Those that break the law do not get punished though: they get, depending on how much overweight they are, six months up to seven and a half years the time to bring their weight down to an acceptable level. Otherwise they are fined or face imprisonment and forced labour.

Same is the case with underweight and such, but the inverse is the case: you have a certain timeframe within to bring your weight up to an acceptable range, or otherwise you'll face punishments as well.

Those that accept or opt to get their weight down within the marge, get a temporary subsidy on everything that is healthy. They get some discounts on sport school memberships, have to pay less taxes for each kilo lost, and such.

That's because a bigger body carries bigger weapons and thicker armor, and this makes it very hard for those with smaller bodies to even up the advantage. Only those who want to be physically sneaky - such as scouts, spies, and sneak thieves - choose small bodies.

It's all great as long as the person makes sure to keep everything in balance. For example, if another layer of heavy armor is installed, adding a ton to the body weight, an upgraded engine and improved support parts need to be added at the same time. Otherwise, the body's carrying capacity must be downgraded by a ton to make up for the addition.

We have some bots that weigh up to 5,000,000 lbs (2,267,961.85 kg) when carrying a full load of cargo and fuel in space shuttle mode, and that stand 1000 feet (333m) tall in robot mode, and they are perfectly functional at these sizes, albeit a bit slow. City Nayba are generally more fit in appearance due to cities being heated and insulated at a toasty 15C. (Nayba are biochemically adapted to cold temperatures.)

How they manage to do that whilst eating CEC pizzas and/or fried chicken 4 out of 7 days of the week is puzzling, yet impressive. Some Derngeans practise yoga or muscular exercises on the bus or metro, in the office and/or in other public spaces en masse at times.
