[PASSED] Repeal "Liberate The NSIA"

Postby Kaboomlandia » Sat Oct 22, 2016 7:47 am

Repeal "Liberate The NSIA"

The Security Council,

Noting that in mid-October 2016, a Security Council Liberation was deployed offensively against The NSIA, a Nazi stronghold, in preparation for a military operation to take over the region and lock it down, preventing it from being used by Nazis dedicated to spreading their hateful ideology,

Celebrating the accomplishments of a massive interregional coalition, including the regions of Albion, Europeia, HYDRA Command, The Internationale Brigades, The Invaders, Kingdom of Alexandria, The Kingdom of Great Britain, Lazarus, The Order of the Grey Wardens, Osiris, North Korea, The North Pacific, The Red Fleet, Revolutionary Socialist League, The South Pacific, 10000 Islands, United Kingdom, and The West Pacific, that successfully invaded the region on October 21, 2016,

Believing that a fast repeal of the liberation will allow coalition forces to keep Nazis out of the region,

Hereby repeals SC #207, "Liberate The NSIA".

This proposal isn't seeking to repeal the liberation because of the liberation itself being unjust. I drafted up a repeal because the coalition forces invaded it last night and the liberation needs to go before the region can be locked down.

"The Internationale Brigades" is not a region. It should be "The Internationale Brigades" -- that is, members of The Internationale who are not affiliated with a formal military.

As the author of SC#207, I support this proposal to repeal it.

Fixed.

And by "rush", I mean submitting after this minor today.

OUT-OF-CHARACTER:

So I see. (I was about to delete that post, then I worked it out independently!)

IN-CHARACTER: Delegate-Ambassador Smith walks into the room...

I shall be voting AGAINST this resolution, if it makes it to vote. As I has pointed out earlier, SC #207 was a "Liberty" (LIBERation To Invade) - a liberation designed specifically as a vehicle to enable invasion by ideological opponents, as opposed to one designed to force a dictatorial executive delegate into removing their region's password. This liberation must be kept to avoid the misuse of the NSIA brand by both Nazis and Anti-Nazis (although the latter appear more likely to misuse it). If my salary wasn't too low to afford to telegram every nation and delegate in this World Assembly, I would probably propose another Liberation if this succeeds.

This has now been submitted.

Should get a decent handicap from CAIN members on the quorum.

While I can't offer an approval atm, I can still offer my support. I only wish had been able to participate in the operation. What type of jerk professor schedules a midterm on a Saturday morning?

No, my Geology professor scheduled our Lecture midterm and Lab midterm on the same day, despite the fact that they covered different material, but at least that day was Monday. This was Criminology. And I still have an online section I have to finish though so fml.

@Kaboom I would very much suggest you at least start a manual campaign. You're 16 approvals behind, and on the second page of proposals.

Have started my campaign now. About 5% of the way through the delegates list.

EDIT: Ten pages through and a couple of bigger delegates have started approving. I want to give a shoutout to Brunhizzle for helping with that part.

I plan to vote against this proposal. It's distasteful that Europeia is using the Security Council to promote its newest alliance.

The Security Council delegation from the Atlae Isles has decided to vote FOR the repeal of Resolution #207.

They applaud the handling of the situation, but would like the NSIA to be under scrutiny for a short amount of time to make sure the purpose of Resolution #207 is served.

OOC: Normally, I don't support repeals, especially in the General Assembly. But this is the Security Council.

How is listing every region involved in the counter-raid not promoting an alliance, but the failed condemnations that did the same thing (more or less) is? Double standards, much?

(Edit: After re-reading the prior condemnation, it looks like they just listed regions they raided. My point still stands, though. How is it fair for defenders to brag but not for invaders?)

The point of the alliance was to liberate the NSIA. Promoting it is not the purpose here. What the author is doing is recognizing their work in liberating the NSIA.
