Raiders can't even take regions with active founders, or passwords without an SC resolution, so 90% of R/D is by native choice or apathy.

And even if Raiders took my region and kicked me out, that has no bearing on my roleplay at all. Gameplayers can't change my roleplay. I can roleplay just as well in The Pacific as I can in The United Federation of Planets.

The fact of the matter is that Gameplayers affect Gameplay, and Roleplayers affect Roleplay. No one has any more power than the other.

So you just admitted gameplayers have control over the WA? Thanks for accepting my point.

Raiders can take regions with active founders. This has been seen about 10 times across the past two years.

Yes but they do impact on you with that. You are pulled from your community. They can ultimately force you to move whereas you can't do anything to them. If the case is gameplayers only affect gameplayers then feel free to prove me wrong with this passing. However it won't.

1. There are more Roleplayers than Gameplayers in the WA. However, if anyone controls the WA, it would probably be lemmings, which are responsible for nearly 100% of passed legislation.

2. 10 times in 2 years? Wow, I might as well call out a regional emergency. Damn, those raiders are so effective, taking an average of 5 regions with active founders a year. I fear my one region out of several thousand.[/sarcasm]

3. I'm not pulled from my community. The FT Prime Community (which I am a part of) exists solely on the NS forums, as there is no real official region for it. The United Federation of Planets (where I am) has off-site forums. The League of Mechanocracies (the roleplay group I am most active in) also exists solely on forums, as I believe the most any one region has in representatives is 2. I could be raided and kicked out every day for the next two months, and it wouldn't effect the RP communities I am in.

4. They can't force me to move unless I choose to let them. I can always go to The Rejected Realms if I choose, they can't make me move from there. It is because I choose to dwell elsewhere that they can move me.

Gameplayers only affect Gameplay, they literally cannot affect Roleplay at all, and they can't affect a Nation's stats unless they join the WA.

A guide is the most impressive or notable thing they've accomplished? I will admit that guides are helpful, but basing your entire proposal on the production of one guide makes for a slim draft. Either figure out what they've accomplished throughout their entire career in their field of choice and add it to your proposal, or abandon this draft and move on to a new candidate.

Since you hold the 2nd most endorsements I would be happy to comply; I will be strengthening this draft with some more sentences, maybe a few mentions of steadiness and tenacity throughout a long NationStates career.

Of course if Zemnaya Svoboda rules opposite then I will be happy to comply with them instead.

You'll cater to the largest voter? That isn't going to go your way when everyone underneath votes differently. Need to be catering to the side which provides the most votes as a collective. :lol2:

The glorious region of Sanctum is hereby AGAINST this resolution due to a certain conflict of interests and by holy decree of the Prophet and the higher ups from within the governmental infrastructure.

Sincerely,

Lord Regent of Sanctum,

Rifty. What are you even doing?

@Vancouvia: As a gameplayer with a lot of SC background, I have an open mind. Show me the impressive things the nominee has done in the RP world, or bring a lot of RPers to this thread to voice support and I'll happily vote for, as most of the Gameplay world has done for numerous RP nominees we've never heard of before.

Hai there. Minister of Foreign Affairs, The North Pacific.

Our established policy on such proposals (at vote) is to allow the Off-Site community decide the way of the vote. I will however, poke the Delegate to your proposal.

Generally however, I'm not sure the information given in the original draft is sufficient for a successful commendation. I would note that there are several other players who also provide assistance with Factbooks.

Sincerely,

Lord Regent of Sanctum,

The glorious nation of The Free Lands of Vancouvia, Conqueror of South-Central Alaska, Tamer of the North, Kingdom of the Icy Seas, Earl of the Cold hereby ADVISES the Lord Regent that this resolution is still in the DRAFTing stage, and is therefore subject to change and amendment and that it is, if the Lord Regent take a gander out his window, not currently AT VOTE, nor IN QUEUE, nor capable of receiving APPROVALS. We would inquire of these "conflict of interests" but do not wish to speak to your superiors at this time nor in the recent future, and having perhaps the smallest collective headache, impose upon yourself that you carry up our request. We would, however, very much like to perhaps tour your infrastructure, particularly your rail-lines, as we Vancouvians have a great interest in those.

Spaghetti,

Stop with the Spaghetti crap buddy. It's spam.

Also in regards to Sanctum's vote and all that - The SC is my decision with no input from the populace. No input from the government. There is no way you can spin this to have me wanting to vote for so the against will remain regardless of how many points you add. x

As it stands, your current draft has only one noteworthy achievement, his guide. I agree that his guide was an excellent contribution, but that alone is not enough.

I understand that you are going to (hopefully) but updating this with more information but I have yet to see any hint of what this would be.

As my opinion has been solicited I will echo those others who say that it is generally desirable to include more than a single reason for commendation.

(That said, Lord Ravenclaw is entirely correct that my vote on proposals is determined not by my personal opinion of them but by the opinions expressed on our regional offsite forum).

So, your idea of "work[ing] on... this draft" is adding the word "September" to it and submitting it? This didn't garner much support back in July, why would it gain any more support now, especially since you didn't make any of the suggested improvements to it in the 57 days since you last posted in this thread?

I posted in this thread because the submitted proposal is literally the same draft as is posted in the OP at this time, and the OP has not started a new thread.

Hmmm wonder if some, er, outside-the-box-thinking mod might consider that a 4a violation. Do we have Septembers in the NS world?
