A lacking commendation that has the potential of being bulldozed through the Security Council with the assistance of stamps and the backing of the roleplaying community.

Hmmm wonder if some, er, outside-the-box-thinking mod might consider that a 4a violation. Do we have Septembers in the NS world?

Not sure, will file GHR.

Don't bother filing a GHR, there is nothing illegal about dates, months, etc.

My original objection to this proposal stands. That being said, I can't blame you for submitting this proposal when one considers the feedback proposals obtain within this subforum these days.

Firstly: That is not a commendation. That is a cop out of a proposal which mocks every author who has tried very hard to pass anything by this Council.

Secondly: I still don't know who proposed nominee is. What have they done? Where have they served? Their name should be known. If I don't know who they are, how on earth can you expect random Jo Nation to? I didn't understand why they should have been commended in July, and I don't understand why in September.

Finally: If by chance this gets to quorum, I may actually be motivated to campaign against it. This lowers the standard across the board and should it pass it will cheapen anything that passes either house of the World Assembly.

That said, there are people who feel that any cheapening effect has already occurred. I one day hoped to receive a commendation simply to tick off something on my NSBucket-List, but if this proposal is the standard of what I can expect, I'd rather forget it.

This is exactly why Roleplayers should not be let out of their caves. The sunlight drives them mental.

I think he's at the point where he doesn't care that he's just carving a huge divide between himself and those who would be placing the majority of votes on the proposals submitted. No matter.

It comes to no surprise that this hasn't achieved close to the amount of endorsements needed.

I'm betting you think this was humorous, but I'm just seeing flamebait. You've proven in the past that you don't have very good filters with regard to [humor/flaming/baiting], and it's cost you nations. Get a better handle on it, or we'll do it for you.

Does it really matter? We'd be lieing to say we don't all vote with bias down to the author; Let them murder their own WA careers.

The eight other things that you think aren't necessary would be helpful to the rest of us, Vancouvia. Introducing your nominee in depth would be preferable to what looks like you throwing a bean bag at a hole in the board while blindfolded and hoping it goes through one. Your draft just raises questions as to why I should go do all the research on your candidate to substantiate your proposal.

It's writing a thesis, detailing to your professors one helpful fact, and then telling them to do the rest themselves. It doesn't help your cause.

Excuse This Association, but for members to jump down the throat of this proposal on the basis that Ponderosa is "not deserving" of a commendation is completely, utterly and thoroughly Philistine, shaming the very foundations of the collective and respective factbooks of all and every nation(s) contained herein - factbooks which themselves facilitate the depth of characterisation that fuel the establishment of varied background information and standard practice of diverse nations, as a platform upon which this very debate can be held - factbooks which, many of these nations would not have been able to even consider entertaining the idea of possibly thinking about beginning to address, had it not been for Ponderosa's mainstay and unbelievably disciplined, in-depth and altruistic guides, which instigate the development of the very nations themselves who sneer at the foundations built by Poderosa and Ponderosa's continued involvement in the building and continuation of this community, which it now transpires has only been sustained so as to condemn the idea of commending Ponderosa in this largely shameful thread concerning the aforementioned resolution. Yet lo, even the nations refusing to acknowledge that Ponderosa deserves commendation do so on the grounds that this proposal does not present adequate evidence for such a commendation, without themselves presenting any evidence for their assertions regarding Ponderosa's worthiness of commendation or lack thereof.

With that said, it is This Association's view that any proposal that should be passed must be composed in a way that is befitting of the sophistication and honouring of evidence required by a passable resolution, and that this resolution displays no such sophistication and therefore must be amended before being considered passable. This is a purely bureaucratic issue, but then, every issue that arises and must be addressed is, by the very nature of an obstacle, bureaucratic. In fact, This Association submits that indeed, so deserving of commendation is Ponderosa, that this very resolution is not yet grand enough that it serves instead as an indirect, backhanded condemnation, and should be considered offensive to and by Ponderosa, and in lieu of Ponderosa's deserving contributions, thusly ought be considered offensive by and so rejected by the Security Council and NationStates as a whole, until such time as it hath become refined adequately therein and hereupon unto itself as any resolution that has been passed, will be passed, must be passed, can, could or should be passed, and therefore may be passed, as is not the case in the resolution hereby discussed in past posts - nay, its quality looks unlikely to generate the victory suitable for Ponderosa by a First Past the Post mechanism.
