This is the Douglas DC-8-62, an aircraft used by national flag carrier Air Letrastan from 1967 to 2014, shown here in the airline's current (since 2012) livery. Although Air Letrastan purchased several 757-200s to replace the DC-8, the airline is amazingly planning to bring a few of these almost-50-year-old planes back into service this year, as the 757 simply doesn't have the range needed for the lesser-demand long haul flights that are an integral part of Air Letrastan's network.

Nice work. It has a very British aesthetic to it. Did you run this through SpringSharp by any chance? I'm interested in the displacement, how thick the belt armor is... and how much SHP you needed to get 35 knots out of a hull like that

I did give Springsharp a go, but gave up half way in as I didn't know what it was asking for. For comparison to RL designs it's probably closest to the Japanese heavy cruisers (Takao, Mogami, etc...) hull/power wise.

Currently I'm illustrating an in-canon "paper project" for a heavy cruiser with 4x2 250mm L/55 and 200mm armor... it was never built, but I wonder if the more modest design it evolved into would be a match for your cruiser class. Undergunned, but possibly better armored.

It certainly would be interesting to watch, although to be fair mine is a bit of a hodgepodge, I'm not even sure if I even have the correct radars.


1: 2 x Type 274. Main armament ranging and shot-spotting set.
2: Navigation radar? Type 268 I think.
3: 1 x Type 277 aerial, Target indication, search and height finding.
4: Again looks like a navigation radar, Type 293?
5: 1 x Type 279, Early warning radar
6: 3 x Mk.3 rangefinder with Type 285. Fire-control for 4" AA and Bofors 40mm.

retouched an older weapon, mostly to upset a friend who's in the process of turning it into a 3D model.

The M8 Electromagnetic Discharge Capacitor Accelerator (commonly known as the "Emm-decka" or just "Tauxie") does much what it says in the name. Charged capacitors are accelerated by a gauss coil array, and discharge on impact. The EMP so produced causes a stunning effect, as well as overloading any augmetics the user may have that are inadequately shielded.

This weapon is favoured by bouncers and independent law enforcement, who are usually unable to acquire the kind of military particle weapons that possess a stun option.

The Davidson DA-9 Gyrfalcon is a mid-sized airliner produced in Letrastan since 1966. It is now available in 2 different product lines for 2 different types of customer.
The -20 series features composite construction, two high-bypass turbofan engines, and a glass cockpit, making it ideal for airlines that operate from longer, paved runways, and are willing to sacrifice a little bit of reliability in favor of fuel efficiency and reduced noise.
The -10 series, the original, features aluminum construction and three low-bypass turbofan engines. It delivers unparalleled reliability, and is very powerful, allowing it to operate out of small airfields with grass or gravel runways. All Letrastani airlines which have chosen the Gyrfalcon have ordered the -10 series, as the -20 series is primarily intended for the export market.
