Following reports of the sinking of a Vanquarian fishing trawler by alleged pirates near Esgonian waters and increased Vanquarian military presence in the Odesa Gulf, the Esgonian Naval forces immediately steps up security measures, with vessels from the Esgonian Navy and the Maritime Defense Force already increasing patrols around the area. The spokesman for the Esgonian Government has stated in a recent announcement that. "This piracy incident has shocked the Government. Rest assured, the Esgonian Navy and the Maritime Defense Force will ensure that the people of Esgonia, and it's allies will help out to wipe out piracy and it's elements, to keep the waters safe."

Meanwhile, a naval task force composing of 4 Destroyers, 2 Cruisers, and 6 Frigates is sent to the Odesa Gulf and monitor the activities of the Vanquarian fleet as they have been alerted of a Vanquarian Ballistic Missile test in the Gulf, which had previously been approved by the Fronslandish Government.

Urran Joins War on Piracy

The Navy announced a change in plans today. Supporting our allies in the war on piracy, URS Akita and URS Lanzhou will not be heading to port. Instead the two ships will be heading to the Odesa Gulf where they will help secure the waters from both Vanquerian naval activity, as well as taking part in anti-piracy operations. URS Lanzhou in particular is well suited to defeating the swarms of small boats often used by pirates.

Urranese P-1's flying from Wakayama Naval Station, Esgonia are also taking part in the operation. Normal patrols are increasing in duration, distance, and in the area covered.

Fukuhama Naval Armory Tests New Naval Strike Fighter

Earlier today, a Fukuhama Naval Armory spokeswoman told eager reporters of a successful test of the flight capabilities of a brand new two-seat strike fighter they hope to sell to the Navy. The aircraft, labeled the Su-33KUB by FNA, is a derivative of the single-seat air superiority fighter of similar name also produced by Fukuhama, itself derived from a Novokrainian design. The similarities between the two are obvious, but the Fukuhama design team says the changes are deeper. The upgrades include avionics and weapons systems, as well as a new flight computer that can link with new AI systems, a feature, they said, is relatively new to the aircraft design world and was only recently added to this design. The Navy, commenting on the week of successful test flight, says they are considering purchasing a number of them to replace old F-111Bs and Blackburn Buccaneers. Fukuhama, however, has more ambitious plans. The spokeswoman said in her address that the primary market of the Su-33KUB is the export market, where they hope to sell aircraft to world navies such as Esgonia and the Western Pacific Territories. So far, the odds look good as test pilots give both thumbs up after their flights, indicating a perfect run.

JDF Participates in Exercises Abroad

Social media was flooded last week by images of friends and family members as they sent "vacation pics". These are, in fact, images of Jyväskylä Self Defense Force members during their exercises in Esgonia and the Union of Autocratic Empires while working with the FAP Army and Air Force in response to increasing tensions with Fronsland and Eredion. The militamen are in high spirits as they participate in some of the most rigorous exercises in the SDF's history, excited at the opportunity to visit other countries despite the circumstances. When asked how they felt about being called up to participate in these exercises, most responded with "I see it as a vacation, rather than work!" or some similar statement. The JDF is expected to perform a more active role in FAP foreign affairs as it begins to grow in power, possibly even becoming an official branch of the FAP Armed Forces.

Moscecorian Military Spendings reaches its annual peak, and it has gotten hold of various objects, including:
The Car-11 of Wolf Armaments, which will replace the Ak-74 previously used by the Moscecorian Army. The Carbine is not the only weapon from Wolf Armaments, as 12,000 machine guns (The LS Mare) will also see use within construction of the three new ships within the Moscecorian navy. Linge has announced that the Dagger classes had been started over a year ago, and is now nearing the 50% complete mark despite having its progress and publicity in most cases recently announced.

Moscecor performs military exercises near the port of Myurdesk, information claims it as 'Amphibious Action Training'

The old cruiser, the MNS Mildor, has been equipped with RHIB's and used for several shifts of live fire exercises on the beach. The Moscecorian Army used their newly acquired weaponry. A large coastal transport vehicle was used in each shift, blowing up boulders for targets. The soldiers fired at set up targets with live ammunition, and two non-critical injuries were recorded in the day long span.

"It pays to have a military that can accomplish the challenges of modern warfare, so we payed for a better future to companies such as Wolf Armaments, Uros Armaments, and the Free Asian Port's shiperies. Army Equips New Tank

The Army says it plans on adopting the Type 10 Main Battle Tank within the next few years. The tank is to replace outdated Type 74 tanks in service with reserve and forward-deployed armored divisions. It is based on the cancelled Type 90, which was to enter service during the 1990s. However, it befell various development issues, and the Leopard 2 tank was ordered as an interim replacement. The Type 90 never entered service as the Leopard 2 was found to be better liked among crews. The Type 10 improves greatly over the old design using new technology. However, there has been criticism from the units that are now receiving the Type 10. The Type 74 is very well liked, and many are sad to see it go.

The Esgonian scientific community was in huge surprise today when an miners had excavated and discovered a new, unknown mineral at Petroia Mines this morning. Miners say that they had recently bored another tunnel and started working there when they found a "glowing blue object" sticking out of the wall. To one miner claimed "It was extremely radiant, as it was shining blue like crystal clear water. It was something out of the ordinary." They had also claimed that they found 'at least 5 of them sticking out, one of them from the ceiling.'

The mineral samples were then given to AEGIS Technologies, where they are currently storing them in their facilities for experimentation. A spokesman had said in a recent conference. 'This is a really great find for us and the entire scientific community. As this mineral may have some unique characteristics. Heck, this might be an alternative energy source if found to be of such properties. But all we can do for now is to wait." They have also claimed that the estimated time that they could uncover the properties would be 'From 8 years to a decade and a half."

The miners who have excavated the said minerals were given Flk 35,000.00 each for their findings and the mines were asked to preserve the tunnels so that field scientists could investigate into the area and see if there are more of these minerals inside.

After a announcement yesterday by officials of the IDF saying that they will be initiating 'Operation Blade' to remove insurgent presence near the border between Iodinae and Agrabah, less than 4 hours ago IDF vehicles and infantry were seen entering Agrabah from the Iodinaei side of the border. As a followup to yesterdays announcements, it has been declassified that around 15,000 soldiers are part taking in the operation, along with 40 Merkava tanks and various other vehicles. Currently, the military officials say that the operation has been mostly successful, with multiple insurgent stockpiles of weapons, vehicles and supplies being seized without much struggle at all, save a few firefights occurring in the southern-most region of the border.

Currently there has been no real opposition to 'Operation Blade', and though not fully complete, has been progressing at a unexpectedly fast rate and the operation is expected to be fully completed within two to three weeks.

The Helsa Space Agency, HSA, has been founded today by the leaders of all Helsa states. The HSA is to include all existing state's non-military space programs, facilities and assets.

The HSA Board has announced it has already initiated a joint-Helsa program to 'advance the super state's interests in the last Frontier' which will include a boost of extra satellites under the HSA brand to existing Helsa sub-state satellites, a project to construct a major HSA centre of operations in Helsa City in Auraxis, the construction of a HSA mega space station to aid already existing sub-state space stations and numerous research missions.

But all of the above does not come cheap though with costs even exceeding what the Iron Empire and all its provinces, even with aid of a neighbouring nation, is able to afford. Luckily all 6 of the Federation's states will directly contribute to the HSA program with Vanquarian officials expecting close cooperation with IWA allies as well.

Machines Replace Man

In Vanquarian Israel countless factory workers have lost their jobs as the Vanquarian government funds a program to increase mass production dramatically through the installation of modern manufacturing technology.

Thankfully for the workers they have been relocated to other available positions, mostly civil service. Vanquarian officials have stated that in order for Helsa to maximise it's potential as a self-sufficient nation modernisation is vital for proper growth.

New Maglev Finally Operational!

The much awaited maglev line connecting the Urranese cities of Sakura City, Setegya, and Itabashi is now complete and has already taken its first loads of passengers earlier today. The world has waited for the completion of the project since the test line for the Chuo Shinkansen set a world land speed record of 375 miles per hour. However, we are told that operating speed is more on the order of 311mph. The train can cover the 180 mile journey in just over 67 minutes. The train uses magnets to float above the track, as well as to propel it forwards at astounding speeds and with low friction. The project has drawn ire from right wing groups saying that the cost was far too high when other highspeed trains already run the same journey. The 9 trillion Yang project was indeed a massive undertaking, and while it's true that it did cost quite a bit, it is hoped that this will pave the way for more energy saving maglevs in the future, as well as attracting business in the foreign market.

Eredion closes land border to North Arkana

The Ministry of Interior announces that the small land border between the Holy Empire of Eredion and North Arkana is to be closed and protected by a wall on the Eredian side.
The Minister emphasizes that this is not a hostile act against the government or country of North Arkana or it´s people, but rather a mean to ensure the continued peace of the border region and security from smuggling and other crimes for local residents on both sides as a result of the lack of cooperation between the two countries in combatting border trafficing crime.
This wall is purely for border protection and will be well in the Eredian territory and not inflict directly or with weapons indirectly on the population or territory of North Arkana.
No other borders are planned to be closed in any way, shape or form and the vital trade and even military sea trafficing will not be afflicted.
If the North Arkanan government has any concerns about this project, the Imperial Government would be delighted for political talks.

The recent announcement by the government of Eredion has been decried as wholly unnecessary, needlessly provocative, and paranoid. The wall, projected to be a truly massive structure according to Eredian sources, is being built under claims combatting illegal trafficking across the small land border between North Arkana and Eredion. Moscecorian Military reaches maximum military budget camp

After threats of invasion from the Commonwealth of the South Pacific and its allies, the Moscecorian Defense Forces have ordered additions to their Air Force and Naval Forces. They have ordered 30 F-16's from the Free Asian Ports, which came with fifteen F-14's for free in the purchase. 18 Oliver Hazard Perry frigates have been purchased aswell, which will lead to one of the Project Cruisers from the 1950's to be decommissioned and scrapped while the other Project cruiser will be kept and used as a training vessel. The aging MNS Mildor will remain in active service. The three Dagger Class Destroyers are also finished, and awaiting its training tasks and commissioning date. All ships will be equipped with SH-3's.

Two true aircraft carriers have been ordered, marking a further advancement in the growth of the Navy. They are the MNS Najaden, Kitty Hawk class, and the MNS Sedona, Forrestal class. They have been ordered in packages which include aircraft for the ships.

Human Rights Courts mourn, rest of world waits for Authrach He to die - It's happening dear readers: After 95 years, the day our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents wished for has came: The inexcusable, brutal, and merciless leader of Vanquaria now sits on his deathbed, not dying from any accident, or some heroic person managing to kill the man, but from old age. We here at Das Salzlake think that the phrase "Ding Dong, the witch is dead, the witch is dead!" is amazingly appropriate for this occasion. Anyways, jokes aside, we would like not to celebrate his long awaited death, but rather, look back at the achievements of his life, and await for when Authrach He dies, and Prince Esic ascends to the mantle.

A good place to begin would be the formation of the most repulsive and disgusting alliance formed in human history, a alliance of despotic, militaristic nations just like Vanquaria. Next would be Vanquaria's New Azenyanistan territory and the story behind Vanquaria's gaining of it. Then, the surprise invasion of Pacifica resulting in the nation losing Revasa island, which Vanquaria then chose to permanently place a massive garrison on. A bunch of other stuff happened and Vanquaria because a police state somewhere before that, but that's the jist of it. Now, to when the glorious son of a gun dies. To sum it up, he's about to die according to Vanquarian sources and others believe he's already dead, and the reaction is just being delayed by bad Vanquarian internet. Now, on Prince Esic. All around he doesn't sound too bad, at least, in relation to Vlad the Super Cool Dude. After all, he runs a rather popular and successful charity called Salvation Ausozera. But there are plenty of national agencies out there who'd probably just kill him after Vlad dies to see what happens to Vanquaria, we're sure of that at least. In one sentence: The old king is dead, long live the new King!

Today our Holy Emperor Lukas vi Eredion interrupted his state visit to the Union of Autocratic Empires to address the nation on the notice that the Vanquarian Autarch lies on his death bed. He gave a speech via a holographic display at the Empire Square to the troops, press members and the most loyal citizens with his cabinet assembled in full behind their Emperor, besides his advisor who accompanied him on the journey to the Union Gig Zorander.
We will now show the highlights of the speech.

"My people, sons and daughters of Eredion, the mighty Holy Empire we built with the great resolve and strength our people are now known for. I reach out to you, into every corner of the Empire, today from the Union of Autocratic Empires, my duties as head of state and government have forced me to not be able to be with my people in the moments of grief that the world feels now. The Autarch of Vanquaria lies on his death bed, for 95 years of his life, he installed the same resolve and strength into his people with which we built our own nation and it is true that many other empathyless people around the globe begrudge the Iron Empire for it´s achievements and monumental successes, built to last with the hands of the people, the same people now begrudge the Holy Empire on it´s projects and monuments, I say to those, lay your anger aside and mourn the imminent death of a prominent statesman who has done so much for his country.
In these days I lose a friend and a mentor and even though I am blessed with long life, I could already learn from the Vanquarian Autarch when I showed our great nation the way into a golden future and I assure you that my resolve to fulfill my duties and tasks as your Emperor has never been stronger, I will build new monuments to showcase our glory, protect them with the Iron Hand of the Imperial Forces and let Eredion be the spearhead of progress in this world so that once I lay on my death bed I can look back at the same feats and achievements like the Vanquarian Autarch and his family surely can now. Today the Eredion people mourn with the Vanquarian people."

The speech ended in 10 minutes of constant cheering of the soldiers, the Eredian people in public broadcast places made sure to show their enthusiasm as well, the Emperor may even have heard it.

12th century king; Conrad 'the Great' of Montferrat declared saint by Pacifican Donaristion Church - According to the title, and various other avenues of information, we have been alerted to the fact that the Pacifican Donaristion Church, a sect of Christianity with 20% of Pacifica's population following it, has declared some guy who died a few centuries ago a saint. Unfortunately, we were forced to do some research as a result. To clear things up, it's important to remember that in the 12th century a majority of Pacifica was owned by holy orders. Anyways, basically put, Conrad was appointed as the King of all of the orders in 1187, united these orders into the Kingdom of Montferrat, and annexed all of Pacifica. Then he did good things, obviously.

These good things are pretty blurry but we know that when he wasn't pouring money into building up his castles he made a point of keeping the commoners and nobles alike happy, and became famous for working to help the poor. He was killed in 1194 by a assassin, loved by both commoner and nobleman alike. Alot of this information wasn't known until a excavation near Hadesas uncovered alot of information about notable figures in Pacifica during this time, and Conrad was the very first person mentioned in the press release due to the slew of info about him. A bit later, the head of the Donaristion church and several cardinals met, before declaring later that day that Conrad had been named a saint and a maytar by the head of the Donaristion church.

The lesson to be learned is that if you're a chill person, a church will name you a saint and maytar 800 years later.

News of Autarch's nearing demise reaches Esgonia.

At 0500 local time, news regarding the Vanquarian Autarch's near death has reached the nation, which was mostly received positive by the local populace, stating that his death was "about time." Outbursts of celebration were reported across the country as police attempt to quell down any form of civil disobedience that may happen.

One local resident from Ceira had this to say "I'm glad that that tyrant's time is almost at an end. Imagine how many people suffered and died horribly under his hand. Hopefully he deserves the suffering he has earned himself in the afterlife." however, there are some people who had admired some of his acts, despite the multiple atrocities the feared leader had committed throughout the years he had ruled the large Northern nation; including Professor Ulrich Starkwood, a college processor of the Arts and Sciences from St. Salsalina University and a person of Vanquarian-Helghast origins who had migrated over to Esgonia when he was 20 years old. Here's what he had to say:

"Although he had committed hundreds, even thousands of crimes throughout his reign, we should not ignore about what he did to his nation, how he brought his nation towards the future, improving the infrastructure of his cities, the strengthening of his already powerful military, and being a key player of the Helsan Federation. who made the entire continent a force to be reckoned with. But unfortunately, the amount of atrocities outweighs his good contributions, especially as to how he oppressed the people in his own nation. My only wish for him, is that he dies peacefully, then hope that his soul, that if he even has a soul, burns in Hell forever."

There have also been inquiries about who will take the Autarch's place at the Vanquarian throne, and latest reports have stated that Prince Esic is most likely going to be the successor, but it has not yet been confirmed. The Esgonian Government has refused to comment over the matter.

Autarch He on his deathbed.

Today it came to the world's attention the fact that Autarch He, leader of Vanquaria and head of the Iron Will Alliance, is bed stricken and nearing the end of his life. Aged 95, Autarch Vladimir He has been a key figure in the international stage of Ausozera, but the leader's relationships with the Union have always been less than ideal due to him protecting a high profile war criminal accused of having men under his command injure and kill unarmed Unionist medics - who, should we add, were allied with the Vanquarian Armed Forces when the events took place.

That said, it is undeniable the Autarch has also been responsible for more constructive endeavours, such as the modernisation of Vanquaria, the creation of the Helsha Federation, and being father to Prince Scott Esic He, founder of Salvation Ausozera, who is theorized to become the next Vanquarian Autarch. While what this dead entails isn't known, it is theorized this will bring a change to Vanquarian policy.

At the time of writing, King Brutus Argentus Silva has been the only Unionist leader that offered his thoughts.

"As a member of the Unionist Federal Council, my sympathies go to Prince Scott and his family. As the leader of two of the many men and women his men killed, I have to say I'm glad he's burning in Hell with those sister shaggers he calls his ancestors."
