When I found out that NationStates was going to declare independence from Jolt, I thought it would be a good time to get myself represented for real before inviting all my friends from Funen here. Maybe it would be a good time to introduce myself here as The Gigantic Huge People's State of Super-Chechnya, cruel authoritarian and anti-capitalist nation in which power is the pure aim. I got the idea from the novel 1984 by George Orwell.

Maybe we could we sticky this for others to introduce themselves, and I wonder what my friend Charlotte Ryberg has to say for the new forum that might signal the end of Jolt and NS partnership...

No, I haven't missed the opportunity to test out this new forum but I think I would miss the visitor messages feature if NationStates fully broke off from Jolt. Nevertheless it is a good indication that the original is now getting long overdue improvements.

First joined NS some time in '08 and have been active on Jolt's International Incidents, I'm actually scared that jolt will be removed and I will lose all my post-counts and threads and then once jolt is totally gone this forum will crash and we will have no forum.
But enough doom and gloom, I'm sure everything will be fine and we will all get along happy-happy...

Indeed, well, um, as I said I'm a RPer, and although I am mainly on II I am not very good at war so I mainly concentrate on terrorist attacks and that sort of thing. As long as it's character RP I'm good, if its general "war post losses" I kinda start to get lost xD an that is all I can think of to say.

My nation's name is The Humanistic Democracy of Buffett and Colbert. My nation has a secular government and promotes all civil and political freedoms. It is a very liberal state and very free thinking. It has a Democratic Socialist government and hopes to provide equal services to everyone, however we are a fan of capitalism, just not capitalism left alone. There is regulation within our economy which we think is keeping a check on things so no one gets abused economically.

I'm new to the forum and just checking out how it works. I like this format much better and it looks much more inviting so I think I'll be using it more often.

Hello, MacCornmac here. This nation is an Inoffensive Centrist Democracy, I try to keep this nation as close to my viewpoint of perfection as possible, but it did deviate a few times. In my nation you will find that there are no drug laws, children cursing like no tomorrow, people choosing to be nude or no.

Brutland and Norden here. This nation is a cross between Scandinavia and Italy. Used to frequent NSII, NSWA and NSG, but now only has meager time to spend on NS.

We are Kryozerkia, a sprawling cesspool of rampant liberalism, with several colonies, including one that likes to pretend its independent, but it's really not. This nation is not in the WA; however, one of our colonial holdings does like the WA, so it represents the commonwealth there.

Greetings; my nation is Lutentia, which swings from Corrupt Dictatorship to Father Knows Best frequently as I maintain civil rights and make itty-bitty adjustments so that our economy stays strong. I had originally planned to be an overbearing, psychotic dictator, but apparently am terrible at that. You know, one person comes to you and asks very nicely for something, you go, "Oh, that sounds reasonable," and then you turn around and suddenly everyone has civil rights. Curious, that.

Incidentally, it seems our recently-declared Protectorate of Fioria is ruled by a small group of power-hungry capitalists, but I'm really only in it for the trade and combined military power. If they want to be viciously oppressed, it's not really my business.

The glorious fledgling state of Pussy Cat Ninjas would like to declare its existence to the World Assembly!!!

Our aim will be to climb the world rankings and one day soon take control of this assembly, once we work out how we can actually do that!?!? We have our top researchers on the case but again they are still somewhat confused about what the World Assembly is!!!! However they are a clever bunch so should be finalising the details of a takeover bid soon.

I am hardly a stranger to NationStates, as the above statement shows, but I decided to jump back in - the last time I played in, I was dragged in a massive war and got so damn sick from the bickering that resulted towards the end that I really left NS good (that whole second Hatarian war, for you oldies out there.) Naivetry occupies a mountainous peninsula between two larger landmasses in the region of Equilism. Our government mostly relies on our citizens to take care of themselves, habitually dismissing or postponing decisions on complaints brought to it. Shortly after the founding of Naivetry, political upheaval in Equilism caused our politicians to shift their focus away from domestic affairs to the larger crisis in our region. Once this turmoil subsided, we found that Naivetry was positioned to take leadership in regional politics. The great majority of Naivetry's political and diplomatic resources have been dedicated to representing Equilism ever since.

On behalf of The Dominion, I would like to offer for your perusal the following information on our nation.

The Dominion of Dread Lady Nathicana, more commonly known among those familiar as simply The Dominion, has been active in international politics for some time now. We have had the good fortune of becoming members of the Triumvirate of Yut, one of the oldest known alliances in our corner of the multiverse, and of having been part of the triad of nations who developed the Non-Democratic Alliance, of which we are understandably proud. Another organization we launched is the Trade Network Alliance - a large group of nations who have come together with the intention of expanding trade and establishing connections.

Our nation has grown by leaps and bounds, lead through our most recent history by Nathicana D'Aquisto, Dread Lady and First Imperatrice. Our capitol is Devras, located on the northeastern coast. We have additional holdings on Mars, Titan, The Ring, Sslaa, Io, Machiavelli Station, and various other places through business arrangement or alliance ties.

While starting out as what one might term a fairly 'modern' nation, we have been able to increase our technologial base by leaps and bounds, due in no small part to gracious assistance from our allies, and additionally, our own research which continues apace, granting us advanced knowledge and capabilities, including FTL travel.

We take pride in our culture, which shares much in common with what might be called a sister state of sorts, Italy, though we have never housed the seat of Catholicism, or any other major religion. While our commerce sector flourishes, some of our most renowned exports are our wines, oils, and other various foodstuffs. Our defense and IT industries have historically been very strong, though we tend to keep our military advances to ourselves, or our close allies and are not known for distributing them on the general market.
