I've just got done designing a battle-rifle/service-rifle for my armed forces' infantry via PMG. I've gotten some criticism before about my rifles looking too clunky or over-complicated, so I've been fixin' to change that. Give me some feedback.

Why is the magazine so far forward?

Are you sure people can reach the GL from the where they are standing?

It's just how it turned out, honestly. PMG can be an unwieldy beast.

Technology improves exponentially, so I guess it could be plausible.

My biggest problem would be how they would actually engage targets. Much like self driving military vehicles, can they spot a suspicious looking person a few hundred metres away or encounter anything out of the ordinary and think about how to deal with the situation as a Human would? I doubt it.

I guess he means Humanoids of similar size to actual Humans. I'm not sure any other style of robot could replace infantry.

I'd bet money that most people couldn't either, without first being taught what to look for. Otherwise, that suspicious looking man down the way is just a tweaker/schitzo/chav, and that bit of rubbish is merely a sad symbol of how lazy today's youth are, as opposed to a bomb.
