First of all, I would like to explain the policy concerning foreign nationals that are members of a nations diplomatic corps.
- Ambassadors and members of the embassy administrative and technical staff will be diplomatically immune (though they can be given parking tickets). Crimes committed by aforementioned foreign nationals will result in these people being declared persona non grata and being expelled from the country. The embassy will be allowed to remain in the country unless the presence of that nation's diplomatic corps poses a security threat of any kind.
- Members of the embassy service and auxiliary staff will be treated as foreign citizens when on Baradinan soil. This means that they will be required to appear in court for crimes they commit and may be held in custody if necessary. Depending on agreements with the relevant nation, they may be extradited for judgement in their home country, though they will be banned from Barandina for the duration of the minimum prison sentence that they would have been given in Barandina.
Second, the policy concerning the embassy's chancery.
- The embassy's chancery will be the embassy building plus any surrounding terrain that is included. The chancery will be considered sovereign territory of the nation in question and subject to all the laws thereof on the condition that nothing is constructed inside the limits of the chancery that is not explicitly permitted by the City of Aninda.
- Furthermore, the Barandinan authorities will not be permitted to operate inside the limits of the chancery
Finally, the policy concerning travel on Barandinan territory by ambassadorial staff and the equipment allowed to be carried by the embassy security staff
- The ambassador and the embassy administrative staff are free to travel all over the country. The embassy technical and service staff are requested to remain in the capital district and inform the ambassador of any travel outside the capital district. The embassy security staff must remain in the capital district, unless they are accompanying the ambassador and/or the embassy administrative staff.
- On Barandinan territory, no member of the embassy staff may carry or use Grade 3 heavy weapons or higher (i.e. no fully automatic weapons, rocket launchers, flame throwers, etc...) nor may any embassy vehicles be equipped with such weapons. No member of the embassy staff may be in possession of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons.
- If required, Barandinan police can provide extra security for the ambassador and his staff, both on and off the chancery.
N.B. If you think it necessary to equip your security staff with weapons of Grade 3 (or even Grade 2; i.e. assault rifles, shotguns, other longarms), it may be that you should reconsider whether you think it safe for your ambassador to come to Barandina.
