"Well I lost track of most of our merry group. Boran's dead last I heard. Thief's guild caught up with him I think. Babbette's still somewhere up north. Fianna has her own damn coven now. I'm here, and you're still trying to get yourself killed."

He turned down the tunnel.

"Also, you lot are some prize idiots. Four thousand to besiege six thousand? Twenty six thousand to fight twenty eight thousand? I mean for crying out loud, you can't win a fight like this."

"Poor girl. Always thought I should've took her with me down south. Closest thing I ever had to a daughter, as you know. Immortal, but hey, you can't pick your family." Aladur saw the end of the tunnel soon, so he prodded Benyamin to go a little faster.

"And Fiana. Damn the Gods, she never listened, did she? She wastes that perfect Breton beauty."

Benyamin Do'urden
The Dark Brotherhood
Bravil, Cryodiil

Benyamin shrugged as he stepped out into the night, about a hundred feet beyond the walls of the city, coming up through a hollow tree stump.

"It's her life. But for the love of all that is living I never understood her decision to go all... witch-y. She could have made a fortune on herbal remedies and the like. Started a business, been a cornerstone in general stores throughout the Empire. Speaking of the Empire, how's your Dominion buddies doing?"

"I joined up when it looked like we could win this godsdamned war. Leyawiin was a good start, but this Bravil is a hard stump to uproot. I've been inside before. It's not like it's built for a seige. If we just rained Oblivion down on them it would be a lot easier. The buildings are made of wood!" Aladur rubbed his temples in stress.

"But aside from that, they're doing swell. It's nice to see so many others who share my opinion on the Empire... All these years in a formal military have made me a little rusty, however."

Telindar began. "As the Thalmor primarily rely on magic to back themselves up, Leyawinn proved this, we should counter this. Without the ability to use effectively use their magic, the Thalmor shall lose their greatest and only strength in tactics. Rather than giving our legionaries a sword to charge at, we should make them stand at a distance. Anybody not strongly warded or has enchanted armor has an ensured death when charging at a mage with a sword. My idea is, to get the Legion to rely more on the bow, arrow, and javelin rather than the sword. We can place small groups of skirmishers in forests to harrass and demoralise the Thalmor even after they've conquered the city. If we have the resources, we should train more mages in mysticism to even further counter Thalmor spells."

Mist-Walker was glad that he was appointed to a general, though he wished it was under better circumstances. He understood the crowd's lack of enthusiasm for the appointment of a nonhuman, let- alone a non-Imperial. But Mist-Walker could not understand the reasoning behind the appointment of a high elf. Mist-Walker contemplated for a moment, was he being hypocritical? He dismissed the idea, the empire isn't fighting Argonians, they are fighting the dominion. Mist-Walker was sure there were some trustworthy high elves, but they shouldn't be taking that risk especially for someone in this high of a position. However, Mist-Walker didn't verbally object, no need to draw opposition to his promotion this early and show disunity among the legion.

He listened quietly as Telindar explained his opinions on new strategy. He agreed with him reluctantly, he didn't trust him, but he was still right. Mist-Walker replied, "He's right. When I was trying to defend Leyawiin we had a losing fight. The only time anything seem hopeful was when we could draw their soldiers inside buildings for close-range combat or when our battlemages were holding a gate. Unfortunately, with our current strategies, the only way we can beat their forces is if we vastly outnumber them in which the dominion will still cause a great deal of casualties. And sending skirmishers sounds like a grand idea. Only we should send them farther South, if possible we should try to sneak our men as far South as Esweyr. Send veteran legionnaires or blades into their own territory to hit their supply lines, that way they will be forced to send troops to guard their own territory which would mean less troops in Cyrodiil. I am willing to offer my own legion to do this task to try to get some of these soldiers off of our other legions. If you could provide a small amount of blades to help organize the fifth into bands of skirmishers we will be able to strike them away from Cyrodiil."
