The Franki are descendents of the Old Frankish tribes that peopled the island in the middle ages. They are the majority (65% of the pop.)

The Germani are descendents of German immigrants that arrived from the Holy Roman Empire in the Medieval times.

The Hugi are descendents of French Huguenots that arrived in Altostrania to escape persecution. Today their religion is the main religion of Altostrania, but the term "Hugi" only refers to the direct descendants of the original settlers.

The Hispa are descendents of Spanish and Catalan sailors who stationed on Altostrania during its brief rule by the Spanish Crown (1792 - 1804)
