But that's not what will happen.
If it passes, it grants a sense of legitimacy to his claims. If it fails, he proceeds like nothing ever happened.

Once again, you are showing that you know how to think rationally. This whole debacle has been anything but rational, it has taken rationality and turned it on its head. If he isn't condemned, the problem won't just go away. It will feed into his ego that he was right all along and he had managed to bring about some kind of change in the WA. No matter which way this condemnation goes, we lose. So I am opting for the best decision possible; not playing his game.

So this whole argument has boiled down to one premise. "Bitley "wasted" everyone's time and got a badge, so I can do it too". Good to know that's what this game has become. And here I thought summer only came one a year in NS.

This has been suggested quite a few times since the advent of the World Space Administration. That doesn't mean it's a good idea.

If this passes, Bitely gets a badge. It doesn't matter if it's a commendation or a condemnation, it's still a badge, a symbol of recognition. Some people choose to wear condemnations as a badge of honour, a victory. A prime example of this is the condemnation issued to Omigodtheykilledkenny; Kenny likes his badge, and wishes to keep it.

Do we want nations such as Bitely receiving such a prestigious badge, whether commendation or condemnation? I know I don't.

While I do agree that certain nations would be happy to recieve a condemnation, I don't think Bitely is among them..

Ah, apologies. I hadn't read the proposal; after weeks of discussion about whether or not Bitely should receive a condemnation, I was simply shocked that someone went right ahead and proposed a resolution, ignoring all of that discussion.

If people don't like the proposal(s) and resolution(s) that a player puts forth, there's an app for that called: debating and voting.

Hounding a player to death because you want them to leave the game isn't supposed to be part of the World Assembly legislative process.

It's the World Assembly, meaning that it consists of players from across the NationStates World, with varying (role-played or genuine) political views and agendas. You are unlikely to agree with all these people and they are all unlikely to agree with you. The process generally takes care of things, with even the chance of repeals for when they really mess up a vote (especially when shenanigans occur).

I'm not an expert myself, but I remember hearing somewhere that large-scale raids should be organised via telegram, not defunct Security Council drafts.
