We encourage our neighbors to build a digitized military by selling them top of the line computers and C4I equipment, including GPS and Blue Force Tracking. Then we hack all their stuff and watch the fun as they blow themselves up with our false targeting commands. Our troops don't have life any better than that, especially when they play battle ball with the prisoners.

Since Phisych University is a floating city, the average Phisychian would be freaked out by the many swamps of Mackonia alone. That being said, in terms of 'custom,' the only difference between Mackonia and Phisych University is that the police state of Phisych University is somewhat more efficient and Phisych University's rebellious factions much less competent than Mackonia's.

I guess you could say the average Phisychian statesman would sneer at Mackonia, while the Phisychian dissenter would look upon it with envy.

(Well, writing from what I believe Mackonia's current state is. The meritocratic republic would likely change perspectives quite about. We'd still find the swamps to be hard to be accustomed to. Although, from what I've read, the cities don't sound too bad by Phisychian standards).

The main reason why we seem obsessed with wealth and a general affluence for the whole population is a mere side effect from being obsessed with pragmatism and functionality.
