That's like saying "it's completely unreasonable to punish this man for stealing! He's written some excellent books!" Please.

Belschaft's argument also contradicts what occurred with "Repeal "Commend Sedgistan"".

You know, the proposal co-authored by A Mean Old Man.

Also coincidentally, the proposal that Belschaft vote for.

Ballotonia wrote:The precedent has now been set that repeals exist not just to retract medals awarded in error, but also to take a medal away when the recipient's current behavior is no longer exemplary towards the community which granted the award. Opinions can change over time. There are many positions I held four years ago that I no longer adhere to.

I maintain that AMOM is a fantastic player with a long and interesting history in NS, and earned his commendation. Repealing it is a petty act of spite intended to make people feel less impotent.

I've taken into account what Goddess Relief Office and Elke and Elba have said about AMOM's WA resolutions, and have removed those clauses from the draft. I have also revised the draft to include recent developments, including AMOM's reinstatement to the NPO Senate and appointment as "Emperor" of the NLO.

Looking nice, Cormac. There's a lot of substantial bits there and the flow of argument is quite improved after the removal of what may have been superfluous content originally.

Will show my support for it when it goes to vote. :)

As much as I would like to come to a different conclusion, this is the correct call. I will sadly vote for this.

How many votes does the SC have to conduct just to address one incident in a sinker region? It already looks like Stu is going to be condemned for this, an undeserved badge of honor in my view. You should have just condemned the Pacific as a whole and be done with it.

AMOM and TEP may have significant history, but I still support this endeavor. His recent actions and statements are unacceptable.

Well written, and nicely done, Cormac.

Basically it's jimmies and feathers being ruffled and dramatically trying to make the backlash into as something as "physical" as possible in retaliation. Petty, and quite silly.

EDIT: Against.

It seems I forgot to pledge full support for this one. Consider this a pledge for full support, especially as it sounds like AMOM is a salty about losing it. That just makes it so much better.

Despite TWP's official neutral stance I will be encouraging TWP WA members to vote for this repeal.

Not as salty as you'd think. This wasn't a hard development to predict.

As for the MPA, that was totally legit. I honestly did think that GCR leaderships across the board could come together and collaborate in a FA and security-based alliance and anyone who was working with me at the time would confirm that my intentions were sincere. It worked between a few regions for a little while but didn't pan out, and there was a lot of competitive politicking going on in the sinkers to avoid any involvement in it. I obviously gave up on that idea.

SC historical question: I believe this makes A Mean Old Man the most voted about nation in SC history? In early 2010 one of the forgotten crowd tried to commend him, but it was defeated because two feeders and TRR stomped it (Ironically those Feeders were TP and TEP). Then after AMOM wasn't as much a member of the forgotten crowd any longer and joined up with the crew another Commend was written by JURIS (I think?) but fell victim of the 3WB in the dying days of the Security Council. When what was left of the SC got back together, Commend AMOM was finally passed and now we have a repeal.

So that is four votes (if I recall correctly) on AMOM directly. I think that puts him on top?

Nope. Sedge had both a commendation and condemnation to his name, then both were repealed. That's also four. ;)

Luna's not too far back with three.

Condemn you for what, a couple of long-winded posts in Gameplay and a terrible tarting campaign as "Emperor" of Lazarus? There may be people who warrant a condemnation from this, AMOM, but generally they should be people who matter.
