Background: Senator Kourie is not a natural-born citizen of this nation, instead he was born in the minor nation of 'The United Kingdom', a far-away state with little to do with world politics in 1943. From an early age he had always been involved in outdoors activities and by 18 he had developed a reputation in the local community for being a no-nonsense individual who could be relied upon to...mediate problems. He joined the British Army in 1961, and served as an Officer until 2005, where he resigned his commission as a Major General. During his time in the military he had served in the Dhofar Rebellion, Aden Emergency, Ireland, Borneo, The Falklands, Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo and the Fourth Anglo-Afghan War, where he notably lost an arm from the elbow down.

When he finished fighting for his country he realised he couldn't do it any longer, and moved to Aurentina, the land of his mother, and took up a post in what was the old family business before she moved to Britain: Arms Manufacturing. Meeting Hans Freedom in 2011, he stood for the 2013 Elections in Kapsteed and took the position of Senator.

His Socialist ideals have always stood him in good stead, his no-bullshit attitude has helped shed the bureaucracy surrounding some of the most stupid aspects of government, and his experience in the army has been a great help in organising the Proletarian Protection Force to ensure the security of the titular social class against the oppression of the Dictatorship of the Bourgeois. Now 70, he fights for justice, freedom and mum's own crumpets with tea against the class enemies: whether it be on the field of battle or in a a senate meeting. His constant focus on exercise, to ensure 'his body is ready: will theirs be?' for the true fight against the bourgeois, has meant that despite his age he is still active, and his mind is relatively undulled by time.

She graduated from Lord Mountbatten Secondary School in Mulenhaim in June 2001, at the age of 15. She is the youngest person to graduate the school in it's history. She then attended the University of Leipzig on a scholarship she mysteriously achieved from an unknown source (later found to be her father) in the same year. She attended Leipzig University for 12 years, and received a Doctorate in 2013, while sitting as a Senator. She became the Mayor of the City of Mulenhaim in 2006, and was elected to the Senate in 2011, on the National Imperialist ticket.

She is the last of her adopted family, but will honor their memory by making Aurentina the best possible country it can be, no matter the cost.

She discovered on 2012 that she is the daughter of Christian-Sigismund and the Countess. She has inherited a very large wealth from both lawsuits and other amenities. She has a total of 10million Euros from this, complete ownership of the Berg Hohenzollern, and has contested her cousin's right to call himself "Head of Hohenzollern", which the German high courts have ruled in his favor thus far. Both of her biological parents are still alive. Her father is well into his sixties, and her mother is nearly 60.

She is bisexual and an avid supporter of LGBTQ rights for all people.

On July 4, 2013, she resigned from the National Imperialist Freedom Party and became an independent, due to personal reasons and feeling like she no longer belonged in the political system that made up the NIFP. She then joined the Red-Greens. She has run for President twice, as well. She withdrew from the race both times to support leftist candidates. She has considered several times over the course of her career to form a Social Democrat party much like the German "Die Linke" or "SDP", but has yet to put such a plan into action due to party loyalty.

In September 2013, she became the Minister of Education.

Her first name, Alexandra, comes from the mixture of her mother, her ancestor, Queen Victoria, and the "greatest Russian monarch in modern history", who is also one of her distant cousins (post mortem), Alexander II.

At school, James was an apt public speaker and linguist, and as such received some of the highest marks in the country for English and Aurentine.   As an ardent pacifist, I believe in minimising the arsenal of the nation, so this isn't something I'd choose were I in power alone. However, government is all about agreement and compromise, so I'm just about open to weaponry in space if we can prove it'll be less destructive to ordinary civilians than traditional methods. However, the ideas you have proposed both displease me greatly; I don't like the use of nuclear weapons at all (despite not minding them as a deterrent) and both ideas seem prohibitively expensive when we still have many problems to solve here in Aurentina.

Background: Senator Canton was born on the 17th Janruary 1987. He grew up in Jenning as the only child of a British mother and Aurentine father. His parents were wealthy, both coming from old money, however he never felt completely comfortable living the life of the rich. He was never exceptional in school, achieving mostly average grades although he did have a passion for history and politics and achieved high marks in both. He was active as a child and played a variety of sports, particularly football and running. After leaving school he moved away from Jenning to Zalken. Despite the fact that he would inherit a fortune from his parents when they died he made his own money. He initially made money through working in a call centre and investing what money he made. He made smart investments and eventually he had made sufficient money to start his own company. In 2008 he founded his company, Teras Motors, who specialised in building lightweight high-performance sports cars. Although his company doesn't produce a large number of cars his product proved popular. He was heavily involved in the local community and was eager to help the people of the area, becoming very well liked in what would become his constituency. He has always disliked seeing people suffering so he puts much of his earnings into programs that help the nation's most vulnerable citizens. Despite being relatively well off and the heir to a his parents fortune he has always made a point of living modestly, his only extravagance being his love of cars. When the nation became independent he was crucial in setting up a temporary town watch in his constituency which helped prevent crime and kept political paramilitaries out of the area. When the new government was formed he was elected to the senate with an large majority despite being relatively young. As soon as he was elected he joined what would become known as the Totally Rad Party. He stayed with the party until after the first presidential election when he resigned before forming the New Social Party with William Updale, which later became the Progressive Monarchist Party.

  Crime is obviously something every governments should be looking to reduce. The best way to go about this is to identify why people commit crimes. Numerous studies have shown that poverty is a primary cause of crime. The government should look to reduce this through giving disadvantaged children the best education possible so they aren't dragged into the criminal underworld. If people do go to jail then we need to focus on rehabilitating them if possible and allowing them to become a productive member of society.
