3.5-ish. Most forms of overt institutional sexism have been struck down by now, but society and culture still remains slow in promoting healthy attitudes to women. Note that this goes for many different types of minorities here, including that of race, sexuality, class and others.

4ish Women and Men were always equals ever since the first communities in Svalbard. Any abuse is against both genders and both are equal in everything. WOmen even hold doors for men 505 of the time.

4.8

Females in Otulia have historically been dominant, and, while powerful, tried their best to be equal. Nonetheless, the country continues to favor matriarchy, and lots of posts in government and finance are controlled by females due to this historical tendency.

How are women on average treated in your country?

Postby Parhe » Sat May 02, 2015 3:06 pm

Um, this is rather confusing. There are basically no genders in the Holy Parhic Empire with the exception being recent migrants from other countries. However, if you mean sex, there is no difference between how males and females are treated in the nation. Also, things like domestic violence, sexual harassment, and sexism are largely unheard of and not considered a "women's problem." Furthermore cases of domestic violence and sexual harassment, and in connection sexism, tend to be in which males are the victims rather than females (my nation is based on large part on my life and my experiences).

Woolzistan sits between levels 3 and 4, depending on the regions of the country.

Vallermoore wrote:3 If the country is a democracy, women do have the vote, and they have at least a chance of getting decent jobs, but sexual harassment is rife. Domestic violence is illegal, but not that many offenders are convicted.

4 Women are legally equal with males, and domestic violence, sexual crimes and sexism are strongly cracked down on, but there are hidden pockets of sexism around.

Legally women are equal with men and have the right to vote, to work and to an education as well as the opportunity to control their own lives. However, how this plays out in reality isn't always clear cut. There is quite a difference between attitudes in urban/rural areas, and between areas of different religions. In the more rural and Sunni or Shia Muslim areas women generally are treated as less equal, with restrictions placed upon work and education. Generally the father or husband has a very dominant role.

On the other hand in Dabadi Muslim or Christian areas of the country the situation is much closer to 4 with women being much better treated in public life and much more independent professionally and financially. The situtation improves even more in urban areas and wealthier areas.

Amongst all religious communities, with the exceptions of more secular middle class Christian women, there is a great deal of pressure applied on voting habits as the Woolzistan political system is confessional in nature which allows men greater influence as key religious figures or heads of households.

In fact any enforcement of beliefs that trends into:
5 Women are the gender who is on top here, if anything it is the males who are oppressed.
Is in fact illegal and unconstitutional across the empire and in the Imperial Crown Holdings.

4.5: .5 because there is a preference for women being the ruler in the kingdom, other than that is equal.

While women enjoy almost as much freedom as men do, they usually don't in some more conservative patches of the country and of society.

In Garmurina, women take physical jobs while men take sedentary jobs. Men aren't allowed in the military. Women, on average, are far more powerful than men. Men dominate in business, but other than that, women rule Garmurina.

1, women are not allowed to vote, receive inheritance, or work in a job outside of those their husband approves. They are also not allowed to have sex out of marriage on pain of death and abortions are outlawed on pain of death likewise.

Vallermoore wrote:(I say on average because every country with women has it's woman haters and those who love women.)

0-Your country has no genders for whatever reason

1-more or less as beasts of burden or worse. Women living in your country are more or less living in a hell, with no or very few rights, and their lives are miserable.

2-Things are a little better, but not by much. Women may get paid jobs, but these are low paid and generally hard, unpleasant or both. Women are deemed legally inferior to males in every way. There are a few males who do treat women well, and loving couples do exist but they are rare.

3 If the country is a democracy, women do have the vote, and they have at least a chance of getting decent jobs, but sexual harassment is rife. Domestic violence is illegal, but not that many offenders are convicted.

4 Women are legally equal with males, and domestic violence, sexual crimes and sexism are strongly cracked down on, but there are hidden pockets of sexism around.

5 Women are the gender who is on top here, if anything it is the males who are oppressed.

Vallermoore is a 3.5, there are laws to protect women, but some offenders to get away with breaking them.

4 as it should be. The domestic violence, sexual crimes and sexism (unless it is in speech) are not tolerated by either sex.

Yulis is easily 4 or above. While there is male dominance in positions, women are not restricted in any way more than men are - it is just that more women would prefer to raise children over being the CEO of a big supermarket chain or something. Women tend to be paid the same as men (while there is fluctation, men and women on average are paid identically for the same jobs - in some cases, men are paid more, in others, women). There is no additional sexual harassment that women receive that men don't. Yulis does not have many problems with domestic or sexual violence - and both victims and perpetrators are just about evenly spread among the two genders (another other genders are statistically negligible). There are indeed pockets of sexism - but this has largely disappeared in the last fifty years and many of the notoriously conservative and sexist areas are now no more so than the national average.
HI! *waves furiously*

On that stated rating scale, at the minimum, a strong 4 slowly edging towards a 5 in certain instances.

Ex 1. Women in the Commonwealth Kingdom have had paid maternity leave since the 1970s, while men only gained that small legal standing within the last decade.

Ex 2. The military recognizes no difference between male and female soldiers.

4.35 There is no legal discrimination based on gender allowed. Some domestic violence and some discrimination that is unable to be prosecuted as there is too little evidence. As well as sometimes females are the ones who abuse or discriminate against males.
