The Fae Omega

Postby Fae Omega » Sun Dec 05, 2010 2:01 am

Who They Are

The Fae Omega are a group of thirteen citizens of Eireann Fae, based on the thirteen signs of the Zodiac:

Aries Taurus Gemini Cancer Leo Virgo Libra Scorpius Orphiuchus Sagittarius Capricorn Aquarius Pisces

They are represented by two Faeries of each element (these Faeries are the same in every timeline, ranging from 3,000+yo in Eireann Fae-era storylines to 6,000+yo [MT] to 7,500+yo [PMT] to 9,000+yo [FT]) and three Humans (sustained by the magick of the Faeries, they are 100+yo to 3100+y [MT] to 4,600+yo [PMT] to 6,100 [FT], they always appear to be in their teens).

This group adapts to the changing times, and can be found from the primitive time of Eireann Fae to the age of Faster Than Light travel. They fight for justice and equality wherever they go. The Faeries are near gods, with unparalleled power in their respective elements. The Humans are fountains of knowledge, remember everything that happened from the time they discovered the island that would later be called Eireann Fae. They are known amongst their peoples as myth or legend, but sometimes a lucky Fae Human or Faerie may come across the ancient heroes of the Fe'rœſ Harþöſ (Faerie Spirit of Life).

The three Humans have traditional weaponry, modified forms of which they use throughout the ages. Virʒiniſ begins with a whip, Aþafera a hammer, and Sabik a pair of shortblades. In timelines where they have projectile or energy weapons, the 'whip' will have the longest range and the most accuracy, but the least damage, the 'hammer' will have the shortest range, be the slowest to attack with, and does the most damage, and the 'shortblades' will have a medium range, deal decent damage, and Sabik will be wielding a pair of them.

In all but ancient times, the Faeries will be pitch black, save for their eyes, which still sparkle brilliantly as ever.

The Characters

Aþafera is the boy representing Leo, and appears to be 14. His weapon is the hammer. He has red hair, and keeps it shoulder length. His skin is dark, the tone of one raised near the sea, and his eyes shine a fiery orange colour. He is valiant and honest, and conforms tightly to his own moral code. His mind is always on his work, of bringing freedom and equality to everyone they can.

Virʒiniſ is a girl representing Virgo, appearing to be 12 years old, and is armed with the whip. She has flowing red hair that reaches her thighs, milky white skin, and brilliant green eyes. She is impeccably polite, and pure-hearted, and has a deep love for nature. She drinks only the finest wines, and smokes only the best herbs. Being fond of music, she is very proficient in stringed instruments (and futuristic ones like them).

Sabik represents Ophiuchus, and he may wield two weapons, but he is the gentlest of the three. He appears to be 13. He has no hair, and very dark skin, causing his bright blue eyes to sparkle like diamonds in the darkness. He is a healer, having an unnatural knowledge in the biological workings of living beings. He works with the Earth Faeries a lot in repairing wounds. He also acts as a sort of counsellor, having quite a bit of empathy for living beings.

Akübenſ is a Fire Faerie, and represents Aries. As such, she is of a tactical mind, and often takes charge in planning operations. Not one to give up easily, Acübenſ will always have at least two backup plans, and running is always a final option. She does not accept payment for her deeds, feeling that the victory is payment enough. (The rest of the team likes supporting their operations as time and technology moves forward, though, so they accept money.)

Alnaþ is an Earth Faerie, representing Taurus. She is a friend of Akübenſ, and often helps with planning operations with her. Alnaþ has a knack for seeing future consequences of actions, being very familiar with the conventional rules of behaviour for several species. Being an Earth Faerie, of course, means that she is responsible for keeping the others alive. At her age, though, this comes fairly easily.

Alzir is an Air Faerie, representative of Gemini. For all the planning ability of Akübenſ and the depth of knowledge of Alnaþ, Alzir is more capable than either at living in the moment. If something goes wrong with well-laid plans, this Faeries is usually the one with a spur of the moment plan of action. She is also very quick-witted, and is not afraid to chide her comrades when they get trapped in a situation she has to help them out of.

ʂeraþan is a Water Faerie, and she represents Cancer. Some would mistake her for a Spirit Faerie if it were not for her ocean blue eyes. ʂeraþan has an unnatural ability to interpret body language to great accuracy. When one of her comrades is in dire straits, she will stop at nothing to protect them.

Saþira is a Fire Faerie, representing Sagittarius. She is the most charitable of the lot, highly protective of not only the Fae Omega, but of every being she sees as being unfairly treated. She gives what she can to those that have nothing, and is rather fond of bringing warmth to the cold.

Þeneb is an Earth Faerie, and represents Capricorn. While Alnaþ plans things and takes care of those that have fallen in battle, this Earth Faerie is often on the front lines, defending and healing combatants in the heat of battle. In her off time, Þeneb is a fan of trying new forms of Mead. She is also very adept at crafting tisanes as well. Her Human companions often keep a few small samples of their favourite tisane herbs, because that's all Þeneb needs to infinitely divide the cells to the required portions to make just the right herbal mixture.

Bünþa is an Air Faerie, representative of Aquarius. She is often jokingly referred to as ʂaʒübig'Veʃaklöbü, literally "The Flying Encyclopaedia", for her vast knowledge on a great many subjects. Her favourite subject is, naturally, Astronomy. Like Greek scholars of old, she often lectures others on the facts of life, and is not afraid of raising her voice to make sure her opinion is heard.

Veþik is a Water Faerie, representing Pisces. Also a lover of music, she instructed Viʒiniſ in several of her stringed instruments, and still composes many pieces for the girl to perform. She does not respond well to criticism of her music, believing every piece she writes is a masterpiece (which is often true). She is very passionate about her music, and this passion is reflected will in the Human girl's reflection of it.

Mülü is a Spirit Faerie, and represents Libra. She is often the Ambassador for the group, having Aþafera translate for her. She is very well disciplined, and applies her Spirit Faerie talents in seeing that she can work out a compromise in every dealing that benefits all sides as much as possible. She uses her knowledge of culture and diplomacy combined with her generally quick thinking to make sure tense situations don't explode, or that friendly situations stay that way.

Veſper is a Spirit Faerie, and represents Scorpio. Of the whole group, she is the one most concerned with societal affairs. Virʒiniſ was her protegé, and it shows. She knows the societal rules of engagement for many species, and is quite adept at reading the hearts of others to get a sense of whether or not she is pleasing to them. She is usually very quiet, but it is obvious to everyone in the group that she loves them all very deeply, and she does her best to keep them out of trouble by instructing them in a culture's rules of behaviour before they embark on a mission (but some follow instructions better than others...).

Timelines

The Fae Omega can exist in any timeline. In PT, the organization is 100 years old, and the ages of the Faeries range from 3,124 to 4,872. The Humans are 112, 113, and 114 years of age now, but appear unchanged thanks to the workings of the Earth Faeries. Between the Faeries' naturally unlimited lifetime and their ability to keep the Humans frozen in their own physical development, all 13 members remain the same throughout time. All that changes are their age, abilities, and gear. At the bottom of this post is a chart of the Humans' weapons.

Past Technology Base Faerie Age: 3000

Most of the Faeries are almost black in colour already, indicating their great age. The Humans still look like a 12 year old girl (Virʒiniſ), a 13 year old boy (Sabik) and a 14 year old boy (Aþafera). In this timeline, Virʒiniſ wields a whip, Aþafera carries a large warhammer, and Sabik uses a pair of swords. The group travels the world in a 20-foot Viking-style longboat. Between the Water and Air Faeries, they generally have no trouble on the high seas. They occasionally do journey across land, the Humans usually on foot.

Modern Technology Base Faerie Age: 6000

Everybody is 3,000 years older, but more or less looking the same, physically. The major difference is that the Faeries are solid black now, and the only way to discern their element is by their irises, which still shine with the same brilliance they did 6,000+ years ago. The Humans are fond of leather garb (just more neatly cut than what they wear in PT). Virʒiniſ now carries a Sniper Rifle, Aþafera a Combat Shotgun, and Sabik a pair of Colt SAA revolvers.

At this point in the timeline, the Fae Omega have their own private jet, acquiring their first one in the 1980s. They also begin learning to build upon modern technology with runestones and other magick. The girl's rifle, for instance, has a scope equipped that auto-adjusts focus and corrects the crosshair for elevation, wind, and other conditions, thanks to a runestone embedded in the device.

Post-Modern Technology Base Faerie Age: 7500

After regular upgrades to Fae Omega's jet, the team are able to maintain Low Earth Orbit in a sleek, small vessel specially designed for three Humans and ten Faeries (though the ship can hold another couple of Humans as necessary). Virʒiniſ's weapon in this era is a CheyTac Intervention rifle, with an advanced sensor and ballistics package. Her deadly range is now anything within a mile, rather easily. Aþafera uses an XM-25 rifle, a weapon that can use many different types of ammunition (detailed below). Sabik now uses a pair of Cyclone pistols - submachine guns that can empty their 50-round clips in either 5 seconds or 2, depending on the firing mode Sabik chooses to use. All three Humans are working on suits to help them survive in space...

Future Technology Base Faerie Age: 9000

The suits complete, all three Humans now wear a rather large pendant enscribed with runes, embedded with a spell relevant to the spiritual properties of each Human. When they speak an encantation, they become bathed in brilliant white light as the magick contained within the pendants generates a crystalline armour, enveloping the Humans in suits that protect them from the harshest environments, from the bottom of oceans to the vacuum of space. Virʒinil's FT weapon is a Railgun - lethal at 7,500m, using 1kg tungsten slugs 10cm in length (carried 20 at a time in a bandolier). Aþafera now uses a Plasma Rifle, powered by a nuclear battery and with a range of only 250m, it fires a blast of plasma or maintains a stream of it, dealing massive damage either way. Sabik is now armed with a pair of Plasma Pistols, also powered by a nuclear battery, they only fire quick blasts of plasma, and are only lethal to 150m.

They also now have an interstellar vessel. Designed and crafted by the Earth Faeries, it has a crystalline armour similar to the Humans' suits, but its design is very organic in appearance. The entire craft is a semi-translucent obsidian crystal, all its functions being directly driven by the efforts of the ten Faeries. The Earth Faeries do not have to concentrate to keep the craft together, of course, but they do have to work to keep it maintained; repairing damage when it is incurred, and making changes as necessity and desire warrants it. They also grow the nuts, berries, fruits, and vegetables that make up the food supply on the vessel, using a small hydroponic chamber designed for the purpose and stocked with the necessary seeds. The Air Faeries provide propulsion for the vessel, and provide its interior atmosphere when they are flying through space or immersed in water. They also, through manipulation of crystals designed for the purpose, act as communication center, able to send and recieve audio signals in several formats. The Water Faeries provide water for the Humans (and guests) to drink, generate the water for the cryogenic chambers, and generally handle the propulsion of the craft when travelling underwater (though the Air Faeries are capable of driving the ship underwater, if they need to). Fire Faeries provide the primary defense for the ship, being capable of detonating warheads prematurely, dissolving photon-based attacks, and firing their own laser attacks if necessary. Spirit Faeries act as the sensors, able to distinguish life forms from great distances. Earth Faeries can, of course, sense earth (including asteroids and other rocky bodies) and general life, and Air Faeries can identify stars and nebulae and other gaseous phenomena.

The airlock leading to the hatches (top and bottom) is located just behind the cockpit, and can hold up to seven people at once. The 'Sleep Room', or cryogenics chamber, is behind the airlock, in the centre of the ship. It has ten Human-sized tanks, twenty tanks the size of a medium dog, and two rather large tanks. When needed, the Water Faerie will fill an occupied tank with pure water, and flash-freeze the liquid and its occupant in a matter of seconds. When it comes time to revive the being, the Water Faerie heats the water to a level appropriate to the species, and an Earth Faerie will revive the creature, stimulating its vital organs and repairing any damage caused by the process. The left wing has the hydroponic growing chamber near its tip, and a kitchen and common area split the rest of the wing, the kitchen taking a third of the space. Fire, Earth, and Water Faeries often help the Humans prepare food in the kitchen. In the right wing, the restroom (with standard attachments for Humans to use in 0G, and others available on request) is near the tip of the wing, and the rest of the area is divided into ten small bedrooms. It's not uncommon to find the Humans sleeping in the common room, though, or even the cockpit.

Consistant Gear (Between MT and FT)

The three humans all carry tablet computers (starting with MT), tunneling X to a mainframe on the jet, using encrypted satellite and cellular communications lines. The tablets can communicate with other devices in numerous ways, including Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, FireWire, Radio, and the aforementioned cellular and satellite links. In PMT, this display and communications device can be a screen the size of a pair of sunglasses. The girl is the most proficient hacker, with Sabik faring well in the feat as well.

In FT, this display is in the form of a dimly illuminated Heads Up Display in the Armour, the brightness, size, and composition of which varies according to the situation. For example, a translation of an alien language may appear in small white text near the bottom of the display; Vital Statistics may appear in a small box in the upper left corner, showing name, species, languages used, and possibly title and other relevant information. Another common HUD use is showing your own suit's Stability Information, showing damage and status information, including your own vital statistics, including heart rate, blood purity level, oxygen level, and information on any untreated wounds.

A certain sound wave is required to affect the crystalline suits, or the medallion. Both are otherwise impervious to damage (extenuating circumstances notwithstanding). Virʒiniſ uses a monomolecular whip as a melee weapon, with or without the suit, as well as a Railgun. She can only fire the Railgun without her suit five times before the damage is so great she requires healing. With the suit, she can go on forever, and take advantage of the suit's HUD to improve her aim dramatically, giving the weapon a 50% bonus to range, damage, and accuracy. In addition, her whip is similarly enhanced. The boys get the same bonuses while in their suits, but they only have to rely on their nuclear batteries holding out rather than carry tungsten slugs. In exchange, their range is much shorter than the girl's Railgun.

In MT, they have a jet plane, somewhat resembling a large solar and nuclear-powered B-2 Bomber, with room for three Humans and ten Faeries. The craft initially tops out at Mach 2, but before they upgrade in PMT get it up to Mach 4.2. They will never have weapons on their ships, in any timeline. In PMT, the jet looks like a larger, sleeker version of NASA's Shuttle, with a small private room for each of the pilots, and five slightly larger rooms for passengers (of Human size). In later PMT campaigns, they can traverse interplanetary space, but are confined to the Solar system.
