Why American Thanksgiving? Nobody in the world other than Americans celebrate it, and Americans aren't a very large majority in the Senate's active membership roll, if a majority at all.

^^

The Senate has had, in terms of this website, a disproportionately high number of British, European and Canadian members, among others. Thanksgiving might not work.

Even so, there are a majority of Americans on this website, and if we want to stage this correctly, we must take Thanksgiving into partial consideration.

Ha! Two of those are common law jurisdictions and someone still has forced us to use civil — absolutely vacant of what the next incarnation is, I will only be satisfied when we effect the effective legal system.

This depends. Who are we targeting? If it's the kind who were involved with Aurentina, then we want to consider non-Americentric perception of time more strongly. If we're looking for new people, then... I mean, in that case I don't think there's really an estimable time to start at all, since people are not only joining NS all the time but their chances of joining the Senate will be independent of what time of year they come round in.

Regardless of when we start, we won't be getting anywhere without advertisement. I suggest starting after Novemeber so the ad can be published in the Fall NS Improviser, and furthermore that other efforts be made to engage people in the interest of the Senate. A cleverly designed NSG thread, for example: does the NSG Senate encourage massacre? and what the bible and feminism say about congressional simulations in Forum 7

English Common Law makes a lot more sense if the location is say, Vestmark. Aurentina on the other hand, Civil Law made more sense due to it's history.

Regardless, the law type should reflect the location and culture of the nation we will be using.

Summer 2014 received 45 reads, and in total 2 hours, 2 minutes, and 32 seconds was spent reading it. A link to it was seen 355 times, be that on NS, shared by someone else, or suggested to other readers by the host site. That's about a 13% interest rate in the past 30 days.
Spring 2014 has had 59 reads, total reading time 04:05:53, or 4 minutes, 9 seconds on average per reader. It was suggested or available 958 times in the past 30 days, giving it a 6.1% interest rate.
These statistics are from the past thirty days. Summer 2014 was strong in art and copyediting but weak in its writing. Fall 2014 is seeing a new copyeditor, arts editor, and poetry editor, which should hopefully increase the quality of the publication. If we can maintain our sponsorship with the Rejected Times, marketing should go as well as usual.

So, on the matter of how many people would see the ad at the back of the Improviser: between twenty and sixty within the primary releases. How many would be attracted to the Senate? Maybe four, at best.

I've got a remarkable idea for our reboot. Instead of a country or a government, we do an executive board of a soy milk company: the MSG Senate.

I know Quebec uses civil and Canada is technically interjurisdictional, but by-and-large it practices common law. Louisiana, for example, uses civil law, but who would argue that the US can't acceptably be called a common law jurisdiction?
