Liberate England
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region.

Category: Liberation | Nominee: England | Proposed by: Wrapper

Acknowledging the peaceful native community of England;

Appalled that the forces of The Kingdom of Great Britain, having treacherously circumnavigated the border controls enacted by the previous administration, have invaded and now occupy England;;

Disappointed by the destruction of embassies with other peaceful regions;

Fearful that, without Security Council intervention, the region may be refounded by hostile forces, thereby destroying its rich history;

Hereby Liberates England.

Co-authored by Neop.

Neop has abandoned his draft and allowed me to use it as a basis for this version, in exchange for a co-author credit. Liberation has native support. Time to move on this one.

The use of the SC header is completely ruined by the lack of the "Description:" in front of the proposal's text. I am now horrified to have discovered that the new WA format removed the "Description:" part, robbing me of this joke. :P
Acknowledging the peaceful native community of England;

Appalled by the occupation led by the forces of The Kingdom of Great Britain, which treacherously circumnavigated border controls enacted by the previous administration;

This clause almost made me throw up (it may be the amount of turkey I've eaten though). The passive voice is strong with this one. Suggested edit:
Appalled that the forces of The Kingdom of Great Britain have invaded and now occupy England, having treacherously circumnavigated the border controls enacted by the previous administration;

Disappointed by the destruction of embassies with other peaceful regions;

Confident that without Security Council intervention, the region may be refounded by hostile forces, thereby destroying its rich history;

"Confident" doesn't really convey a sense of urgency, and sounds incredibly pompous. "Fearful" or "worried" would work a bit better. I striked a misplaced comma.
Hereby Liberates England.

Lol, so this is incredibly nit-picky, and a possible symptom of OCD, but it bothers me that it is:
Code: Select all
Hereby Liberates [region]England[/region].
instead of
Code: Select all
Hereby Liberates [region]England[/region].

Damn, you guys are harsh! I blame the iPad. Trying to format text on here sucks, so I just gave up and posted what I had. Good input on the wording, though. I'll rework it a bit tomorrow from the PC.

Hi,

First I wanna wish you luck in this proposal but I have a few things to say first. First, I want to thank you for being so appalled by our actions in the taking of England. If you haven't realized it raiders quite enjoy raiding it gives us joy. Sadly, this isn't a condemnation so I don't think that gives us due recognition for what we did. Secondly, we have been there for a whIle and the natives haven't done anything though to be fair I don't think they were doing that much before we got there. Finally, the password to the region is fairly common knowledge so the fact that no one has came in and tried to take the region back is kind of concerning as there is already a proposal to liberate the region when I haven't seen much organization in taking it back. But, I still wish you the best of luck.

Yours,
Heidi Mountbatten

Editing text on iPad is always annoying. I've become partial to the Pencil though. Makes doing creative projects very easy.

I do believe that this is an excellent Liberation, but additionally, if "Repeal 'Liberate Eternal Scholars'" does come to fruition, this Liberation must be prioritized first; England is a lot further down the line of regional destruction than Eternal Scholars, and needs this proposal to be passed before it's too late.

I TG'd Wrapper to try to get him to submit this one so that it can get to queue and be over in case I need to submit my own Liberation.

Apologies for the delay, dealing with a family emergency out of town, and trying to handle simple stuff like editing posts and submitting a proposal from an iPad has been challenging. This has been revised and submitted.

And, of course, while I wasn't paying attention, the region's back in native hands. Sent a TG to Arthur to confirm this is no longer needed or desired.

I personally have some Beef with great britain but of course I cannot be biased. If a nation is unable to protect it's self is unfortunately just destined to fall. I believe that the whole thing could have been prevented if someone was actually monitoring what countries came and went.

'Victim blaming' is not helpful.

Natives have asked to abandon this effort and I have done so. With no campaign it has no chance of making quorum so just going to let it die.
