Government

Robithia's government is a Socialist Totalitarianism, meaning the Chairman has complete and absolute control. Realizing capitalism only leaves a overwhelming gap between the rich and the poor, the government has set up a system where everyone works for the greater good of the country rather than their own personal wants. Economy

A large portion of the population, over 6 million work in Agriculture and Industy. Farms are made into co-operatives, keeping whatever surplus they make in order to motivate the people to work hard. Currently 4 million citizens work in the agriculture industry, supplying the countires food demands.The average worker works around 10 hours a day, recieving Saturday and Sunday off if they wish. Those who work on these days recieve a small benefit for striving for the good of the country. Over the year due to Robithia's increase in rice production, it now exports over 2.5 million tonnes of basmati rice, making it one of the nations greatest source of income. With over 55% of the workers growing rice, another 20% focus on growing bannas. These are harvested and sold to other countries with a decent portion given back to the people. The remaining 15% currently raise livestock, supplying most of the countries meat needs. However, a small portion of these farmers also raise silk worms due to the tropical climate. Around 3 million people work in creating consumer goods in factories. These factories have private apartments for the workers if they choose to reside there with only a small portion of their paycheck going to the costs of maintaing the building. Working conditions are quite well compared to other countries even giving free healthcare to all workers under the state. The country is almost entirely run by using geothermal energy, making oil nearly worthless in Robithia. In the Broken Islands just off the coast of the mainland, coffee plantations cover most of the island allowing a total of 200,000 metric tons to be produced yearly.

History

In 1842, the Island of Bernoda was discovered by Sir Fredrick Johnson. A small island not far from the coast of New Guine, it was habited by a smal comunity of locals. He began gaining the locals trust with small precious gems, but sadly this trust was betrayed when they were brutally raped, tortured and fianlly massacred by Fredrick and his men. After establishing a port and using the survivng locals as slaves, most of the locals were forced to leave their lives of fishing to instead be forced to work on farms. By the end of 1865 over half a million natives died of starvation or exaustion, which as history has shown in the past, the oppressed cry for a rebellion. After 3 years of bloody fighting and the death of over 2,000,000 lives, Sir Fredrick Johnson was caught hiding in the jungle and brutally mutilated. His body was sent back to his home country with a soul survivor, a young man by the name of Peter Robertson. Peter would later write a book of the atrocities performed by Sir Fredrick Johnson, fighting for the Bernoda people to be left at peace until his death in 1901.

A New Beginning
In 1919 Russian explorers settled the island renaming it Robithia after the explorers asked the name of the land. A local translator tried to tell tem Bernoda but it was mistranslated to Robithia. The explorers were disgusted with the class system and offered to pass on their communist ideals. Instead of forcing the locals to work on farms, the new communist government under the Soviet Union allowed the natives to work based on their abilities, allowing the island to rapidly florish. By 1939 major cities had sprouted up with a thriving 6 million citizens and over 3 major cities. However in 1941 Japanese soldiers invaded the island, executing President Karl Venderson after taking control of the nations capital. The nation once again experienced another genocide, this time murdering over 80% of the locals as well as 40% of Russian settlers. World War 2 had arrived at Robithia's doorstep with a vengeance, becoming one of the darkest periods in Robithian history.

Rebuilding
After the end of the World War 2 the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1947. Robithia was allowed to become an independent country if they agreed to become a democratic nation. Skeptical at first, the survivng government decided it was best for country to become independent. The Democratic Republic of Robithia was established in 1950, holding their very first elections. President Savaco Yokodan was elected under the politcal party known as the Panther Party named after the nations animal. For over 40 years the nation slipped into corruption, rapidly increasing the economy by leaving an overwhelming gap between the rich and the poor. Cities were westernized where the rural area was left to suffer. It was predicted that over 60% of the country was illiterate and over 55% were starving. In 1988 a young self educated man by the name of Boris Kalashov rose from the slums, establishing the Robithian Communist Party, or RCP for short.

The Great Rebellion
By May 3rd 1988, the RCP rebels had taken over the city of Nexington, establishing a headquarters in the heart of the city. Rebels used guirella tactics, disguised as every day average citizens by day but violent soldiers by night. Fighting took place mostly in the outskirts, giving the rebels an overwhelming advantage over the DROR's (Democratic Rebulic of Robithia) army. Nearly 9,000,000 soliders were killed where only 2,000,000 rebels were killed. On May 30th, 1990 the RCP rebels took control of the nations capital known as Bladimin, overthrowing the corrupt government and puring the nation of these invidiuals. Boris Kalashov himself executed the former President, starting a new era in Robithia's history.

The Peoples Republic of Robithia
On April 8th, The Peoples Rebluic of Robithia was established, electing Boris Kalashov as the Chairman. The capital was renamed Kalashovile in his honor as well as building a giant statue in the middle of the square so the people will always remember his heroic deeds. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, a total of 300 billion US dollars was sent over as well as AK-47's, tanks, a small navy and several attack helicopters as a gift to the new communist nation. Quickly setting up cooperatives, Boris had the people grow rice to help the starving nation. By the end of 1993 there was not a single starving citizen in all of Robithia. Education was on the rise as well as free healthcare.

Military
The Robithian military is made up in three branches, the navy, airforce, and the army. Under the command of General Nicolai Slevendmen, it is the backbone of the nation. At the age of 16, all Robithian citizens are required to spend at least 2 years of training in one of these branches. In the case of a lack of soldiers in the armed forces, citizens between the ages of 17-65 are required to report for active duty. If matters become despertate, anyone from the age of 8-80 are required to report for active duty. Those with a disability are dismissed but required to work desk duty. Robithians firmly believe in defending their mother land, gladly accepting these conditions.

The aveage Robithan soldier is equipped with the modern Robithian AK-47's and frag grenades. Trained in gureilla tactics, they are taught to wound enemy soldiers by creating booby traps and laying land mines in order to slow down advancing forces and decrease moral. Broken into divisions, special soldiers are trained for sniping as well as anti-tank and anti-aircraft tactics. Soldiers undergo brutal training, taught to withstand interogation.It is expected for the average Robithian soldier to keep their wits even when suffering from fatigue and hunger. Small tank divisions are on reserve to support the ground forces when needed.

Navy
The Robithian Navy is the back bone of Robithia. Being an island nation, a large and strong navy is needed to ensure the saftey of their waters. Recently mass production of warships as well as the training of elite sailors has begun. Naval officers are required to spend 4 years studying at the naval accademy where sailors undergo a full year of brutal training. Sailors must understand basic mechanics, be extremely fit, be able to move through their ship blind folded, spend hours in icy cold water as well a number of strange methods required to doiminate before being accepted in the navy.

Airforce
The Robothian Airforce consists Su-37MR planes,Tupolev Tu-160's and C-17 Globemaster III 's . Pilots are trained to fight to the death and destroy the target at all costs, even if this means running the plane into the target. Pilots are required to spend countless hours watching and reading Soviet training techniques which are put into practice with mock bombing runs and dog fights. Along with these planes are Mil Mi-28 attack helicopters as well as Mil Mi-26 transport helicopters. Pilots are given small machine guns in case of being forced to fight in the even of crashing.

Geography

The People Republic of Robithia is located east New Guinea. Its cordinates are -5 degrees Latitude, 165 degrees Longitude.
It is approximately 320,560 square kilometers. Robithia is home to beatiful rainforests, covering around 13% of the land. To the southeast of the island are large mountains, allowing one who stands on top to see the whole island as well as the Four Broken Islands a few miles of the main coast. These mountains only cover 1% of the land, the vast majority of the land is covered with lush farmlands and rice paddies which supply the growing nations food demands.

Coral Reefs
Robithia is surrounded by coral reefs, acting as a natural defense. However, in the Northwestern section of the mainland is a small section where the coral reefs have been removed to allow the same passage of ships. Robithia's port is stationed here, routinely checking each ship to make sure no illegal cargo are being brought into the great nation.

Robithian Intelligence Agency



The Robithian Intelligence Agency, RIA for short was established in 1962 under the recent democratic governement due to suspected threats jeopardizing the nations saftey. However, when the country became under the control of the RCP, the agency remained. The RIA insures the nations saftey from foreign and domestic enemies through any method deemed necessary. The agency collects information on countries, corporations or even individuals who come under intrest or believed to be in need of investigation. If believed to be a threat to the saftey or Robithia, the RIA will remove that threat. The agency also gives support to resistance leaders opposing capitalists imperialism. This includes financial aid, training as well as weapons.

Training

Taken from orphanages at the age of 5, both male and female children are relocated to a remote facility of a secluded island. After taken a series of tasks to determine there skills and intrests they are put into groups with others with the same skills and intrests. There they are taught the skills of obtaining information, hand to hand combat, remaining unseen, weaponry, etc. The facility is nicknamed, "The Farm" due to the first training ground to be under a remote farm on the island. When training is complete at the age of 18, they are considered "Acitivated". After a number of years of service agents are allowed to retire and live a normal life if they wish, swearing an oath never to reveal what the agency is. They are given a new identity and are listed as "Deactiviated" on the agencies roster.

Structure
The RIA is broken down into a series of division which deal with a specific threat. These include counterterrorism, counterintelligence, intelligence analysis, information operations, weapons intelligence, transnational issues, etc. While in training, each agent is given a series of tests at around the age of 8 or 9. These tests determine an agents position in the RIA based on their skills and abilities. Due to security matters, the amount of agents "Activated" cannot be revealed.

Third Arm
At the age of 12, each agent is given a pistol with a signature design which runs down the hilt of the pistol. The inside of their hand is tattooed to match the design on the pistol so it appears they are connected and are one. This is their third arm, spending countless hours practicing with it. The agents are considered to be able to make impossible shots from impossible distances and circumstances. Although trained with countless other weapons, the pistol is their lifeline saving them from countless scenarios.
