Is English an official language in your nation (de facto or de jure)?
No. Satterthwaite has only one official language: Satterthwaitean.

Which type of English (American, British, etc) is most commonly spoken?
British English, as a rule, has been the English taught by the universities of Satterthwaite; however, there has evolved a certain English known as Satter-English, a "dialect" which mixes Satterthwaitean with English. The two types of English are the most, and some say only, spoken types of English in Satterthwaite.

How many native speakers of English does your nation have?
Approximately 13,000 people speak it as a native language.

How much is English taught in your nation's schools?
Not much at all, compared to other languages. The teaching of English isn't required by curriculum and English, as a language, ranks quite lowly in the list of languages chosen for students' Foreign Language requirement. The most popular languages are often French, Latin, and German.

Do your nation's citizens understand enough English to have conversations in English?
Depending on the demographic. A study released by the University of Inljoń regarding the correlation of language to social standing has found that almost only the nobility possess full fluency in English. The rest might hold up on their own, though it's very unlikely.

Is English language media widely available?
Not really. It's there if you want to look for it, but few people ever do.

Is English an official language in your nation (de facto or de jure)?

No. While it IS taught in schools, it's not considered an important language. In a country where you need over a dozen just to communicate with everyone, Italian is used as the lingua franca, with few other foreign languages spoken.

Which type of English (American, British, etc) is most commonly spoken?

British English is used when spoken, for the most part, due to Britannic influences on the country early in its history.

How many native speakers of English does your nation have?

About 2% of the population are native speakers of English, or about 1.6 million sapients

How much is English taught in your nation's schools?

Language courses of 2-3 years in length are offered in all primary and secondary schools. An high school, 5 years are offered. There are extended classes in universities, but English is not considered an important language to learn.

Do your nation's citizens understand enough English to have conversations in English?

No. Most citizens can understand "hello," "goodbye," but little else. If you want to converse with our citizens, you'll have to use Italian.

Is English language media widely available?

No. English-language media is allowed to broadcast, though only one domestic source produces english-language news.

Is English an official language in your nation (de facto or de jure)?

English is an official language in Thesybith, alongside Biti, the traditionally spoken language of former nations Thesamal and Bythou.

Which type of English (American, British, etc) is most commonly spoken?

The English dialect spoken by the native Thesybithi population more closely resembles British English than American English but nonetheless is its own dialect known as Bit-lish, which often combines words and phrases from both languages interchangeably in day to day speech. An example of this being, the phrase, 'Good Morning' more often than not been said as 'Good Mærl' (Gud MAR-luh)

How many native speakers of English does your nation have?

Approximately 90% of the population of 141 million can speak English at an adequate level to hold conversation, or approximately 127 million. The rest of the population usually has some level of proficiency with the language, given that 9 out of 10 individuals speak it.

How much is English taught in your nation's schools?

English is taught alongside Biti in schools, up until the final year of secondary school where only Biti is mandatory. Since Biti is still spoken by more people than English it is the main language used by professors in post-secondary schools. However, by the time students are at their final year in secondary school is it almost guaranteed they can speak it fluently.

Do your nation's citizens understand enough English to have conversations in English?

As stated earlier, 9 out of 10 individuals are essentially fluent or semi-fluent in the language, enough to have conversations in English, while about 5% more can understand it but can't necessarily reciprocate well enough to be considered a proper conversation. The remaining 5% either speak and understand it quite poorly or do not speak or understand it at all.

Is English language media widely available?

Since English and Biti are used essentially as common as another, yes, English media is widely available to the population.

De facto yes. Our national language is Latin, but is spoken in sparse pockets of communities.

Which type of English (American, British, etc) is most commonly spoken?

Australian English.

Roughly two thirds of the nation learn English as a native language, another 30% learnt Italian due to immigration, and the rest are hard-core Catholics who believe solely in Latin.

How much is English taught in your nation's schools?

It is not. It is home-schooled by parents. Free classes are given to people of all ages every day of the week funded by taxes, but Latin is the official school language. German is learnt as the secondary foreign language, with an option to take French or Italian later in life. There are no examinations or classes in English.

Do your nation's citizens understand enough English to have conversations in English?

Yes, almost all.

Is English language media widely available?

The second-biggest national news network, CFSTV7, is solely English-language programming. American ventures have allowed Comcast to settle and BBC were given tax breaks.
