Most RPs of this type need reboots. Very few even last close to a year without one. The reboots usually feature a beginning situation that is different enough from that of the previous incarnation to keep people interested, but not different enough to turn the group's RPers off to continuing on with the reboot.
Aurentina was a great success, but you still can't expect it to last forever. We should be proud of what we accomplished.

It had been failing since late 2013, but nobody did much about it because we thought we'd get a subforum if we could last a year. When we didn't even make a bid for one because the mods had unofficially said no, everybody just have up basically.

I really thought activity levels were fine during my first term as president, but they really tanked during my second term.
We wouldn't have really made good use of a subforum anyway, given how few people were actively engaged in the Senate by April.
I'll definitely miss being a politician if we do decide to just let it die, but I probably won't get involved in another RP on another site with another set of rules and an established community. I just don't have the energy to start from the bottom again.

We're not going to let it die right now. The decline we've experienced with Baltonia was not dissimilar to what happened with Aurentina, it just happened sooner in the nation's history and more abruptly. We can definitely come up with new ideas, or at least keep brainstorming for a while. Declaring it dead right here, right now, today, only makes sense if you've given up on the RP anyway. And there are people who haven't. If it turns out that we have to kill it at some point, we're going to go with dignity and with commemoration.

If it's not dead, then it's certainly dying. Like TLT said, let's have a break for a few months and then come back and create a new senate.

I strongly dislike this answer, but it seems like even the most active people are being defeatist, and if they don't stick around, there's not much to do. I'm not an idiot, and so I'm inclined to agree to a degree.
Baltonia is on life support. We don't need to bother too much with trying to revive it in particular, but we shouldn't ignore an organic surge if that does indeed happen. What we can do is talk and brainstorm, and there's no point in stopping that activity. In terms of getting a full RP up again, yes, we'll be taking a break. A few months might be a bit long, it may not.
As for death with dignity, we can start to apply that to Baltonia now. We can even go back to commemorating Aurentina if we wish. But this roleplay as a concept, and as something to flourish again, is not dead.

I would like to see a restart in Aurentina.

A bit more of the legislative effects and process, then. Good point, thanks.New Zepuha wrote:I'd like to see a return there because more was possible and gave those of us who wanted to RP the chance to express the woes of the people better.
