Andulia is a proudly democratic country. All citizens vote to elect members of the Central Directorate and various Province and City Directorates. The Directorates, in turn, elect executive officials such as city commissars, province commissars and the Premier, who do the work of managing the country and economy.

The United Kingdom of Victoria is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy. All citizens over the age of 18 vote for their local Member of Parliament to send to the House of Commons, the lower hosue of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. There are 450 of them in total - 1 for every 100,000 people in the UK - although the new government under Theresa Hammond plans to increase the Commons' membership to 600. Citizens also vote for their local councillors. There are 450 councils each with 25 members. In some parts of the country people can vote for directly elected mayors and these are going to be rolled out to other parts of the country in time for local elections next year. In Albion citizens can vote for MAPs (Members of the Albion Parliament). The Albion Parliament is a devolved legislature, which handles certain issues devolved from Westminster such as health and education. There are 179 MAPs with some being elected to single-member constituencies using FPTP and others being elected on regional lists using PR. Referendums are also used to decide important matters. The electoral system currently used is FPTP, although a referendum is planned for next Spring over whether or not that should be changed for elections to the House of Commons.

"Never again",I said.

The results of a Democracy in the old Astergea led to its existence to cease. But not anymore.

With the remaining few and small numbers of Astergeans,a new sovereign state was founded. A Principality founded on the shores of an island far away from the previous homeworld.
Things had to change. Our values, our morals, our way of life.

"No more!" I said to the idealistic way of Democracy.
"No more!" I said to untrustworthy promise-broken men.
"No more!" I said to extinction.

"Forward on to the future!
Forward on for New Astergea!
Forward on with Mankind!
" I said to the people.

"Yes,your majesty!" resounded the people.

Yes, the President, Senate, and House of Representatives are elected by popular vote. However, the elections are oftentimes rife with corruption.

Despite Dushan has currently a few Democratic elements, it would hardly qualify as western styled Democracy.

In fact it has more in common with the historical Republic of Venice.

Keshiland literally wrote:I would give it a no. A country that lies about how free, or how great, or how humanitarian it is can never be developed. Example, NK lies and says they are democratic and are not, the US lies and says we are free yet we incarcerate millions for a medical plant. See we are basically a larger more populated North Korea.

Yes, Kenmoria is a parliamentary democracy.
Hello! I’m a GAer and NS Roleplayer from the United Kingdom.
My pronouns are he/him.
Any posts that I make as GenSec will be clearly marked as such and OOC. Conversely, my IC ambassador in the General Assembly is Ambassador Fortier. I’m always happy to discuss ideas about proposals, particularly if grammar or wording are in issue. I am also Executive Deputy Minister for the WA Ministry of TNP.
Kenmoria is an illiberal yet democratic nation pursuing the goals of communism in a semi-effective fashion. It has a very broad diplomatic presence despite being economically developing, mainly to seek help in recovering from the effect of a recent civil war. Read the factbook here for more information; perhaps, I will eventually finish it.
