[DRAFT] Commend The Dark Star Republic

Postby Religionous » Fri Apr 24, 2015 3:49 pm

NOTING that The Dark Star Republic, along with its satellite states Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland
and Gruenberger Overseas Affiliate Territory, have passed five General Assembly resolutions between the three nations, including:
As The Dark Star Republic:
  • GAR #304, "Repeal The Landmine Convention", which repealed a flawed piece of legislation.
  • GAR #324, Repeal "Reducing Automobile Emissions", which eliminated an unreasonably strict piece of World Assembly legislation.
As Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland:
  • GAR #316, Repeal "On Genetically Modified Foods", which eliminated a resolution that had unscientific definitions and overly strict labelling requirements.
  • GAR #320, Infectious Disease Control, which was one of the highest margin-of-passage resolutions of all time.
As Gruenberger Overseas Affiliate Territory:
  • GAR #302, Individual Working Freedoms, which set parameters in allowing workers to choose the terms of their own employment.
RECOGNIZING that The Dark Star Republic has written for The Rejected Times, the premier newspaper in the world;

WISHING to acknowledge this nation's accomplishments both inside and outside of the World Assembly;

COMMENDS The Dark Star Republic.

I do not want to have to write SAWR's name out in full again. :roll:

I think I can say with the utmost certainty that Gruen would not want this.

Utmost certainty only?

QoD/DSR/Gruen left Wysteria just because of the Commend badge it got. Imagine his reaction if he got this. He will probably quit NS for life until someone repeals it.
Represented permanently at the World Assembly by Benjamin Olafsen, and on an ad-hoc basis by Alethea Norrland and rarely Gaia Pao and Gabriel Dzichpol.
OOCly retired from the GA/SC for something called 'real life'.
Author of GA#288 and SC#148.

You're presuming the author cares about what Gruen thinks. He didn't consult Separatist Peoples in his last attempt and looks like its the same case here. The impression I get is that Religionous/Kaboomlandia only cares about getting a badge, the subject matter is just a means to an end:
Commend Separatist Peoples, Condemn Auralia, Repeal "Commend The Skeleton Army", Condemn Imperium of the Wolf, Condemn Kknight, Condemn SillyString, International Aircraft Safety, Legislation of Drones, Anti-Desertification Act, Emergency Powers Act, Repeal "Clean Prostitute Act", Aquaculture Practices Act, Impaired Driving Act, International Health Fund, Tariffs and Trade Barriers in Developing Nations...

He is tenacious, I give him that. I saw nothing wrong with his attempts until he started coming into the SC and dragging innocent people and regions into the badge-hunt.

1. Condemn Imperium of the Wolf wasn't my work. I just put it up there to let people on the forums debate it because it made quorum without being posted on the NS forums.
2. The commend of SP was more for the campaign practice.

This was the TG I got from TDSR:

"Absolutely not. If you even attempt such I will CTE my nation."

I'll drop it. I will also be moving away from the SC for a while.

You're trying to hard to pass a resolution at the moment - any resolution, regardless of whether it's any good or something you actually believe in. It's possibly to enjoy the WA without needing to have passed a resolution first. Try waiting until you come across a proposal idea that actually means something to you. You'll have more fun that way than trying to force through something for the sake of it.
