Fordorsian Sappers have always been under strict orders to keep their tools is perfect condition. Though it's an outdated and uncommon practice, commanding officers are authorised to inflict any punishment they see fit if a tool is found to not be perfectly clean and sharpened, within the bounds of common law of course. (no torture, assault, etc)
Oh and Sappers are permitted by law to eat with their knives at any occasion, military or civilian.
Individuals attempting to enter Ghost, as a final test, are given a sole round of 7.92x57mm IS and a pair of underwear and are told to remain undetected. Undetected from what? They are dropped off at the northern-most point of the border of Spreewerke and are given a week to collect various items in certain cities and then report to the unit commander at the southern-most point of the border of Spreewerke. The entire time they must avoid being recognized by any training personnel who are guarding the items, as well as a squad of current Ghost who are dropped into the field 12 hours after the trainee is dropped off. Their goal is to find the trainee.
Upon completing this journey, the trainee is then required to show that they still possess the 7.92x57mm IS cartridge, that it has not been damaged or corroded, and they must then use whatever items they've picked up on their way to pull the bullet from the casing, dump the powder, and then snort said line of powder. If they aren't killed by performing this task, they are inducted into Ghost.
I'll make top-page porn a photo of a Ghost member:
