Britanno wrote:I agree with GN, the original bill was really only a temporary measure because we weren't actually getting paid, and we needed a quick initiate to stop senators creaking towards corruption.

We should also add a clause stating that the senate can block a pay rise, but not a decrease in pay. This will stop the outrageous situation that has recently occurred in the UK.

Well it's not actually needed, unlike the UK we don't have a pay commission that decides our pay. We decide it ourselves using bills. Any bill on senators pay needs to be passed, so we have the right to block both increases and decreases. It also means that a clause that blocks us from blocking a decrease in pay efectivly means that any bill that reduces our pay we have to vote for. An extreme example might be that five senators introduce a bill cutting our pay to £1 a year. Under the clause you suggest we would have to vote for the bill thus leaving us with £1 a year salary opening us up to corruption and leading senators to have to be wealthy to enter politics to survive.

If we had a a commission, a change to our salary wouldn't be in a bill, so we wouldn't vote on it. If the commission wanted to increase our salaries, and we thought that was wrong, we could block it.

Terrorist Organisations Control Act
A Second Amendment to the 23 November Act

The Senate of the Aurentine Commonwealth,

Noting that the Freedom Whig Movement was a major actor in the violence of the 23rd of November ("Bloody Saturday"),

Regretting the senseless loss of life caused by the reckless actions of the Freedom Whigs and Aurentine Secret Patriotic Movement,

Noting that the Aurentine Secret Patriotic Movement has been outlawed due to its actions on that day,

Realising that the Freedom Whigs were equally complicit in the deadly riots,

Decrying the lack of action against this clearly terrorist group as a result of scapegoating blame on the ASPM,

Hereby declares the Freedom Whigs, whether this be their formal or informal name, a terrorist and illegal organisation.

Limitation of Bureaucracy Act
Category: Miscellaneous | Urgency: Low | Author: Prime Minister Robert Glasgia [MSP] | Sponsors: Great Nepal [NCP], Senator Jameson T. Pace [Ind.], Minister Haelunor [R-G], Senator Jän Stuaart [LPA], Senator Jessica Coren [RFP], Minister Erich Malgrave [MSP]

RECOGNISING: That the Ministry of Culture and Sports, alongside the Ministry of Customs, represents an unnecessary bureaucracy which could be far more efficiently handled by other departments within the government.

THEREFORE: Passes the Limitation of Bureaucracy Act to eliminate aforementioned unnecessary bureaucracy and create a more efficient government.

Article I.
Abolition of the Ministry of Culture and Sports

I. Hereby dissolves the Ministry of Culture and Sports, striking the following line - "The Ministry of Culture and Sports, with the task of protecting the cultural heritage of the country, promoting cultural and sportive activities and expression, manage cultural and sports agencies and organizations." - from the Ministry Foundation Act and declaring that line to be null and void.
II. Transfers all powers and personnel of the former Ministry of Culture and Sports, that were involved in education related tasks, to the Ministry of Education and allows the leadership of the former Ministry of Culture and Sports to allocate the appropriate funds for such a change
III. Therefore transcends all other powers and personnel of the former Ministry of Culture and Sports to local governments, to be divided as the leadership of the former Ministry of Culture and Sports seems fit
IV. Recommends all employees displaced by such transfers for preference upon application for vacant positions in government, if they apply within their speciality

Article II.
Abolition of the Ministry of Customs

I. Hereby dissolves the Ministry of Customs, declaring the executive order that established it to be null and void.
II. Establishes the Department of Customs and Immigration, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior
III. Transfers all powers, personnel and finances of the former Ministry of Customs to the Department of Customs and Immigration

STATING: That such transfers have already been established in practice through executive decree, but shall be immediately corrected if this bill is to be struck down.

What a useless waste of government time.

All they'll do is reform under another name and brand. You'd be better off declaring the ideology illegal, which is authoritarian as fvck and not something I support.
