Not long after, they were running back over me, an odd strategy to fight a land far away from their own, but the men of that land came to them.
I guess they agreed to settle the fight on me.
The men, the ones that were born close to me, started digging into me, digging trenches, wide and long.
I still don't know what they were digging for.
Then the men born further away came, and marched up me to meet the men born closer to me.
They dressed up in different uniforms, prayed to different Gods, even fought differently, which made it easy to tell them apart.
However, their screams tended to sound very alike, you'd think they would scream different too.
Their rifles, machine guns and bayonets when shoved into another man made such ghastly noises, combined with the screams, I couldn't rest.
Only the quite winters gave me rest, and even then, the little snipers woke me every odd day.
Red liquid, like wine, but more sticky, pooled in the cracks, crevices and trenches in me.

- Words inscribed on a stone obelisk found on a small Gorgashian mountain particularly close to the Arcadian border. While most of these obelisks tend to give helpful advice or commandments to Mountain-Gorgashi tribes, this one in particular gained notoriety by having nothing but what appears to be that mountain's account of the Great War. Mountain-Gorgashi that tried to commune with the mountain after this was discovered have either gone insane or claim that the mountain is 'empty,' as in, it's spirit appears to be absent.
Most Gorgashians tend to avoid it, and similar Gorgashian mountains near Arcadia, nowadays.
