Repeal "Liberate The Arab League"

This proposal has been submitted. Please approve here: http://www.nationstates.net/page=UN_vie ... 1464667347

The Security Council,

Recognizing that The Arab League was successfully liberated by Security Council Resolution #198 in order to stop the invasion of the region by Nazi Europa,

Noting that the region is back under the control of its rightful owners due, in part, to the support from SC #198,

Observing that the resolution served its purpose and that the rightful owners of the region wish to have the resolution repealed for, among other reasons, regional security,

Hereby repeals SC #198.

I came to the Security Council; I saw that this was needed; I conquered took the liberty of drafting it. Take pity on a SC newbie and don't be too critical okay? :p

It's short but to the point. What do you think? How can it be improved?

Observing that the resolution is no longer necessary and the rightful owners of the region wish to have it repealed,

Also applauding those who worked to liberate the region,

Hereby repeals SC #198.

Add a clause stating that the region is back in the natives hands and then I will support

Changed.

I would add in a clause stating that the natives wish to have the liberation removed as well.

You might want to add a clause noting that repealing the liberation resolution will now allow natives to take border control measures that will safeguard their region from future attacks by Nazi Europa or others.

Full support for this from me, given that Delegate Hatay of The Arab League supports repeal.

Added a new clause to address both of the above posts:

Stating that the rightful owners of the region wish to have the resolution repealed for, among other reasons, their border security,

EDIT: I decided to merge two clauses into one so it now says:
Observing that the resolution served its purpose and that the rightful owners of the region wish to have the resolution repealed for, among other reasons, regional security,

Short, sweet, and to the point. I like it.

Gee that was quick dude. So are you campaigning for this?

It's a routine repeal. The natives support it so I thought we'd get it through as soon as possible. I am not campaigning for it right now. I'm using it as a test to see how often delegates view the forum or proposals. If this can't get to quorum, then we do need a change in the quorum system. My belief is that campaigns shouldn't be necessary for good proposals, not all of us have the time to set up an API or use manual recruitment and many of us don't want to spend the money for stamps especially for these kinds of proposals.

I suppose we will need to do some manual campaigning, unfortunately. Thanks for the help. I'll tg you shortly.

I offered to help him with it by taking half of the list of delegates. School happened to me, though, so I'll try to send out a good chunk tonight.

Yes.

Wow! I didn't realize how hard it would be to get this to quorum. I've telegramed about 1/3 of all delegates now and it's still only a little over half way there. It seems like such a routine proposal too

You're probably going to have to re-submit this after it fails to reach quorum and then either use stamps or a script to campaign. Manual campaigning is virtually impossible now with the exceptionally high threshold for quorum, and contacting 1/3 of Delegates unfortunately won't do it. 1/3 of that 1/3 might not even have been active since you contacted them.

I would offer to campaign for this, but when I campaign I use stamps, and I've already been spending too much on them lately to campaign for Repeal "Condemn The Pacific," Commend Hell, and Liberate The Arab League.

You're probably right. I wish there was a list of active delegates. As you said, 1/3 of my telegrams were probably wasted.
