Saurisia experienced a second war against the United Dinosaur Reich (in which it was defeated and annexed), ended the Al-Shahrir Insurgency with resounding success, saw the ending of two Presidential administrations and the rise of two more in their place, Saurisia establish ties with multiple nations outside of its traditional circle of friends.

In the last 10 years for Gandoor (which would be 2009-2019) were like this:
- Prime Minister Reginald D. McFatton finished his first term as Prime Minister and was elected to his second term in 2012
- Prime Minister Nikolai Olanovich Semenov was elected Prime Minister in 2018
- We recovered from our economic slump which had been affecting Gandoor since 2006

Other than those things and general advancement of technology, Gandoor was basically the same 10 years ago as it is now.

Well...

Early on Greater Mackonia prehaps enjoyed one of its greatest but most overlooked triumphs in history by finally overcoming the historcal spectre of famine that had haunted Mackonians for generations. A combination of rigorous agricultural modernisation, forced collectivisation* and aggressive use of cloning and GM crops led to Mackonia becoming almost self-sufficient (or at least sustainable) in food around 2002 and thusfar famine has stayed in the history books.

The more public specter of limited privatisation was probably what defined this decade for most Mackonians, although the process of privatisation had begun in the 1970s the state only really got confident with the market by the mid 2000s. State Capitalism became the buzzword of the decade as Macks timidly embraced the joys and pitfalls of the free market while desperately clinging to their free Healthcare and Education.

However economic and technological change were not matched by political change, Greater Mackonia remained a secretive authoritarian state ruled by a militaristic leadership still militantly championing their bizarre mix of Marxist-Leninism and vitriolic Stratocratic Ultranationalism. Mackonia faced war when in 2011 the government began to take a new hardline approach to the specter of international Ponyism, followed by harsh measures against Mackonia's hitherto ignored Pony population. This attracted the ire of numerous Pony populations and the crises was only resolved when Mackonia's entire Pony population was deported to Crystal Spires and Yellowapple. The so-called 'Pony Wars' have left a bad legacy of xenophobia and speciesism among the usually pretty inclusive (when it comes to other species) Mackonian people.

However the greatest changes have only happened recently, when Premier Sikasith was killed in 2013 and Mackonia suddenly awoke from the dream of State Socialism, Democracy ushered in exciting new political freedoms that turned Mackonia into a powerhouse of competing ideas and culture however the cost was economic and political chaos as the new regime failed to control this tempest of ideals. Finally elements of the Old Regime staged a coup in July 2014 which in turn led to a civil war between supporters of the Democratic Government and supporters of the Coup.

*Has different meanings in Mackonia, essentially grouping the formerly 'common' ground into enclosed estates, a process that first caused terrible disorder and famine but boosted productivity in the long term.

1985- Growing opposition to the Vanguard party in reaction against its restrictive social policies and extensive propaganda campaign. Each revelation of the Vanguard's lies adds energy to the resistance. Anachrodelphia emerges as a center of anti-establishment activity.
1986- Second counterculture begins with a series of protests in Anachrodelphia and quickly spreads throughout the Democratic Republic, assisted by newly developed technology for mass information dispersal like the compact disk and widespread ownership of televisions. Focuses on the attributes believed to be missing from Vanguard Democratic Republic: peace, love, freedom, individuality, happiness, and spirituality.
1987- The second counterculture spreads even beyond the scale of the first, becoming a major political force. Vanguard loses control of Anachrodelphia. A few violent confrontations, future uncertain.
1988- Great Ignition. A few ministers from the Democratic Republic's illegal Christian minority embark on an energetic evangelistic campaign within the counterculture: grows far beyond their efforts into an unstoppable social phenomenon. By 1999, nearly the entire counterculture has converted to Christianity.
Political upheaval in the months immediately following the Great Ignition, as dozens of factions form within the counterculture and contend for dominance, Vanguard struggles to respond to the situation. Marginalism (a form of Christian anarchism) constructed and advocated by a group called the Thirteen Disciples.
By December 1988, marginalism has emerged as dominant. All seven of the most influential counterculture groups, hereafter called Polymarginal groups, swear fealty to the cause.
1989- Marginals develop advanced political organization. The counterculture, now called Marginalism, continues to grow and gain influence throughout the Democratic Republic.
1990- A general election is held in which the Marginal Party competes on the platform of dissolving the republic, loses. In September, Vanguard brutally cracks down on Marginalism. Tens of thousands die in a period of months. In retaliation, Marginals begin an intense and highly coordinated effort against the democratic republic, which comes to be called the Cultural War.
1991- In the first month of January, with approval ratings dropping below ten percent, daily protests by Marginals and riots by their own people in all major cities, mass boycotts of their elections and refusal to follow their laws, Vanguard becomes terrified that a revolution which will bring done societism and return to traditional democracy is imminent. After several months of conflict, the Vanguard brokers an agreement with the Polymarginal groups called the Anachrodelphia concession: in exchange for peace, the parts of Anachrodelphia which the Democratic Republic has no hope of reclaiming without killing every man, woman and child are recognized as an independent micronation, and safe passage to this nation by marginals within the Democratic Republic is not to be restricted. Cultural war officially ceases, though in realty conflict continues. Dawnguard forms in opposition, claiming that the Vanguard is illegitimate and the Marginals should have been exterminated.
1992- Legal ramifications of the Anachrodelphia concession begin to be felt. Several nations, including France, England, and Louisiana officially recognize Margno, even threatening war if the Democratic Republic resumes its "marginal genocide," (as the cultural war comes to be known internationally.) The Democratic Republic's plans to annex Louisiana are considered to have been thwarted. Meanwhile, Russia condemns the marginals and becomes increasingly hostile to the Democratic Republic.
Cultural Warfare continues in the shadows, Margno leading the massive and now more permanent marginal counterculture within the Democratic Republic. Six times more marginals live outside of Margno than in it.
Violetists infiltrate Margno, are turned.
1993- The Order of Violet sends more agents to Margno, they are killed to the last man by a plague to which Marginals have superior immunity from living in tight quarters.
Margno finishes development of nuclear power, a project made possible by nuclear physicists who defected from other nations immediately following the Anachrodelphia concession.
Dispute arises between Catholic sympathizing marginals, led by Madonnids, and Protestant sympathizing marginals, led by Nightingales and Subjectivists. All Polymarginal groups take a side. Resolution is eventually reached: all marginals accept Immaculate Conception, Sola Gracia, Sola Fide, and Sola Christus, reject intermediaries in salvation, reject Calvinism.
1994- Marginal Party wins 31% of the vote in Democratic Republic general election, up from its previous 25%. Margno hosts Olympics.
1995- Present day.
Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

-We went from being sixty-some million people on spacecrafts to about 90 million maintaining a territory on land
-We have seen an increase in species diveristy
-We've made the University of Neue Bayreuth private after first establishing it as private
-About a million new patents were granted, only a few to be remembered
-We merged the Foreign Affairs and Economy departments
-We made contact with the rest of the multiverse

Other than that, not too much.
I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

The economy grew rapidly from the 90s with rapid liberalization of the markets, and privatizing many of the state owned corporations. Increased welfare and education spending with further reforms to the national health service. Decreasing taxes for self employed individuals, small companies, and abolishing all forms of VAT.

That's it really. And a continuous power sharing coalition between reformists and social democrats occured in government.

In 2005, the Progressive Party elected Jack Cahill as PM, and he's been PM since then. One year into his tenure, marijuana was legalized, and the nation was hit by the global recession in 2008. Other than that, very little has changed.

Our economy went from being weak to being the most powerful in the world.
Arko-Oklahoma is a Pro-Freemarked pseudo-socialist government that subsidizes citizens and companies alike. While not trying to actually control the economy, the King and the Parliament try to steer it certain directions monetarily. The citizens have an extremely high tax rate, but they have to spend less of what they make on important things, and as a result they tend to have more disposable income than those who live in other countries.
As for civil and political rights, you are afforded unlimited freedom and opportunity as long as it doesn't infringe on the freedom of other. All speech that isn't libelous is protected.
And our foreign policy? Crush those who pose a threat to the Double Monarchy.
To sum it up, we're a weird mix of Socialist and Libertarian ideologies.

Ten years ago, the nobility were nearly universally acting as symbolic heads of regions and worked as judges. At this time there was a growing movement of what is IRL Social Conservatism. At this time the crown prince was alarmed and called for the restoration of the nobility to there constitutional role. Now plurality in both the nobility and the electorate support the crown prince's policies and the social conservatives are down from 40% to 15% of the electorate.

• Rapid economic growth

• GDP and HDI increases along with living standards.

• Political freedoms are better than ever as Yakus becomes a true multi-party state.
