My first attempt at any kind of WA resolution, so looking for constructive advice on getting this approved for a nation that is very worthy.

Draft: Commend Starblaydia

People of the World Assembled,

RECOGNIZING that sports play a varying role of importance amongst member nations,

REALIZING that through international sports, nations can enjoy peaceful yet competitive relationships with one another,

BELIEVING that assembling and organizing international activities over a sustained period of time requires commendable dedication to providing the world a strong playing field and allows nations of all economic levels to have a chance for sporting glory,

HEREBY DECLARES that the nation of Starblaydia has proven to be worthy of such commendation by the World Assembly for the following reasons:

a) The nations leadership openly encourages aspiring sporting nations to participate to their full ability by providing them with the information they need to succeed at the international level.

b) On four separate occasions, Starblaydi citizens have been elected President of the World Cup Committee, with terms ranging from World Cups 25-28, 29-31, 32-34, and 45-48; by their peers in the World Cup Committee. This demonstrates that the nation has been supportive for a long period of time. The World Cup is recognized by the sports’ playing world as being the premier sporting competition that takes place. Forty-six successful editions have been completed which in itself is a commendable accomplishment. The forty seventh was in process at the time of the proposed commendation, and many more are expected.

c) National leadership successfully re-codified the World Cup Constitution and provided the guidelines for participation in a friendly FAQ format.

d) Assists organizers of competitions in other sports other then World Cup, providing helpful advice on how their sport can achieve equivalent success. This has occurred now in other major sports.

e) Outside of the sporting world, the nation is viewed favorably, with excellent political freedoms and strong civil rights.

Therefore, COMMENDS the nation of Starblaydia for its much respected role in not only the world of sports, but the world, in general.

After careful perusal of the wording of this proposal and the content contained therein, the Bettian delegate gives this two thumbs up - the contributions made by this nation to the organisation of sports within NS has been immense.

I think for outsiders to NS Sports, b) may prove a little opaque. I'd suggest splitting it down into a few shorter subclauses, such as:

"Starblaydia has been elected President of the World Cup Committee, widely recognised as the world's leading sports body, over a range of periods..."

"Starblaydia is the only nation to host all three WCC events in a single cycle" (I think)

"Starblaydia has leant their experience to promote the development of other international sporting competitions..."

"Starblaydia is simply super..."

etc. I'd also suggest cutting e), which is true but really rather insipid.

It was my idea to do all three WC events in one cycle and Kry very kindly co-hosted alongside me. He had, though, no official co-hosting duties over BoF27 (bar being my back-up should I have vanished), while we shared WC40 and CoH32 between us.

This will be an interesting proposal. Surely Starblaydia meets the requirements, but only in the NS Forum. WA will give more credit to the forum or to the NS events in game???
