[RESUBMITTED] Repeal "Liberate The Mountains to the East"

Postby Redsward » Sun Dec 21, 2014 1:22 pm

The Security Council;

AWARE that the Black Riders have ceased occupying the Mountains to the East, and that the natives of the region, with the help of defenders from various organizations, are currently trying to preserve their region and keep the invaders from reclaiming it;

COMMENDING the liberation of the Mountains to the East for making these preservation efforts possible;

NOTING, however, that the said liberation of the region leaves the WA Delegate Pladitunisia unable to secure their region from outsiders, thus endangering it and its natives;

WISHING to fulfill the goal of the Security Council- to protect regions and spread peace- by granting Pladitunisia the ability to protect the Mountains to the East with a password;

COGNIZANT that regional native Carnitoria, as well as Pladitunisia themselves, have declared full support for this repeal;

CONCLUDING that the above factors have proven the liberation of the Mountains to the East far too dangerous to remain in place;

HEREBY repeals SC #164, "Liberate the Mountains to the East."

Is it even possible to have a go at refounding a region with a liberation in place, by practical means? Sadko would need to coordinate all the pilers there to leave in a small window of time and possess the influence needed to kick out the last stragglers - all without the defenders noticing. I don't see how Thomas and Cormac could miss that sort of thing :p

This is an endeavor I could support if you add more information to it.

You can refound a region with any kind of badge. That happened to NAZI EUROPE while it still had a condemnation. Same case with Macedon. Also, Kikpar refounded Ixnay like that, although Ixnay didn't have a badge.

Info's been added... but this is rather preemptive and easily subject to change.

It's going to be a while before Sadko leaves the region. I'm going to put this draft on hold until it meets the fates of either Anarchy (which was defended) or Ixnay (which was conquered).

For the sake of accuracy... Anarchy wasn't defended, it was abandoned by its occupiers and naturally went back to the natives, similar to SPACE.

Oh. Is there a better way to get info about the Black Riders than asking a Black Rider himself? :lol:

Anyway... thanks, Syl.

In draft A the phrase "believing it is necessary to nullify a useless resolution" is one of my least favorite things that people use in the SC. Well, this resolution is pointless now, so it definitely is not a waste of time taking three days just to get rid of it, even though keeping it does not affect the SC in anyway. That is a personal opinion, you don't have to listen to it.

Regarding Draft B, you will need to have a native express, in this topic, that they support this draft, otherwise nobody will support it. Often, natives prefer to write their own liberation repeals.

The drafts ARE subject to change, I will add native express when the time comes. Of course, I need to know if the natives do want their region back.

That wasn't so much criticism as much as it was a reminder. Once there are further developments it will be easier for you to write a proper proposal. For now, these are good outlines. The only line that I really don't like is:
WISHING to fulfill this goal by allowing the said WA delegate to protect The Mountains to the East, therefore bringing peace to a region that had been in immense danger for more than 50 days;

There are a few grammar errors, and it just needs to be rewritten. The wishing to fulfill this goal part would be okay if you had stated the goal directly before that line. You have a line in between them, and it messes up the flow of the draft. I'm looking forward to seeing how this draft turns out.

The sentence is still a bit chunky;
"WISHING to fulfill the aforementioned goal of the Security Council by allowing the delegate to bring peace to The Mountains to the East, by conferring to them the ability to protect the region;"
That's how I would put it. At the moment it is hard to read fluidly, and is a bit of a run on sentence. Btw, nice use of "aforementioned".

Grammar checked that, and corrected it. Said it should be "conferring on them" instead of "conferring to them."

It follows R3. Nothing besides a repeal, plus there's a clause.

There isn't an R3 violation, as there is an operative clause that only repeals the resolution in question. And this applies to both drafts, mind you.

Exactly. I report illegal SC proposals so much, my reports almost filled the entire page.

GA is a different story. There are too many ideas for resolutions that are already taken.

Looks like TBR is leaving the region. The draft will hit the floor soon. Just gotta wait for the natives to declare support.

Modified Draft B and removed Draft A. Won't submit yet; I'm still interviewing more natives.

At least with the liberation badge in place, TBR did not have the time to leave the region fast enough for defenders to notice.

Contact Pladitunisia. It's time for the badge to go.

We left fast enough, the region was empty 27 seconds before the update but glitched and didn't CTE.
