I have to second this, the vast understanding of the complexities behind the Christmas issue seems to suggest a puppetry by one of those regions wishing to refound it as their own colony...

I would third this. Hiding just makes people suspicious of your intentions.

I attempted to put up a repeal a while back. And while they were busy convincing me it was a bad idea, someone else submitted one.

The following is the previous thread for Repeal Liberate Christmas

This reminds me to make an obvious Christmas themed puppet for that region :p

Something Thomas... this might take a little bit.

Yeah it is, Chester. Get a grip.

Pretty sure your fixation on me is owing to a vitamin and botanical deficiency. Could be passing a few gallstones on top of it.

Doctor Woodhouse prescribes a couple handfuls of organic power greens chased with a filthy martini—twice daily. (Uncle Val’s gin, if you can afford it.)

And next time you drive by BLITZKRIEG and NE, please stay long enough for tea and fair scones, y’hear?

It doesn't really matter. Whether this is a puppet of a veteran player or a random Sinker resident, this proposal isn't going to pass unless the puppets considered "native" to the festive puppet dump in question support it. Maybe not even then.

And he's been spamming the proposal after four removals...

...it's repealing a liberation of a raider org proxy...

...and his personality is similar to...

...the guy I stupidly tried to condemn for ONE OCCUPATION.

...the guy who made a proposal draft that Sedge locked in less than an hour.

...the current founder and delegate of Ancient Mesopotamia.

Are these enough clues? Sorry about blurting it out when Cormac tried to hide it...

Edit: I'll just be blunt and say it's Lenin.

Repeatedly resubmitting a proposal after it fails to reach quorum, yet not making any changes to it except for minor formatting, would certainly fit Len's character. After all, clogging up the SC with rubbish proposals is his MO.

My theory is false, actually. New Brussels and Lenin are both in the WA. They can't be the same person if they are both WA members, otherwise they'd be expelled for multying.

Oh yeah. Lenin has talked very bad about Chester Pearson, tried to commend Rifty for something very minor, and *shudder* liberate the Black Riders.

I know you are trying to keep Christmas' defenses up. Even if the residents of Christmas don't want the repeal.

Again? I would like to say many of the natives have expressed the desire to keep the region liberated as it allows visitors to freely move in and out of the region.

As much as the liberation makes the region a Warzone, it also allows the region to be reclaimed by the natives with a simple task force of 2.

It's sad,but re-submitting legal proposals is sadly legal, even though it annoys everyone

I got this a few days back in regards to this proposal. I feel that it is appropriate to post here.

“Hrarroom!” ( = “Greetings”),
I noticed that you very recently approved an SC proposal to ‘Repeal “Liberate Christmas”’, which -- fortunately -- failed to reach quorum. Speaking as a native of the region of Christmas, I request that if the proposal is re-submitted you do not approve it again.
This proposal does not have support from the natives of Christmas, because as there is no realistic likelihood either of us establishing a native Delegate who has enough endorsements to defend the region successfully or of us re-founding the region (and we would prefer not to set a password ourselves, because Christmas is supposed to be welcoming to visitors…) the most probable result of the Liberation getting repealed would be the region’s capture and passwording by one or another of the various ‘raiding’ groups instead.
I hope that you will respond favourably to this request.
You probably haven’t encountered this nation before, but if you’re familiar with GA matters then you probably know my WA member-nation: The Diplomatic Immunity of Bears Armed Mission.
Happy Christmas!

My work.
Sent to every delegate who approved the proposal last time around, apart maybeso from any who did so during its last few hours in the list, and then in a slightly modifed form (dropping the bit about it not having reached quorum, and changing the request from not re-approving it to withdrawing the current approval) to every delegate approving it this time who wasn't in that previous group.
I don't know how far it contributed to the fact that many of the first group haven't re-approved the proposal this time around (except in the cases of the half-dozen of them who actually replied to say they'd follow the request) -- some may have decided against doing so anyhows, of course and some simply might not have been active again since then -- but for the latter group (excluding a few whom I only contacted this morning) there's been a 5/11 success rate so far.
