Economy Structure: The economy of Dargovezna is a free market capitalist one for the most part, with a healthy private sector making a great deal of revenue in a multitude of industries. There is very little regulation and many industries are subsidized by the State.
The nation is mostly export driven though the gap is not so large between the two. The gap between the wealthy and the poor is very large with almost no middle class in between.

Geographic Profile

Location: The Continent of Agonartha, Agonarthis Terra. It shares borders with Allbeama and Fragnatha. It has maritime borders with Esus and Tarvos, Fragnatha, and the Agonarthan Confederacy of Desolate City States. It is a peninsula surrounded by the sea of Allbeam, the Sea of Dargovezna, and the North Sea.

Total Land Area: Approximately 8,500Square Miles.

Climate: The overall climate of Agonarthis Terra is generally Earth like though it is slightly warmer overall comparatively speaking. Dargovezna is comparable to the region of Scandinavia on Earth, climate wise, but the year runs generally warmer than in the Scandinavian nations of Earth.
Dargovezna has a temperate climate, despite its northern latitude, with four distinct seasons and mild temperatures throughout the year. The country can be divided into three types of climate; the southernmost part has an oceanic climate, the central part has a humid continental climate and the northernmost part has a sub-arctic climate.

On average, most of Dargovezna receives between 500 and 800 mm (20 and 31 in) of precipitation each year.

Elevation extremes: Mount Dargoth is the highest point at 1,800 -m above sea level. The lowest point is Lake Valstoknia at -3.01 m below sea level.

Natural resources: Uranium deposits, Ore, Lumber, Oil, and Fisheries.

Terrain: Dargovezna is a barren rocky and mountainous landscape that is marked with lakes and rivers. It is home to severely deforested pine timbers, and is also notable for its sub-arctic locales.

History

Secession and the Founding of the Nation

Prior to the Modern Era, Dargovezna was a collection of Allbeaman provinces incorporated into the Empire, and later the Republic. It was after the rise of an insane Cult in these backwater provinces that events began to move toward the nation’s independence.

In 1945 ACY, War broke at as extremist alliances of provincial governments seceded from the Allbeaman Republic. The Great Secession War raged on for the next 5 years, before armistice was called and peace talks were convened in the neutral nation of Zackrastan. At the conclusion of the talks, all three warring factions signed the Treaty of Zackrastovad. Territory controlled by the Seperatist Alliance, led by Victor Fragnathius, was officially recognized as The Imperial Dominion of Fragnatha.

Territory controlled by the Swords of Dargolex, a faction led by Vinzengar Dargo the Holy Prophet of Dargolex, was officially recognized as the Grand Republic Imperium of Dargovezna. The Republic of Allbeama ceded the lands to the extremist factions for sake of ending the conflict, and stipulated that the two factions must refrain from hostile actions against the Republic.


The Early Years of Dargovezna (1950 ACY-1970 ACY)

The Years following the Treaty of Zackrastovad saw a series of purges and persecutions of religious and political dissidents, and an ethnic cleansing campaign, designed to purify the Dargoveznar people. The space program chugged along in the midst of all this, an the nation built up its military at the expense of most other sectors.

There were conflicts between Fragnatha and Dargovezna in this period as well. Conflicts that still lie dormant today. For the most part, the two nations launced sporadic attacks on each other, but with no real sizable war resulting from the strained relations.

The Era of Peaceful Relations (1970 ACY-1990 ACY)

The Conflicts between the two extremist states soon became troublesome enough for international action to take place. Peace talks were arranged on neutral ground, and the leaders of the two rivals signed a Treaty of Peace. This ushered in a time of peace and prosperity for both nations that ended April 9th, 1990 ACY. The event that ended this peace was a terrorist act perpetrated by an unknown source on both nations that resulted in both nations assuming that it was an attack by the other.

1990 ACY-Present

The next few years after the attacks saw a return to the strife between Fragnatha and Dargovezna that still continues into the current time.

Great leaps were made in the fields of science and technology and Dargovezna has been reaping the rewards. The advent of FTL travel has stirred must excitement in the ranks of the Dargolegion, eager to find new worlds to convert, and new heretics to slay.

The current Emperor has shown no intention of oppressing the people any less. There are rumors of a rebellion in the works, but so far no acts of rebellion, treason or sedition have come to light. The future of Dargovezna indeed looks as bleak as the past and present.
