlands.
-Highclere Castle, the family's citadel above the city of Clere is a veritable fortress (The family, however prefers to reside at Highclere Hall, a newly built, pompous palace of sorts which is more aesthetically pleasing and more luxurious)

Weakness:
- House Aurenstein has no navy at all. They rent merchant ships for grain transport, but that's about it. Ofcourse, the Highclere holdings are landlocked, so the need of a navy is not so great.
- House Aurenstein does not have as much Heavy Cavalry as other Houses. This is a blow to their mobility and their charging capacity.
- Earl Loran is a cutious men and he will never, ever send his men in direct combat unless he is forced to. The Aurenstein men are also more suited to defend their own territory, rather than invading that of others.
- Apart from Highclere Castle and the city of Clere, the Aurenstein lands are virtually flat and lack natural defenses.

House Velun

Exports: Iron, Steel, Metal Goods, barley, wheat, turnips, parsnips, rye, Djenever spirit, textiles.

Imports: Dyes, precious materials, spices, textiles, other crops.

Terrain: Velunia is a fertile land, but it's agriculture prowess comes not necessarily from the soil; rather, hollow-post and tower windmills, as well as numerous watermills, have facilitated the drainage of vast silty grounds from which Velunia derives a large amount of it's agricultural land. The high grounds of the territory are productive in the sense of producing iron and the coal so vital to refining it into steel; Velunia as a whole, excluding the most inland regions, is a largely flat region, which has resulted in the people learning to be very good at building walls and avoiding flooding.

Size of Forces: ~23,000

Navy: 15 Warships, 28 Frigates. Longships are built as required.

Army: 2,500 Oppermannr (Heavy Cavalry), 500 Knights, 11,000 Landsknechtr (Heavy Infantry), 6,000 Crossbowmen (Levies), 500 longbowmen (Levies), 2,500 City Militia (Levies)
Strengths:
House Velun enjoys the benefits of ruling a region characterized by it's cold, Velunian pragmatism. Mass-produced textiles- done so by the strength of the water- and windmill- are practically the only luxury good produced by the region, and even in that case they are renowned more for their strength and heat-retentive properties than for their softness. These conditions breed a pragmatic people, where codes of chivalry are seen as mere scraps of paper, and has led to the creation of the Oppermannr and Landsknechtr, proper soldiers, mostly bound by blood-oath to the House of Velun. While a provision of knights and nobility still exist in the region, they are rare and seen as holdovers of a dishonorable past. Hammer, sickle and blood is what Velunians work with. The Velunian fleet also retains an unquestionably strong presence in the Bay of Odenos.

Weakness:
Velunian sea power projection beyond the Bay is paltry at it's best; the House is limited to protecting trade, mostly in agricultural products, from East to West. This has led to some neglect in the maintenance of a standing navy at sea, at least one that can participate in proper sea battles, although the Oppermannr still in their hearts remember long days on the longboat with their Landsknechtr before them. Although the Oppermannr and Landsknechtr wield significant powers, they are still seen and treated as inferior to the actual nobility, to the dismay of Philippa in particular. Velunia is also largely flat, precluding any particular spectacular defense via terrain; this has had a tendency to work in the Velunian's favor, but may backfire in the future.

House Rhynarion

Exports: horses, leather, dairy products, wool, mutton, stone, coal

Imports: wood, iron, gold, jewels, grains, cotton textiles, furs, perfumes, dyes, flax, beef, fruits, vegetables, fish, luxury goods

Terrain: Sathara is a desiccated, unforgiving country filled by little more than empty, rolling plains which seem to stretch endlessly into the horizon. In winter, the temperatures are unbearably cold. It is these which are the pulsating heart of the territories ruled by the Vuzurgan. The rugged people who live there draw their sustenance from the meager grasses that carpet the plains and feed their animals. A few forrests lie on the periphery of the lands claimed by House Rhynarion where wild game might be found during the less dismal months. These have often been witness to minor skirmishes between the poor hunters loyal to Cyron and the aristocratic men who claim them as their own. At the very center of Sathara, nestled between a few small hills, lies the capitol, a small village named for its founder, Cyrus of House Rhynarion. Its palaces are dark, melancholic places in winter, though they are cheerful and radiant in the summer months. They are famed for their exotic gardens, which are warmed by panels of vibrant green glass. Finally, outside of the city complex, the ruined castle of Pasdaran sits atop the highest hill, holding the garrisons and commanding control of the land for miles. It is not, however, a very formidable fortress. There has been some talk of repairing it.

Size of Forces: 3,500

Navy: N/A

Army:
• 1,500 Sathar Cavaliers
• 500 Squires
• 1,500 Levied Spearmen

Strengths: The reformation of Sathar military tactics initiated by Remus Rhynarion and credited to his more martial brother, Kaspar, has succeeded at incorporating both the flexible style of combat favored by the original Sathars, which employed lightly armored men armed with bows and substantial supporting columns behind the front lines, and a modified version of the lance charge favored by heavy knights. Sathar chargers are light horses bred to endure travel at high speeds for long-distances. However, they do not possess the sheer weight of most animals and as a result compensation was necessary in order to level the field. As a result, cavaliers boast a degree of discipline rivaled by few other soldiers. Additionally, they wield lances long enough to puncture the armor of pikemen and halberdiers at a safe distance. This together with their less than chivalrous habit of killing enemy horses with arrows or spears and of using maces against heavily armored opponents makes them an adaptable and effective fighting force against any foe foolish enough to face them on the open battlefield. Generally, however, commanders prefer to use them as scouts due to their quick mounts. Finally, Kaspar Rhynarion is well-respected by his men and the nobles with whom he serves.

Weakness: While the cavalry of Sathara is renown for its ferocity and ability, the infantry often utilized to support them is notorious for its lack of discipline and propensity to flee the field. These men are usually poor peasants forced into the ranks when conflicts arise. They wield a long, light spear, a wicker spear, and have little or no armor. As such, it is not particularly surprising that they run more often than they hold the line. Worse still, Sathara lacks the resources plentifully had elsewhere in the realm, and, as a result, House Rhynarion almost always encounters difficulties at keeping an army in the field for extended lengths of time. Additionally, the Sathar are utterly incapable of fighting naval battles or sieges, in either offensive or defensive roles.

House Apps Continued

Name of House: Lollard
Banner of House (describe or post a picture): A Grey Wolf Upon a sea of White
Brief Description of House:
The House of Lollard is a recent addition to the few houses within Kurstrum. The lord of the manor is the recently knighted Ser Draco "The Black" Lollard, he and his younger brother Ser Jeffery "The White Wolf" were both named knights after earning their spurs in the Battle of Sturmwall and Krieger's Pass respectively. They were given the lands of a couple villages in the south with a couple small castles. Draco recieved his name from the way in which he gave no mercy to any noble that crossed him over the course of the battle. His younger brother is named after the sigil of his house and the long white cap and surcoat.
Only time will tell if Thorn will provide this house with more powers in his land, providing the Royalist forces do not prevail in the war.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: The House has cares little for the Walltryn's
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Draco, 27, male
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Knight
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): House of Thorn
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance):
Draco is the eldest son born to an old merchant family. He is tall, with dark eyes, medium length dark brown hair and has a pointed black beard, he is a very strong man and as such normally wields a large two-handed longsword but may also wield a warhammer. He and his younger brother had not the sea salt in their blood like their father and set out to become men of higher class once they reached the age of 13 and 11 respectfully. Unlike his younger brother, Draco did not become a squire to a knight and instead joined a group of mercenary's as a camp follower before earning his sword by killing a man in armed combat. Draco was made a sworn sword to the House of Thorn from as early as the age of 17 after being paid by the ruling house to deal with a roaming band of brigands in the northern mountains. He henceforth acted as enforcer of the King's justice in the name of the House of Thorn as well as bodyguard to certain family members. He recieved a reputation as a harsh punisher of thieves and brigands, as well as rumored to have sired many bastards across Kurstrum. He is the second of his family to recieve his knighthood after his younger brother Jeffery. He recieved his spurs for his part in vanquishing many royalists during the failed siege of Sturmwall, he also recieved his name from the apparent black stain upon his honor in not following the codes of chivalry and killing knights pleading for mercy. He was knighted and laid claim to his brothers newly named knightly House. His brother peacefully and happily bowed to his brother and made him knightly lord of the House.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex):
Jeffery, 25, male
Alice, 20, female (sister)
Harold, 17, male (bastard brother)

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
Jeffery is average in height, has shoulder length golden brown hair and has light blue eyes. He is a muscular man, average in build for a knight, and generally wields a bastard hand-an-ahalf sword but is known to be capable with a jousting lance. Jeffery dreamed of becoming a knight ever since he was a little boy. When his brother ran off when he was 11 years old, Jeffery stayed behind seeing as his older brother felt he was too young to make his way in the world. Their father gave in to the fact that neither of his sons had any inkling to become merchants and to keep at least one of his sons alive, he sent Jeffery to become a page to one lowly knight named Ser Rufus Karth. It would be from him where he learned the martial arts of being a knight and the code of chivalry, though much can be said that about how far chivalry is actually observed. He would become his squire in the years to come and would be apart of his retinue in the years to come. Jeffery would fight in the Battle of Krieger's Pass along with Ser Karth among Balthazar's personal calvary. He fought with bravery and killed many Royalists, sadly, his master and the few men in his retinue all fell and Jeffery was lucky to get out of the battle alive. He would recieve his knighthood from a drunk Balthazar and dubbed with a bloody sword. It was he who took up the sigil of his house but he honored his brothers right of birth and gave him the right to claim himself lord of the House of Lollard.

Name of House: Averril

Banner of House: House colors are navy and crimson. Banner consists of a navy field with a crimson sword crossed with a white sheaf of wheat forming an X and symbolizing how the house derives power from both strength at arms and the hard work of the common farmer.

Brief Description of House: Averril is a resurgent house which was refounded about 165 years ago after being nearly entirely destroyed by an angry prince due to some forgotten insult. The House was restored by Gilliam Averril I with help from the king as reward for his part in helping to end a bloody and destructive civil war and keeping the Wallstryn line from failing. They haven't forgotten their ties to the royal family and continue to serve faithfully when called upon.
The Averril family lands are known as Graycastle for the decent sized fortress made of gray stone that was built on and around the lands highest hill and are famous for their fruit orchards that provide grapes, raspberries, and strawberries. Most of these fruits are preserved as wines and brandies which fetch high prices across Derria for their flavor and quality and serve as the primary source of income for the house. The family itself is small but the wealth provided by their wines and spirits and from a recent strategic marriage with the Longherd merchant family allows it to maintain a sizeable garrison of retainer soldiers.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: While dismayed by the current King's mental illness House Averril continues to remain a loyal and resolute vassal to the royal family.

Head of House: Earl Redguard Averril is a 53 year old male
Nobility Ranking: Earl
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to: Wallstryn
Brief Description of Head of House: Redguard Averril has a gentle spirit and generous demeanor that many have tried to take advantage of in the past only to learn that to cross him is tantamount to running afoul of a wolfhound. He is not a warrior but is a great administrator with a high grade of acumen; under his leadership the Averril family has seen an increase in its fortunes. He is a stocky man who once had blond hair which is now gray, his head is bald but he sports a full mustache with a beard.

Relevant House Members:
Mellissa Averril, Female 49
Gilliam Averril IV, Male 32
Willhelm Averril, Male 29
Helena Averril Longherd, Female 22
Dudly Longherd, Male 25
Leana Longherd Averril, Female 20
Donald of Graycastle, Male 66

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:
Mellissa is the wife of Redguard and famous among those who know her for being a wonderful hostess.
Gilliam IV is the first son of Mellissa and Redguard and the heir apparent to the family but holds more interest in joining the Silver Guard.
Willhelm Averril wished to join the Church of the Paragon as a priest but his marriage to Leana Longherd has put an end to his chances. He fills the role of spiritual adviser to his other family members.
Helena Longherd is the sister of Gilliam and Willhelm, she was married in a double wedding with her older brother to solidify a union with the richest merchants in Graycastle.
Dudly Longherd is Helena's husband who wealthy but not of noble birth. He secretly assists Redguard in running the lands and will likely take over as the man in charge of the Averril's treasury.
Leana Averril is the wife of Willhelm. She and her husband have little affection for one another and she spends most of her time back at her family home while Willhelm plays preacher.
Donald of Graycastle is the Averril family steward who has served three generations of leaders. Though nearly as old as the Gray Castle itself he seems to have suffered none of the maladies that time so often ravages the elderly with. Some of the more superstitious people claim he knows magic.

Name of the Land they rule over: Graycastle
Geography: bestride the border's of House Wallstryn and Velune.

Name of House: House Ulryden

Banner of House (describe or post a picture):

Brief Description of House: An old house but one of the more violent. The Uldrydens have been great warriors as far back as their line goes. While many of the Uldryden enjoys war they have since turned to trade as many opportunities have opened as of late. In the beginning the Uldrydens warred and raided to get a majority of their money. Being able to easily escape into the swamps and wetlands that they knew like the back of their hand. Though they were master warriors seeing as a good portion of their eastern borders are marshes they have troubles bringing in crops. To solve this many of the smallfolk turned to the sea and soon the warriors followed.

With the warriors being able to raid by sea and land they grew rich and powerful off the spoils of war until they were conquered by the house of the king that presides over the land now. In the present they have equalized the the need of food between the fertile but difficult soil on land and the bounty of the sea. In the past few generations the Uldrydens have grown more fond of house Wallstryn but there are still tensions between them.

Head of House (name, age, and sex): Nestor Ulryden (M 23)

Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord

Thus Nestor became Lord of the Colovian Wetlands. Unlike many of his ancestors Nestor holds no great love of war. Instead he prefers intrigue or money making.
Nestor is a capable mathematician and practiced diplomat. Though still young he has excelled in those pursuits while his brother handles the fighting. He is unmarried which has greatly troubled everyone in his family as he needs to marry and make an heir.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex): Lysanna Uldryden (F 19), Maric Uldryden (M 23), Gared Ulrdyen (M 11), Janos Marsh (M 29), Royce Uldryden (M 42), Damien Uldryden (M 48)

Of the Quendi wrote:Exports and Imports: almost everything, having a big maritime business going on, sometimes even useless products transit in their proprieties to be sold later.

Size of Forces: Around 12.000 soldiers, not counting the navy of course, and wealth to hire sellsword in good quantity if needed.

Navy: WIP Galleass
The Galleass is the man-of-war battleship of the Palaeosian navy used as flagships or as combatants against the most potent of enemy vessels. Larger and much higher than galley's the Galleasses are usually three or even four masters with armoured fore- and aftcastles packing fearsome weaponry. The Galleass, unlike the Galley and Dromon, is mostly propelled by sail with the oars usually being used for secondary propulsion. All Galleasses feature an overhanging deck used to board lower ships.

Galley
Originally the workhorse of the Palaeosian navy the galley has since the naval reforms of the great First Sealord Elenaerion Aenaea taken a on a secondary role compared to the increasingly popular dromon. The Galleys have longer keels, larger sails and more soldiers than the dromons which makes them more potent in close combat, though their lesser maneuverability and seaworthiness is a disadvantage that the professional sailors of the Palaeosian navy dreads.

Heavy Galley

Sails: 2 lateen
Crew: 50 sailors and 250 oarsmen

Armour: Armour plated sides

Dromons
Dromons are the most important Palaeosian navy, replacing galley's during the tenure of Elenaerion. They are ordinarily propelled by both oar and sail and comes in several sizes. Dromons have 72-100 oars in two banks, forecastles and reinfroced central towers near the main mast, from which the marines could fire artillery weapons. The Dromons of Palaeosia is ordinarily not sent into direct combat, and unlike the galleys does not feature a naval ram, but relies on their great maneuverability and seaworthiness to outmaneuver enemy forces while using their artillery to take out the enemy on a distance.

Armoured Dromon

Length: 39 meters
Beam: 5 meters
Displacement: 180 tonnes
Sails: 2 lateen and a foresail
Crew: 30 sailors and 200 oarsmen
Soldiers: 20 Gunners and 40 Marines (standard complement)

Rowing speed: 3-7 knots
Provisions: 7 days
Armaments: 1 catapults, 4 heavy ballista, 4 light ballista (standard complement), 1 fire discharger (optional)

Shebeks
The Palaeosian Shebek is the latest development in Derrian seamanship and the fastest type of vessel used for military operations. Originally envisioned by the great First Sealord Elenaerion Aenaea during the First Pirate War when the Palaeosian navy was in need of vessels that could catch the faster pirate vessels from Agrasca the Shebeks featured a distinctive hull with pronounced overhanging bow and stern and are lighter than dromonds. Two variants exist in the modern Palaeosian navy, the heavier Battle Shebek utilized as the chief hit-and-run ship attacking enemy supply lines and merchantmen and the Light Shebek used for mail delivery, scouting missions and ocassionally anti-piracy missions. The Palaeosian navy operates 12 Battle Shebeks and 6 Light Shebeks

Battle Shebek

Length: 40 meters

Sails: 4 lateen
Crew: 20 sailors and 20 oarsmen
Soldiers: 40 Marines (standard complement)
Sailing speed: 4.5-16.5 knots
Rowing speed: 4.5 knots
Provisions: 10 days
Armaments: 2 light ballista (standard complement)
Armour: None

Army: 4,000 Men-at-Arms, 700 Cataphracts, 500 Druzina 800 Turcopoles, 4,000 Archers, of which 700 Toxophilites, 2,000 Arbalastiers divided into one army and several independent unit. The Order of Battle for the Army is as follows;

Army of Kursturn ORBAT Commander: Captain-General Roland Delacroix, Baron of Veneti

400 Cataphracts
300 Druzina
300 Turcopoles
2,000 Men-at-Arms
2,000 Archers
1,000 Arbalastiers

Strengths: Navy. The Aenaeans have the most experienced, trained, seasoned and powerful naval armada of Derria, due to their huge naval commerce; for many the fact that most of the Derrian important fortification such as the Paragon one are deep within the land is the only reason the Aenaeans are not the most feared house in Derria.

Their archery skills and disguise and dirty tactics are also something to consider, as often is said that a member of the Toxophilite Corps can hit 5 birds with one arrow. Their strength mostly comes with the territory, as the Palaeosian forests are vast and hard to traverse quickly for outsiders.

Last, but not least, their wealth grants them huge economic and mercenary power. You shouldn't disregard this data if you want to join in a long campaign against the Aenaeans, as their number will only grew as those in debt with them will come to pay with their blood and those who wants a good pay will raise their swords for them.

Weakness: Except for the Cataphracts, they have no really experienced close fighters except for sea boarding. If you want to assault Palaeosia, heavy cavalry should be your choice if you can find a good path between the forests, as you will have the speed and defense to ignore their archers.

House Averril
Exports: Wines and Brandies from Grapes, Raspberries, and Strawberries, Potatoes, Carrots, Yams, Goat Cheese and Meat, Pottery, Stone
Imports: Glass, Wood, Beef, Luxuries, Iron, Flour
Terrain: Warmer, moderately cold winters, warm to hot summers. The land is hilly with large patches of rocky soil and clay. House Averril takes great care of the King's highway and has several roads that are 'paved' with gravel and shale stone which allows rain water to drain off them quickly and expedites both trade and the speed which armies can move in war time.
Size of Forces: 5,100
Navy: None
Army: House Averril makes great use of foot troops armed with halberds and pikes and has taken the Wallstryn approach of using longbow armed soldiers to the next step, maintaining a force of professional Yoemen who are lightly armored and armed with longbows, long daggers, and a buckler. House Averril's knights prefer to fight dismounted because of the hilly uneven terrain and are fond of weapons like the bec de corbin and ransuer, long (Bastard) swords are also very popular and the estoc is rising in popularity; when fighting from horseback Averril's knights prefer maces, flails, and axes to sword type weapons in support of their lances. In addition to themselves each knight is required to provide at least 15 men at arms but their equipment is up to the knight himself. The bulk of the House's military during war time comes from the peasantry - once a weak all freemen and serfs are required to train in the use of pikes and crossbows from dawn to dusk in case they must be called to fight, there is a special tax that some families can pay that excludes them from the mandatory drills and the money is used toward funding the edict.
Professional soldiers - Yoemen 1,250, Knights 350, Halbediers 1,500, Men at Arms 2,000. Militia - 1,000 levied.

Strengths: House Averril maintains a standing professional force which regularly trains for battle and patrols the main roads hunting down brigands and highwaymen making them skilled combatants.

Mandatory military drills for the peasantry provides superior militiamen and levies.

Graycastle is a fortress surrounded by a large town (pop. ~5,000) of the same name. It is a concentric castle built into the side of a steep hill with two outer curtains surrounding the keep and is well protected by traps and siege engines. It is the home of the Averril family as well as the main garrison for the soldiers and can hold up to 4,000 combatants for a few months if necessary as it contains three sources of fresh water and lots of food and weapon stocks. A partial wall of earth and wood is being built around the city itself but is being funded mainly by the wealthier members of the town's population.

Weakness: House Averril's soldiers rarely fight on open terrain and are not used to situations where the enemy can maneuver easily.

Lack of quality steel means that most of the house's soldiers wear more leather than metal armor which leaves them poorly defended compared to some houses.

Lack of standards for Men at Arms in equipment and training makes those soldiers a wildcard in battle.

Brief Description of House: TBA
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: TBA
Head of House (name, age, and sex): TBA (29 year old male)
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Baron
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): TBA (who wants me as a vassal? What kind of vassal do you want?)
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): TBA
Relevant House Members (names, age and sex): TBA
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:TBA
Name of the Land they rule over: TBA
Geography: Rocky moorland good for sheep.
Desired Position (Can ask for more than one position, but only one position per family member. List three in order of preference. The High Magister must be a member of a Great House, and preferably the head):TBA (how does this work? The Marshal, Silver Guard, and Commander of the city watch look interresting)
RP sample (1-3): This one is still open The Houses of Thault and it is my only RP since the death of F7 autoprune.
Notes (anything else you want to add): I have not read The Game of Thrones. I find it significantly easier to portray a follower rather than a leader.

I guess I should explain the desired positions.

After you've listed them in the app, select the family member and say which positions you want for that member in order of preference. Then list more if you want more family members in positions but it'll probably be limited to one family member gets a position for now. Will hand out more as needed.

IE. Jon Doe-1)Coinmaster 2)High Chamberlain 3)Master of Daggers
Jack Doe-1)Commander of the Silver Guard 2)Commander of the City Watch 3) Chamberlain
etc.

Only the royal house of Derria (Wallstryn) can have princes and princesses. Later on in the RP you can make a claim for the throne and have William declare himself King and his sons Princes. But that would result in open warfare with the royal house. Don't do it right away though. There has to be some scheming first. Automatically accepted once you remove the Prince title.

Ok, just make sure you let me know when its finished. Make a post or PM me. Reading Game of Thrones is not a requirement for this RP and you can take a great house if you want. But if not you can always be a vassal for me!

Name of House: House Maekar
Banner of House (describe or post a picture):

Image

Brief Description of House: House Maekar is a young house, formed between a coalition of towns and villages that sought a need for dcommon protection and strength in unity. The founding values were of unity, loyalty, and courage. However, the towns and cities often were town to be fanatically loyal to their liege lord, and are often commented as insane in battle. The House still is forming, slowly amalgamating more and more land as it slowly creeps towards becoming a more major house. As of now, they are noted as a medium-ranking faction, but for the sake of the Maerkars, they grow slowly and steadily, excersising caution in their acquisitions.
If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: Loyal, but with increasing power and the attentions of a growing personal kingdom back home, become wary of Wallstryn's legitimacy.
Head of House (name, age, and sex): Baelor Maekar (46, Male)
Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord
If not a Lord who are you a vassal to (wait for a few Great House apps before you answer): None.
Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): Baelor has been loyal throughout his life, the second brother in the noble Maekar family. Raised to be a commander, his older brother raised to be a lord, he spent his life learning the art of war, and especially how to lay siege to castles, distinguishing himself at the seiges of Altain, Tyress, and Ackron as a fearless commander with a smart and efficient sense of the field.

After the death of his brother due to a training accident where he was crushed by his horse, Baelor took up the family banner and began expanding the kingdom in his brother's name, recruiting and training more soldiers, and ensuring the local populace was well fed, well taken care of, and well protected. By ensuring this, he quickly gained the loyalty of his people and is extremely popular within his home lands, parades and feasts often held in his honour.
Relevant House Members (names, age and sex): Aegean Maekar (18, Male) Tyraen Maekar (22, Male) Ethaen Maekar (26, Male) Lady Isaen Maekar (41, Female) The noble family of house Maekar
Brief Description of other most relevant House Members: See above, all are family. All the sons serve as field commanders for their father, save for Aegean who is learning the trade craft of being a sailor to lead his father's new fleet.
Name of the Land they rule over: Burrowlands
Geography: Incredibly dense forests, dark pines and steep ravines make for a very rich area in terms of resources. Deep lakes are also found, with the only connection to the sea the River Alaer.
Desired Position): None, Baelor is visiting the capitol for a diplomatic visit.
RP sample (1-3): I will post them later. To be honest I could just say I was a member of the former Caeden thread.

You're going to have to be a vassal to somebody if you're an Earl. Just make yourself a Lord/Great House. And I'd prefer you have somebody in your family take a position at court but if you really don't want to its ok.

Name of House: Redglare

Banner of House (describe or post a picture):
Image

House Motto: Prey To None

House Seat: Tydetown

Brief Description of House: The Redglares are a distinguished house and the premier power in the region of Derria men and maps call the Shoals. Legend has it they once ruled their lands as petty kings, though quietly bent the knee to the Wallstryn cause with the coming of Vedrion the Great. Tracing their lineage back to the Age of Darkness, the Redglare’s rise to prominence allegedly began when a mythic ancestor, Clifton Redglare, ousted the infamous Shoal King Allard the Bold and took his lands, daughter and motto. As a result, the Redglares have always been proud of their fiercely forged heritage. Perhaps, some mutter, overly so.

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: As Derrias royal family, the Wallstryns enjoy the loyalty of a wide range of noble houses, and the Redglares are certainly amongst them. In the days of Telvion II’s grandsire, a Redglare even served in the Silver Guard. The violent excesses of that selfsame Telvion II however, coupled with his offspring’s madness, have put that loyalty under strain. If House Redglare harbors resentment toward House Wallstryn though, it is wise enough to keep it to itself. For now.

Head of House (name, age, and sex): Marwyn Redglare, 50 years, male.

Nobility Ranking (Lord, Earl, Count, Baron, Knight): Lord

Brief Description of Head of House (history, personality, appearance): As a man in his early fifties, Marwyn Redglare has been the head of his house for the past 15 years. Those years have taken their toll, and while there is nothing to say on his personal health, his days as a tourney champion are far behind him. His brown flyaway hair has receded in a wide bald patch atop his head, leaving a short bristly beard to dominate his chin. As far as personality goes he is a shrewd, capable man with a stubborn streak as wide as the Kings Road.

Relevant House Members (names, age and sex):
Elmar Redglare, 43, Marwyn’s younger brother. Uncle to Clynton and Megan.
Clynton Redglare, 19, Marwyn’s son and heir.
Megan Shoals, 26, Marwyn’s natural daughter.
Nolan Salter, 17, his ward.

Brief Description of other most relevant House Members:

Elmar Redglare is his brother Marwyn’s right hand, and known behind his back as Elmar the Vain. There is a hint of something dark in his personality, but he hides it extremely well. In his youth, he won fame fighting Corsairs on the Stepstones.

Clynton Redglare is his father’s eldest heir, and has sense enough to know how important that makes him. He is a noted fan of sailing and other maritime pursuits, and captained the skiff that won last year's Barter Bay regatta.

Megan Shoals is a boisterous, bright-eyed young woman with hair like polished amber and her mother’s vivid freckles. Gossip casts her as a known flirt, particularly - oddly enough - towards other ladies of the court.

Nolan Salter is a ward from a prominent Redglare bannerman, House Salter, and a close friend of Clynton Redglare. He has a noted interest in more scholarly persuits, and can't hold his drink to save his life.

Name of the Land they rule over: The Shoals.

Geography: West and north of the Crownlands stretches the wide saltflats and windswept shore of the Shoals. Once home to the wily and tempestuous Shoal Kings, it is now the domain of House Redglare, with all banners sworn to Lord Marwyn Redglare of Barter Bay. Today men of the Shoals trace their lineage back to a king willing to battle pirates and willful enough to come out on top. It has hillsides dotted with wind-carved castles, shorelines strewn with ship-breaking sandbars, and saltlicks teeming with legions of birds and mosquitoes. It is a hard land, from which come hard people, and its lords still settle more arguments with crossbows than courtly debate.

Desired Position:
Marwyn Redglare – 1) High Magister, 2) Coinmaster, 3) Chamberlain
Elmar Redglare – 1) Commander of the City Watch, 2) Silver Guardsman, 3) Chamberlain
Megan Shoals - 1) Chamberlain, 2) ?, 3) ?

RP sample (1-3): I seldom roleplay on Nationstates, preferring instead to lurk and comment. The best example of how I write outside this application can probably be found here.

Notes (Anything else you want to add): A list of Redglare bannermen include, in no particular order, the noble houses Salter, Coleyn, Havelock, Moresby, Daunter and Whiteacre.

Notes (anything else you want to add): You TG'd me, I came. Enough said, sir.

Name of House: Redglare

Banner of House (describe or post a picture):

If not mentioned, brief description of House's relationship and feelings towards House Wallstryn: As Derrias royal family the Wallstryns enjoy the loyalty of a wide range of noble houses, and the Redglares are certainly amongst them.

He is a noted fan of sailing and other marine pursuits, and captained the skiff that won last year's Barter Bay regatta.

Elmar Redglare – 1) Commander of the City Watch, 2) Silver Guardsman 3) Chamberlain
Megan Shoals - 1) Chamberlain, 2) ? 3) ?

RP sample (1-3): I seldom roleplay on Nationstates, preferring instead to lurk and comment. The best example of how I write outside this application can probably be found here.

Notes (Anything else you want to add): None.

Accepted. Arcerion, I wanted to do your other Game of Thrones Rp but can't find it. Did you give up on that idea?

EDIT: Nvm, found it.

Btw I'm only handing out one position per House for now. I'll give more out as needed once the RP starts.

Thanks for accepting me. I may change my house's banner before this kicks off. Will that be a problem?

Nope, but it looks pretty cool anyways. What is it exactly and how did you make it?

I think it's meant to be House Karstark's white sunburst, with the sun peeking forth from behind a cloud. I came across it on a random site, copied it to my harddrive and used Paint to color the sun's rays red.
