One day I'll get around to exploring the Jeobseoni Dialect, which should be a mixture of Korean and Japanese. The Korean elements were originally used as an underground language but eventually filtered into normal speech as local slang until the ethnic cleansing policies ended, after which they merged into the local Yashimese as some kind of weird "combined language", with its own odd quirks. Singlish with Japanese and Korean? Something like that.

I am, and I didn't mean the whole peninsula. One of the smaller peninsulas off of that peninsula. I based the region loosely off of the Greater Tokyo region, which has 37 million people. Sukyuran will probably be a weird mesh of Japanese and Chinese, not sure entirely.

I think this'll work pretty well - Hasumin (now called Nomyo, but this won't be shown until next map) also has a language that's a mix of Chinese and Japanese.

Mandarin usually dispenses with the "色", it's pretty redundant and sounds awkward, like "Green Colour Harbour Bay", emphasis on the redundant word "colour" being there. Or if Blue Whales were known as Blue Coloured Whales. Lugangwan would suffice for Green Harbour Bay, if that's what you were going for, but it would be an exceedingly shitty nation name.

Did you just type "green harbor" into Google Translate for Chinese? Because this doesn't work as a nation name, haha. I can help you make a new name if you'd like, though.

Can you explain in more detail regarding Chinese and Korean though? Does it have a Han Chinese majority with a sizeable Korean minority? What aspects of pre-socialist (though I think you mean pre-revolutionary) China?

Your nation is also actually fairly large, both in terms of population, economy size, and military (nearly half a million active troops and nearly a million in reserve, and in a wealthy nation too, wow!)

GDP (PPP) takes into account the price of goods and services in that nation in comparison to the United States. SK's GDP per capita (PPP) is ~$38,000. I have a feeling that you don't want to be a rich, heavily urbanized, developed nation? Your stats certainly indicate it, though, apart from perhaps the very large military.

Yeah, those numbers dont exactly suggest a 'not very strong military' =P

Pre-socialist but post-revolution (Republican; Guomindang era) China had no royalty already, and the military was already fairly to very weak, depending on the time period. The modern Imperial China's military was also weak due to corruption and poor leadership, though they were the most well-armed in Asia at some point before the revolution.

The military is really quite big for such a smaller nation aiming to be less militarily powerful; numbers less than a hundred thousand would be good. Singapore has around 70 thousand and that's with conscription, and it's already one of the most (if not the most) powerful in the region.

LOL as an ethnic Korean and Korean citizen it hasn't escaped me these characters are the "han" from "Hanguk" and the "jo" from "Joseon."

I don't mind you keeping the "jo" but the character for "Han" is generally just used to signify Korea, which might get pretty awkward and weird sometimes. I can provide a separate character if you'd like. I also wouldn't have minded you simply being "Lvgang" instead of "Lvse Gangwan" lol.

Again, however, I'd like to ask - what's your main?

Those who are culturally Korean though should be wealthier, however - same with those that are Chinese. If your nation speaks Mandarin, do you mind being closer to Gaoxiong and Penghu? If you want Koreans though, it may me better to be closer to Jeongmi (me), but you can probably justify Korean presence through large-scale immigration perhaps during a time of historical famine or political instability in my nation.

Also, haha, I don't mind if you want to be larger, but it seems like you want to be a weaker nation? If you want a greater explanation of how Koreans and Mandarin-speaking people already in this region are, feel free to ask!
