Politically and culturely speaking it is similar, but not the same, as America. Our monuments have a unique Tayosian look, but you can see some influence from Ancient Rome. We also have a bit of a Japanese sense of honor. Basically, we don't have one single influence, but many influences.

A bit of China and Singapore, with heavy Thai (Theravada) Buddhism. Add Cherry Blossoms and a populist democracy.

Originally, somewhat Latin American in a generic way coupled with Yoruba. National disasters mostly man-made and centuries of misery modified it to be rather melancholic and pessimistic. Vaguely parallel to something more Eastern European, even if created under completely different circumstances and cultures.

Post-Bismarck era German Empire with a more theocratic, religious right lean and other ethnic minorities in the country, somewhat related to the main culture.
Lars Ulrich: Hello, Dave. Look at your band. Now back to mine. Now back at your band. Now back to mine. Sadly, your band isn't mine, but if they stopped playing pure thrash metal and switched to a tough guy version of Motley Crue, they could sell like they're Metallica! Look down, back up, where are you? You're on the high road, taking it higher like a super collider. That album was great. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's a hard drive with all the private information of the users we banned from Napster. Look again, the hard drive is now Babymetal. Anything is possible when your band reeks of pop. I'm wearing a thong.

American (Specifically California) culture.
This nation is based off the setting of the videogame Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. So make as much GTA references as possible.
Beavers are actually extinct in San Andreas. We built our dams on top of theirs and dumped all our raw sewage into the rivers. It's why Los Santos was voted 2013 most polluted city (suck it Beijing!)

Swedish and Japanese, albeit greatly leaning on the Swedish side (I'd say around 75% Swedish, 25% Modern Japanese)

Honestly, I have no idea. At the start, I wanted this to be like a 17th- to 18th century French-ish nation with an economic framework nearer to that of modern Scandinavia. When I started tweaking around with the history, I was heavily influenced by my own culture as well as Polish and German customs and history so that explains the garbage that is now my factbook. Then I got bored of the Central European narrative so I abandoned my factbook (about to start a new one, though, which I hope wouldn't be as Eurocentric as before) and now it's just basically a conglomerate of everything that has taken my fancy.
THE MOST GLORIOUS EMPIRE OF SATTERTHWAITE

Factbook (under construction)
A hereditary nigh-absolute left-leaning monarchy with an easily dissolvable parliamentary system. Sometimes "socialist", most of the time just a welfare state. Atheistic, but tolerant of religions (sometimes). Insanely high taxes. Emperor above all. Vive l'Empereur !

Basically a benevolent dictatorship, but don't tell anyone that.

*this nation does not reflect my opinions IRL and also does not follow NS stats.

Santierra is similar to Spanish (Castilian), as Santierra is mostly populated by the descendants of the Spanish colonizers and immigrants who came to the Santierran islands. There is also a bit of American, Polynesian, Chinese, and Indonesian culture blended into Santierra from immigration.

The mixture of 70% Southeast Asian culture - primarily Thai culture - and 30% Northeast Asian culture - primarily Chinese culture - resemble the characteristics of the imperial culture.
