Background:
Join the ranks of the brave members of the Imperial Guard, Mankind’s warriors who fight the enemies of the Imperium all across the galaxy. Independently, a single Human soldier is weak, inefficient and fragile. But together, they are strong and powerful. But above all, they are fearless. Trained to fight in unknown environments, against terrible and powerful enemies, the Imperial Guard is the thin line between civilization and destruction. The Imperial Guard fight everything from Dark Eldar pirates, to terrible creatures of Chaso, Xenos armies, to blasphemous traitors, the men and women of the Imperial Guard are the shield and sword of the Imperium.
Despite being spread so thin and consisting of great variety, the men and women of the Imperial Guard share many similarities. Brotherhood, honor, discipline; all are know throughout the echelons of the Imperial Guard.
OOC:
In this RP, you will be a single soldier of the Imperial Guard ranging anywhere from a standard trooper, to a master marksmen, or even a priest. You could be stationed anywhere in the Galaxy, fighting anything and everything. You will be apart of a detachment of Guardsmen: The players themselves. Whether you choose to work together or fight by yourself, that is up to you to decide. Will you become the next Tanith First and Only? Or perhaps will you turn up like the infamous Last Chancers? That is up to fate.
There is a large variety of groups that exist in the Imperial Guard, such as the Tallarn Desert Rangers or Elysian Drop Troopers. All have their own independent identification and style, as will the Victors. The Victors is the name of the regiment that you will be apart of under the command by Colonel-Commissar Hess. What makes them unique, is that members of the Victors are from all sorts of different backgrounds and other regiments. Each member joined voluntarily, as only certain Guardsmen were given the option to join.
Now, many things are open for discussion and consideration at the moment. The missions that will happen, along with the name of the regiment (The Victors is a placeholder, I do not personally like it much) is up to everyone to decide. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to toss them out.
Rules:
1. As usual, no godmodding. I will not tolerate it.
2. I do not mind if you kill some NPC's in battle. But if there is, for example, a group of Eldar commanded by one Seer, you cannot just kill the Seer in a single post. In short, important or seemingly important characters cannot be 'killed'. You must attempt it.
3.Use. Proper. Grammar. In. Every. Post. I understand that some people may not know how to spell a word and may be short on time, so they use their best judgement. Or perhaps there is a player who does not know English very well, and they are doing their best with using proper grammar. In short, do your best. Also, no one-liners. I want at least a few sentences.
4. I am the God-Emperor. Okay, not really, but I control what happens. If I want to kill your character right off the bat, I can. If I want to arm you with a stick and put you up against several million Orks, I can. Remember that. I also am the one who controls all NPC's.
5. Be reasonable in your application. You are not an ex-Space Marine who took out an Ork army by themselves. You are just a regular Human Guardsmen.
6.Treat others well. You may not get along with the other players, but be nice.
7. Please do your best to post often. I understand things get in the way, but don't post once and come back a month later.
8.These rules are subject to change, so please understand that.

Biography and Personality (Not too long, just some basics): Hess was born on Dekees world, a planet far on the fringes of Imperium Space. At age fifteen, Hess joined the Schola Progenium after his father was killed while serving in the Imperial Guard. His mother was devastated, and she eventually abandoned Hess. Hess, with no where to go, stuck around the Imperial Guard post, where some of his fathers friends were. The Schola Progenium found him, and scooped him up into their grasp. He had a couple of options to enroll in, and he followed in his fathers footsteps as a Commissar. He was iron-willed, intelligent, and somewhat well-liked. He proved to be a good Commissar; one that was admired, yet feared at the same time.
He served with many Imperial Guard regiments; ranging from fellow experienced men, to fresh new recruits. He has been apart of regular search and rescue missions, to being in the center of battle. Hess has been up against with Chaos face to face, and has always had a deep hatred for them. They were against the God-Emperor in every way, and Hess would not stand for that.
In one particular engagement, Hess was captured for one night by deserter Guardsmen. Hess was trying to root them out for days, until they finally found him one night while he slept. They knocked him cold, and brought him to a deserted trench, where they proceeded to use a captured Chaos portable torture glove on him. The glove emitted three tiny needles that would be inserted into muscle, eliminating their use. The three traitor Guardsmen were able to use the glove on him for a short time, making it extremely hard for Hess to smile. So now he constantly wears a scowl on his face, to his dismay.
He eventually found the three men and detained them until he met up with an Inquisitor that was on the planet, following a lead. With the Inquisitor, he had the men burned alive to purify their souls of their supposed Chaos taint. Some Guardsmen speculated he waited for an Inquisitor to come along to burn them for revenge. Hess himself does not know if he did it for revenge.
Most recently, Hess was assigned to the Dekees world 22th Riflemen Regiment, on a backwater planet fighting off Orks that threatened the capital city. They took heavy casualties, particularly amongst officers. The commanding officer eventually broke, and was executed by Hess. Now, Hess had to take command of the decimated regiment. Gathering up the survivors, he told them how it was. They were all most likely going to die, but they would die as heroes to Dekees world and to the Emperor. The men, somewhat inspired, followed Hess into battle. After thirty seven minutes of fierce fighting, they emerged victorious. But with the majority of the regiment almost nearly wiped out. The survivors were given medals, commendations, and were sent back on their way. But Hess was promoted to a certain, rare duel-rank. Colonel-Commissar.
He was given the option to create his own regiment, which he quickly jumped at. After creating a simple list of candidates, he had them sent to regiments that were willing to give up men to him.
