Internet in Tolmakia is relatively free from government regulation (except of course for some certain sites like porn sites, and the deep web). Ironically, the best and fastest internet services can be found in the north where most Tolmakians don't use internet.

As a non-Swede: is that good or bad?


Rejistania has made internet a right for its citizens, but only at 10 kb/s, which was a lot when the country was emerging, but these days is... quite substandard. As such, while Konihekta JSK has to provide everyone with 10kb/s dialup free of charge, you can pay for faster internet access. Many people do, but you cannot get a lot of speed, because often the lines just aren't there. The ISPs run on very tight margins as the competition in the dialup sector is fierce an thus the money to get the country to fiber is just lacking. Even if a dedicated fiber optic connection is not available or is removed from the household at owner's discretion, wireless 'hotspots' have 98.7% national coverage, and near 100% coverage in dense urban zones.

Internet traffic is not monitored at any level by any LEA, making Gawdzendia a popular place for deepnet site storage, file storage services, cloud server systems, and bittorrent search engines.
