Wanting to strike out a resolution because it doesn't meet some arbitrary standard for length or number of contributions cited has nothing to do with quality. It's just prejudicial nitpicking over baseless frivolities that make no matter at all. Resolutions do not need to be long, boring essays about all of a player's accomplishments to pass muster -- particularly in a Council that has yet to repeal that ridiculous first resolution, which incidentally also didn't meet the artificial "length" "standard," but also rambled off on crap like what colors raiders used in regional WFEs.

There are arbitrary standards that have been developed over the time of the SC similar to the GA. I would not say that those standards are necessarily bad or limiting. Personally, I'm not a fan of repeals for the sake of resolution quality. Standards have changed. However, clearly people agree that this resolution is worthy of being repealed.

I would say that SC is GP biased because that's what it has developed into. I would argue also that Commend Kandarin is not very well written, but that would have no chance of being repealed because the SC is controlled by GPers and Kandy did a lot in GP among other things. The system is biased. Most SC authors are players who are primarily GPers nowadays. While that isn't ideal, the only real way is for other players to take the time to recognize other achievements as Cormac said.

One big issue I see coming up with other facets of NS trying to write resolutions for their players is that some GPers, who control the most votes and will be the most likely to stack against, often want to see big sweeping achievements rather than just ones in their individual field. It's not enough that you were a well regarded RPer involved in some of the biggest stories ever, if you didn't also write and pass multiple GA resolutions, build 5 super power regions, and save a puppy from dying, it's not good enough. It's not enough that you are really good at your thing, you have to be good at almost everything.

No, I was commended, because I, a no-one with zero experience in graphic design, revamped (or at least tried to) and optimized all the images the NationStates/MaxBarry websites had at the time: banners, the default NS flags and logos. Most worked fine, some didn't worked so good.
There was no-one in the community, as far as I know, producing the "same type of work": a pro bono publico graphical revamp of the websites. This took several months at night-time, and a considerable bump on electricity bills, since Inkscape, GIMP, and loss-less compression crunching don't run on sugar, spice and everything nice.

I was offered to participate in the second graphical revamp (maybe 2012/2013, I don't recall), but I declined because I needed to do stuff with my life.
While I don't necessarily agree with the following revamps (I liked more the old KISS NationStates), these were clearly done by professionals (someone at the admin team?)or at least someone that was actually paid for their work.

This, Kandy is a cool dude who totally deserves his commedation. Don't know too much about Goober one way or another so *shrug*. I'd have to re-read the SC resolution and the Repeal. I recall Todd's attempts (or someone's it's been awhile) to repeal it when all of the NS Wiki data was yanked.

Also I wasn't being mean, I was applying the same logic back. But I shall attempt to do so in a kinder tone from now on.

Afforess wrote the repeal, but Todd was very vocal in his support for it. I think they recovered everything up to 2008 or something, but the rest is lost.
