Internet does exist in Welskerland, but most people do not use it since it is still relatively new to the nation.

There are companies that provide Internet, but they are all privately owned.

This nation does reflect my IRL views unless something is more interesting to differ from what I believe otherwise. For example, Welskerland is a constitutional monarchy, while I prefer a republic IRL.

Internet access through non-satellite sources is only available on 7 islands. Most users share their wi-fi with neighbors for a small charge and thus our number of customers portrays us as having a low usage number.

The Internet in Nationale Einheit is referred to as the Interlink and is extremely resilient and widespread. Both the private and public industries are involved in operations and the Interlink is always being upgraded. The main domains used in Nationale Einheit are .gov.nne, .nne, .edu.nne and .mil.nne and others are available upon request and approval by the Ministry of Information according to the National Interlink Code that was passed by the Senate.

89.3% of Hyfling has internet, with the largest provider being HyFI Telecom followed by Northern Telecom (a part of the state-owned energy giant, Northern Generating Networks), United Communications (UniCom) and Murchison Fiber. Hyfling's internet connection quality is generally very good, though varied, with areas such as West Hyfling and the Capital District receiving the best in fiber optics, and Aurelia and Central Hyfling receiving the worst.

The average internet speed is 36 mbps and the most common connection is through ADSL2+ and HFC cable (which also provides TV).

Hyfling's TLD is .hy but given the size of Hyfling, in both area and population the nation is considered a union of countries for the sake of simplicity, some of the larger nation-sized states have their own TLD such as Murchison (.mur) West Hyfling (.wes) and the Hyfling Capital District (.hcd) An average Hyflingian url may look similar to this: xyzcompany.com.hy.mur

The internet is relatively free, but a select few websites (such as those promoting terrorism or hosting child pornography) are blocked.

Due to the Mandicorian nation having a massive GDP, the entire nation has access to government-provided internet. It's average speed is around 700 kbps, while private ISPs tend to have speeds around 16 mbps. The government takes a mostly open attitude to the state of internet affairs, and defends the idea of "Net Neutrality". However, the "Deep Net" is constantly searched by Government agencies in order to prevent crime and terrorism.

Internet is widespread in Pacifica, with up to 98% of the population using it daily. All cities have government free wifi, (though in big cities it is slow, and data plans and things to access the web provided by companies, the 2 largest are Chime and NTWF) and since many people are addicted to the strange game known as "NationStates", the internet if plentiful. The Pacifican Government supports internet for all, net neutrality, and anti censorship laws. The Pacifican domain name is .pac. Many businesses put it at the end of .com, (like blahblah.com/pac) and .state.pac is state owned, and .gov.pac is Goverment.

At least 80% of Tolmakians have internet. Most internet providers are privatized, while a fair percentage is government-provided (these services being in highly populated urban areas like the capital, Meddli and the biggest city, Menlani). Tolmakia's TLD is .tm.

Internet in Tolmakia is relatively free from government regulation (except of course for some certain sites like porn sites, and the deep web). Ironically, the best and fastest internet services can be found in the north where most Tolmakians don't use internet.

Tolmakia's prominent internet service providers are: TomSkape, BroCom and FIESTAnet.

As a non-Swede: is that good or bad?

Rejistania has made internet a right for its citizens, but only at 10 kb/s, which was a lot when the country was emerging, but these days is... quite substandard. As such, while Konihekta JSK has to provide everyone with 10kb/s dialup free of charge, you can pay for faster internet access. Many people do, but you cannot get a lot of speed, because often the lines just aren't there. The ISPs run on very tight margins as the competition in the dialup sector is fierce an thus the money to get the country to fiber is just lacking. Instead of upgrading the lines, various tricks like image compression and various non-standard transmission standards allow the dialup users in areas with better lines up to 2MB/s. But even if you live in a broadband area, the speed you are going to get is not what you expect: The fastest private internet connection has 20 MB/s and belongs to the CEO of the ISP Konihekta. On the plus side: internet access in the nation is dirt cheap and "up to X kb/s" kind of contracts not allowed, also, there is no censorship and the copyright terms being short as they are a lot of [highly compressed] legal downloadsof entertainment material.

The datanet that covers the republic is based on optic cables for planetside landlines connected to HyperPulse Generators that provide a real-time FTL communications link between stations.

The usual method of access to the internet is via a wireless connection with 100 zettabyte connection speed.

10 yottabyte landline connections are also available but they tend to mostly be used by computer enthusiasts and businesses.

The Datanet doesn't use domain names so we do not have an official top level domain. However in countries that have a communications treaty and a datanet to internet converter station our datanet content is usually assigned the .nn or .ndn top level domain.

The Sovereign Empire has a developed and robust internet infrastructure with an average download speed of 1Gb/second with a penetration rate of 98.9%. In high density metropolitan areas such as Rien-Stadt, C.D.R. or Marlenne, VDSL is the most common DSL which allows faster internet speeds. This contrasts greatly in smaller metropolitan areas such as Pietarsaari or Karlskrona where ADSL is the standard. In 2006, 98.7% of all mobile phones have internet access. High speed broadband is provided through a communications network built in 2007 consisting of kilometres of optical fibre networks and satellite-based communications.

There are presently four major Internet Service Providers and at least 326 registered minor Internet Service Providers.

In major cities, 4G LTE is the most common network technology in the country's wireless broadband network. Many public places and restaurants are mandated by law to provide free WiFi access during business hours.

Despite all the measures to advance internet technology in the Sovereign Empire, the incumbent right-wing coalition government is criticized for its restrictions on freedom of speech and expression. This followed the ban on certain websites and social media accounts containing or accused of spreading anti-royalist, republican and far-left ideologies. With the new legislation designed the curb cyberbullying and increase police powers set to take effect this autumn, several backbencher Patriotic People's Front MCEs pushed for a proposal to stamp out anonymity. This proposal was later unanimously rejected by the government and the opposition parties following the first reading.

The country code top-level domain in the Sovereign Empire is .gs. Second level domains such as ser.gs and co.gs are used by the government and businesses respectively.

Of the twelve commercial zones, internet access is widely free through public WiFi "nets" in eleven zones, ensuring complete coverage over the entire zone. These "free" connections are throttled to a speed of 2 Mbps upload and 1.2 Mbps download.

Land line connections are available to be purchased to any apartment or house outside of Commercial Zone 1, to a maximum possible speed of 25 Mbps. Commercial Zone 1 is considered a highly sensitive zone, and internet is only available to the individual corporate acropolises via dedicated fiber backbone. Company traffic is closely and carefully guarded, and any unauthorized access from company networks is punishable with heavy fines and possible jail time.

Internet is a state provided service deemed necessary to the facilitation, operation, and advancement of a modern society. Even for families/individuals/businesses that haven't signed up for a specified package, the government provides basic fiber optic services to any and all households at a rate of 25 mb/s download and 5 mb/s upload, free of charge. Even if a dedicated fiber optic connection is not available or is removed from the household at owner's discretion, wireless 'hotspots' have 98.7% national coverage, and near 100% coverage in dense urban zones.

Internet traffic is not monitored at any level by any LEA, making Gawdzendia a popular place for deepnet site storage, file storage services, cloud server systems, and bittorrent search engines. The largest server farm in the country, 'RAID Prime', is located four stories below the Gawdzendian Telecommunications Authority (GTA) offices in Adonia City, and is a twelve story facility with each floor covering 126,000 square feet.

Lacking much in the terms of any real 'national media agency', much of the entertainment Gawdzendians enjoy are from abroad, and high speeds are necessary for the variety of streaming services or bittorent engines one can sign up for.

The general populace is barred from using the Internet. We were originally planning to remove the internet from the Imperialist Territories altogether though we eventually kept it since we deemed it vital for communication between the government workers.
