That's why they hate Douria; he's a raider/defender who loves to get into character and who never takes himself seriously.

That's why they want to condemn him.

That's why they are COMPLETELY STUPID.

Because, being a raider/defender who loves to get into character and who never takes himself seriously, he wants to be Condemned. He gets a nice shiny badge. He gets his "evil" reputation acknowledged. He has FUN.

It's so hard to get FUN into the SC.

OOC: Condemnations are dark badges on nation or region pages. If you look at The Black Riders, they have two. Commendations, which are the opposite, are a light badge (see Todd McCloud for an example). By voting to condemn The Dourian Embassy, you are saying that they have done something bad that the World Assembly should condone. If the resolution passes, they will have the condemnation badge on their nation page.

Typically, though, Condemnations aren't used just to express disapproval over one action, they're used to express disapproval over an entire career.

There are some more complex theories regarding condemnations (including the "badge of honor theory), but, yes, that is the basic idea behind condemnations.
