[DRAFT] Repeal "Commend Unibot II"

Postby Aden Protectorate » Tue Jul 22, 2014 3:14 pm

Hi everyone! I decided to write this up.

Comments would be much appreciated. Hopefully this is not too controversial, like the last resolution I attempted to draft. :unsure:

Description: The Security Council;

NOTING that Unibot II was previously Commended by Security Council Resolution #78 "Commend Unibot II";

ALSO NOTING the many accomplishments of Unibot II, and its predecessor Unibot, but as Unibot II is now nonexistent and obsolete, and replaced has by its predecessor state, Unibot III the time has come to re-address the Commendation that this council previously awarded;

BELIEVING that although the many accomplishments of Unibot its successor states, Unibot II, Unibot III, and Unibotian WA Mission (the Unibotian mission to the World Assembly), which are all to be referred "Unibot" in this resolution, are numerous and are certainly deserving of the Commendation of this Council, and that Unibot continues to amaze this Council and the international community;

HOWEVER the nation of Unibot II, the nation which this council originally awarded its commendation to is nonexistent, meaning that its successor, Unibot III, cannot fully appreciate the monolith of its achievements that this assembly previously awarded to it;

ALSO BELIEVING that since the drafting and passage of "Commend Unibot II", Unibot has accomplished numerous other stellar accomplishments;

ALSO BELIEVING that in order for the World and the Unibotian people and nation to gain recognition for the award that they have been bestowed with, this Council should facilitate the Repeal of "Commend Unibot II", and replace it with a more comprehensive and up-to-date version;

The Security Council hereby repeals SC #78 "Commend Unibot II".

Unibot II was commended and received a DEAT, so naturally his accomplishments carry over to Unibot III? No. I'd support a repeal which properly emphasizes the damage he's done to communities as of late. But I won't support a R&R of Uni's commendation.
Just some weeb.

"and replace it with a more comprehensive and up-to-date version;"

The only action a repeal proposal may claim is the repeal itself as the category enforces that nothing else can be done but a repeal.

I believe the author is stating their intention of drafting a replacement commendation for Uni, rather than expecting the current text to magically replace Uni's commendation with an accurate version. :P

Opposed. Uni's commendation is a historic one, and should be left alone. This is a repeal for the sake of a repeal, just to get an authors badge. Find a different target to get you name in the books....

I think the precedent for not respecting historical value has been set multiple times (one example would be the recent "Repeal "Commend JSA"" thing), so perhaps that isn't a very valid reason. Then again, so are the reasons for this repeal....AGAINST.

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!

Doesn't count. Didn't even make it to quorum, that one.

It got to quorum, dipped below, then went back up and then dropped like 8 approvals and updated below quorum and was removed.

Courtesy of me. I sent the un-approval telegrams to all that approved it.
