[SUBMITTED] Condemn Vandoosa

Postby Abidawe » Sun Dec 14, 2014 4:17 am

We've gotta condemn this guy, hes been involved in the raiding of hundreds of regions and does it through puppet nations as well as his main one. I'm suspecting that he also has multiple nations in the WA as he has multiple nations that are WA delegates so that also contributes to his needing to be condemned.

Hes contributed to the destruction of between 10 and 20 regions and is closely related to the Black Riders region who are condemned. He has puppet nations that are linked to all of the major raiding regions showing that his main goal is to invade and then destroy vulnerable regions.

This is the only chance we have at convincing him to stop with the invading as a condemnation is an idea that he does not wish to see through.

Lets Condemn Vandoosa!

OK, Number 1 - Was there a drafting thread for this or a similar thread somewhere within the SC forum when this was in development?

Number 2:

This proposal has one of the same problems as the current one at vote. Namely, that it is too brief in its description and too vague when it makes its arguments; it has three clauses TOTAL - that's it. Not enough for a mostly uninformed voter to base an opinion on. To be blunt, it reads like a knee-jerk reaction or a "botch-job" proposal, one that wasn't well thought-out, drafted or edited before it was submitted. And if none of that had taken place before submission, I wouldn't be too far amiss to guess that the author has shot themselves in the foot by submitting this draft far too early.

Number 3:

This proposal has fallen into the same trap as the current 'at-vote' proposal by not providing adequate justification for why the targeted nation should be Condemned. If you believe that a nation is adequately justifiable for a condemnation, then by all means. But it is the author's job to make the case within their resolution as to WHY the nominated nation is of concern to the WA. Based on what little is there, I fail to find a significant enough amount of supporting justification (beyond two or three clauses that merely state, not state and prove, their argument) to build on against Vandoosa. Again, the writer would be dealing with a mostly 'blind' voter population who would not have much of an idea about Vandoosa's activities, so without proof to support these claims, a Condemnation would flounder.

Overall, it's my opinion that this proposal is no better then the one being voted on and, like its predecessor, squanders what little effort has been put into it by not being adequately prepared, researched or edited before submission. I highly doubt this will make it through the quorum, but if so, I will be voting AGAINST.

Apologies to the original author of this, but this proposal - in the form it was submitted - simply doesn't make the cut.

You should probably add "[Submitted]" in front of this thread, instead of "[In proposal]", then put the actual proposal in this thread, so people can have better access to it. Also, as it has already been said, the proposal is way too short and is almost void of detail. The "multiple nations in the WA" thing is easily explainable. As long as a nation was a delegate during the update, it has control over the region, even if it resigns from the WA. This is one of the basics of tag raiding. Also, this last bit is semantics, but most raiders never actually have their main nation in the WA, just their puppets, and more to the point, Vandoosa is not in the WA. Thios means the second and third lines of the proposal are incorrect as they treat Vandoosa like they are in the WA, which they are not. Plus, their is no legislation that specifically says you cannot raid, so they are infringing nothing.

Hell yeah. All the wannabe "raider killers" are trying to destroy TBR, get a SC author badge, destroy TBR, try to brag about stopping raiders, destroy TBR, unknowingly encourage raiders even more, and destroy TBR!

We aren't trying to destroy TBR, the guy wanted a Condemnation    he was talking to him for a few days before he submitted it but clearly didn't do the greatest job with the description which he regrets, so he's probably gonna edit it and add more so its not botched and submit a new one once this ones gone

Given that you were once one of those authors, I suspect you better don't go down that line of 'high horse reasoning'.

And it's hilarious given that Vandoosa is known more for kawaii cutesy stuff on Iwaku than as a TBR raider.

I don't get it. If someone wanted a condemnation, you'd give it to him? Really? I thought the best way of dealing with an evil/bad guy no matter where is to deny his wants. :/

Hmph, I think I'm entitled to smirk a little at least to these kinds of proposals. My first one was actually more legitimate than the ones you see there on a daily basis :p

I would venture that Vandoosa simply has not done enough to warrant a condemnation. There are more dangerous raiders who have done a lot more and are not condemned.

Exactly. The old Condemn Vandoosa likely wouldn't be defeated if it mixed up the info about invaders, defenders, and mercenaries.

While Vandoosa and other members of the glorious nations of iwaku may be raiders, their impact is not great enough compared to others to really warrant much action.

I doubt that any proposals condemning them will get very far.

Mercenary does not necessarily equal raider. They could just as well serve them defenders, if the (whatever their currency is) was good enough, I believe.

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!

Yeah. Mercenaries are neutral.

I was the grandmaster of the now-defunct Red Armor. We were mercs ourselves. Proof: Although we partook in the recent invasion of Islam, we had defended Myacko the previous week. Myacko fell to TBR once again, though. I always hated them. Master Roski wanted to liberate as much of their regions as he could.
