[NSGS] Democratic Left [Official HQ]

Postby The Democratic Left Central Committee » Wed Dec 10, 2014 2:48 pm

"I am opposing a social order in which it is possible for one man who does absolutely nothing that is useful to amass a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars, while millions of men and women who work all the days of their lives secure barely enough for a wretched existence."
- Eugene V. Debs

Party Membership

Postby The Democratic Left Central Committee » Wed Dec 10, 2014 2:49 pm

Image

In order to become a member of our party, all you have to do is be accepted into the Senate, which you can do here. Then all you have to do is make a request to join the party in this thread and an appropriate official will accept you. However be forewarned that if you are disrespectful towards other members we will not hesitate to boot you from our party. Unless as a sidenote the player behind Greater Weselton is banned.

Central Committee

Postby The Democratic Left Central Committee » Wed Dec 10, 2014 2:49 pm

The Central Committee are the leaders or our party, elected every month by all active party members. They are charged with keeping the OP up-to-date, representing our party with other parties, and releasing statements on behalf of the party. Anyone member may run. Our next election is not scheduled into January 2015.

    ROLES ON THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Chairman - the leader of the party. Represents us in dealing with other parties. Is responsible for keeping our platform and constitution up to date, whenever the Party President is unavailable to do so, and, put frankly, makes sure the other posts in the leadership do their jobs (within reason, of course. Legitimate reasons for absence are, understandably, legitimate). His proposals for changes to the party platform or constitution require only two supporters instead of three before they can be voted on.

President - the second-in-command of the party. Also plays a vital role in representing our party, but more importantly, the President is responsible for keeping the platform and party constitution organized and updated with all modifications that the Party has approved. They're, so to speak, a one-man bureaucracy. Naturally, they're also responsible for the Party's topic's first post.

Chief Whip - responsible for making sure that the party votes on bills in line with the party line on that particular given bill. Naturally, he's also responsible for informing the party what the party's stance on that said bill is. Party stances on bills will be determined by vote among the entire party leadership - Chairman, President, Chief Whip and the spokespeople - without any one member having a more important say than the others.

Spokespeople for Economic Policy, Social Policy, and Foreign Policy - these people will be responsible for outlining our party's views, in accordance with our platform, whenever it is necessary to make statements on behalf of the entire party. Furthermore, it is expected that the spokespeople for their respective fields will take interest in them, so they are also responsible for providing the party with balanced, argumented suggestions on what stances the party should take in one or another situation.

CURRENT STANDINGS OF THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE

    Chairman - Mollary
    President - Malgrave
    Chief Whip - Mollary
Spokesperson for Economic Policy - Atlanticatia
Spokesperson for Social Policy - Bandwagon
Spokesperson for Foreign Policy - Unicario
    Youth Organisation Chairman - Unicario

You are a member of a party whose platform can be shortened to "toothpaste".

You really don't get to criticise. :p
