Popularity of Anime in Your Nation

Postby Independent Carolina » Tue May 26, 2015 7:28 pm

Simply put, how popular is anime in your country?

In Carolina, anime has become extremely popular with the population. It is commonly played on TV stations in dedicated timeslots, and rivals many western cartoons for ratings. Because of this, many animation companies in the Federation have taken to basing their shows art-styles to be similar to anime.

Popularity of Anime in Your Nation

Postby Parhe » Tue May 26, 2015 7:37 pm

Anime is very popular but that is because animations in general are very popular. Anime as a separate genre isn't really acknowledged, it just being considered cartoon ls.

Very popular.

Northern Kingdom dubbing companies tend to make their own dubs (usually English, though Esperanto and Swedish dubs are not uncommon). The reasoning behind this is that they can localize the anime easier and, for the English dubs, they "can make better dubs than those North Americans." These dubs are almost always, if not always, faithful to the original (although not always word per word, if necessary). As such, sub vs dub wars do not occur; in fact, such wars are discouraged.

In light of this, abridged series are also popular, particularly those of LittleKuriboh and TeamFourStar.

Because anime is popular, cosplaying is also popular. If you go to a certain area in Dansarkyss, a troupe of cosplayers will walk down the sidewalks and pedestrian lanes every Friday. Also, in Bergensten, there is a restaurant where the staff are cosplayers.

I use Monster Girl Encyclopedia (although set on modern time) as a medium for roleplay (my nation is not limited to it, though). I am an MT nation (set in today), with experimental and a few functioning PMT technology. My nation is when Sweden smokes much weed, takes much LSD, takes up more arms than normal, and dates a monster girl (mamono).

Anime is by definition a catch all term as "Anime" or "Japanimation" covers a broad spectrum of genres. In the Althing it is generally quite popular although some series such as the "Evangelion" series are outlawed.

Anime is played along other animation on many channels. The most popular genres are military, shoujo, slice of life, and harem. The most popular anime in the USSH is "Girls und Panzer"

Very popular amoungst dissaffected youth and man children with wierd dreams about their dicks being 20 foot tenticles, with series such as Princess Robot Bubblegum earning the highest ratings of any animated TV show to date, beating legacy shows such as Detective Moorehead or Republian Space Rangers while also pulling millions in merchandising deals.

Very popular. However, they are not recognized as a separate genre from other cartoons, and are not immediately associated with foreign, Japanese-cultured nations.

Dubs are common and popular; the language spoken in Jeongmi is directly translatable with Japanese. Jeongmi also makes its own anime.

It has a modest popularity. The chilly relations between Narnia and Japan are one of the factors stopping it from being mainstream.

Why would people set up anime studios in your nation in public view if they knew that it was illegal and highly unpopular?

Real sorry about that.

Fairly popular with youth, but older folk, usually veterans discourage Japanese cultural influence as Imperial Japan annexed part of northern Glengo in 1942-3.
What if some ancient Filipina got really, really religious about the ocean?
What if there was a sizeable island between Taiwan and Luzon?
What if both of these generated bizarre and frankly random butterfly effects?

All of these and more are revealed on Glengo Island... ~+~~+~~+~

Although all forms of animation and cartoons are disliked here, anime is especially hated. People who watch anime are ridiculed and made fun of. Most anime is watched through online streaming services.

They are relatively popular in the sense that the animation is a highly respected art in the Empire.

Either way, Anime are not known as a genre in itself.

Anime here is popular, and has even contributed to Tolmakian media. There's a growing trend of so-called "Tonime" created by Japanese-Tolmakians in the republic.

Aside from that, Anime TV shows are regularly shown in certain channels, dubbed in both English and Tolmakian.

There are also anime events, including cosplay contests. The Meddli Square and megamall have hosted several cosplaying events.

Anime is the second most popular form of fictional entertainment, just behind virtual reality. It has been around for a century or two now, and it doesn't look like it'll be disappearing any time soon.

Autraelis love to imitate the stereotypes of "The Predecessors" (Autistics pre-Autrael), hence anime, MLP, and anthropomorphic animals are quite popular. The three fandoms listed are strongly disliked in Az Biez, however, as Az Biez is trying to adopt its own identity and rid the region of all Autraeli things.

I guess that means it's not exactly popular here.
