Then German influence caused Nekronian to die out and be replaced by that, and then during the 20th century the language changed to English. Most of the old-timers have German as a first language and English as a second, and the newer generations have English as their first language and may or may not bother to learn German.

Practically none of the commoners speak Latin, and mostly Xarcanian is spoke. However, some English and Arabic is used as well.

The majority of the population speak English. In fact, all over the country, road signs and other important stuff are either in the English language or have a translation underneath.

However, in the southeast of the country, in the tract (which is basically like a district or a region) of Nuevo Paraíso, Spanish is mainly spoken. Spanish was also mainly spoken in Valledorado but, due to the closing down of the mines and citizens moving away, it has been overtaken by English as the most commonly spoken language in the tract.

On Rosetta Island (where English is also spoken) and the Elephant Isles (Bruirn, Kruhl and New Sark; although Bruirn is the only inhabited island out of the three), a language called Iyilim - pronounced "ee-yeel-eem" - is spoken, mostly by the natives (who are also called Iyilim). The word "iyilim", meaning "islanders", originally came from the words "iyil" and "lim", which mean "island" and "land" respectively. There are a few Iyilim on the mainland as well.
