[Draft] Commend Cormac A Stark

Postby McMasterdonia » Tue Sep 30, 2014 10:20 pm

A new proposal from me. Comments are welcome.

Acknowledging that Cormac A Stark is a colourful and storied nation that has experienced a wide range of ideologies, political upheavals, and changes in military alignment since the nation's founding in 2012, a series of renaissances which have given rise to some of the great classics of literature such as The NPO Retort;

Observing that Cormac A Stark has contributed to multiple communities across NationStates since the nation's founding, including, but subject to change, Exshaw, The Black Hawks, Asgard, Asgardia, The British Isles, The Pacific, The South Pacific, The North Pacific, The West Pacific, Osiris, Balder, Equilism, the Land of Kings and Emperors, The United Defenders League, The Brotherhood of Malice, The New Inquisition, Spiritus, and Europeia;

Noting that Cormac A Stark is the founding father of the bold interregional organisation known as MiniLuv, which has fostered cultural, political and diplomatic upheaval through successful dialogic techniques and which can be credited with revitalizing the cigar, soundproof wall, and tinfoil hat industries;

Impressed by the contributions of the nation to the New Pacific Order and the promotion of Francoism. Cormac A Stark served as General of the Pacific Army and, mentored by internationally respected Pacificans like Karpathos and Gasponia, oversaw a great period of activity and revitalisation that took the Army to great heights of success.

Appreciating Cormac A Stark’s service as a leading defender, serving as a Lieutenant in the United Defenders League. During this period, the nation contributed to multiple liberations and defences and enthusiastically promoted the defender ideology across nationstates. Cormac A Stark campaigned for the Chieftaincy of the band of the United Defenders League and widely contributed to the unity & activity of the UDL that followed the nations election defeat.

Valuing Cormac A Stark’s efforts as a leading raider. Cormac A Stark has contributed to the invading militaries of The Brotherhood of Malice and the Imperialist Militaries of the Independent Sovereign Realms Army, Exshaw and Asgard. The nation has participated in countless raids and brought glory to his chosen groups by claiming new territory.

Contending that Cormac A Stark’s contributions to interregional alliances extends far beyond the United Defenders League. The nation was a leading figure in Sovereign Confederation and oversaw a successful, albeit brief period, of military and diplomatic prowess.

Respecting Cormac A Stark’s contributions to the Empire, an exclusive and historical group known for its protection of the welfare of multiple regions, including but not limited to the East Pacific and Osiris. Both through this group and independently, the nation has inconsistently demonstrated their commitment to the unity & welfare of game created regions.

Admiring that the nations colourful history has resulted in a deep respect for other nations and their ideologies, especially nations whose ideology conflicts with the present and ever changing ideologies and alignment of Cormac A Stark.

Further admiring the role Cormac A Stark has played in mentoring new nations. Specifically, the nation has contributed greatly to the next generation of regional leaders. Notable mentees of Cormac A Stark include [nation=short]Wintermoot[/nation] the founder of Wintreath

hereby Commends Cormac A Stark

As I recall, when this came up a month or two ago, Cormac said thanks but no thanks.

I haven't read this yet, but I this does make for a nice change of pace from some of the other stuff that has been happening or not happening here. I'm not wholly sure if Cormac is commendable, but I -could- support this.

That looks like a Rule 4c violation to me. I believe "feeder" or "sinker" is acceptable but GCR is not.

Sure. But I think you're missing the point of this. I'll make that change soon.

Well, stuff like this usually flies well over my head, but "inconsistently demonstrated their commitment" is kind of a dead giveaway. 8) Still, keep it legal!

Loved it, especially the tinfoil hat reference. I'm sure I could persuade Dark to support this.

nation's*

A little something I noticed. All around its a pretty solid piece of literature and may garner my support. I wonder if it would be possible to Commend and then Condemn Cormac using the exact same body of text for the different proposals? That would really make this whole thing complete to me.

Full support.

Cormac is/was an influential player in NationStates and deserves recognition for this. I believe that while certain things in this document are, shall we say- unique, reasons to commend a nation, the activities of Cormac A Stark have benefited the NationStates Community overall.

There's still a question as to whether feeder or sinker are allowed. A mod proposed changing the rule but not much came of it.

Oh, OK. Nevermind then. I think you can make a drinking game out of how many times the author says "contributed" or "contribution." Another fun one is Jersey Shore and the phrases "in this house" or "in the house."

For. I'm glad you included his raid success, because I don't like anti-invader bias. And yes, I know what I wrote about Lenin. But the CoF sh*t pales in comparison to his attempts to abuse the SC to assist the Doom Squad in raids and make worthless propos.
