So pampered. US troops get four MREs for three days of patrolling.
Troops in SIACHEN are given some frozen and pickled vegetables and wheat.

They would provide both direct and indirect fires against point targets, and would use a variety of munition types (anti-tank, thermobaric, HE frag, etc.)
Sort of a hybrid between an anti-tank company and a rocket artillery battery.
Imperializt Russia wrote:Half of the point of "OICW", today at least, is that they offer a high-precision capability to engage point targets at long range. This task does not require the firepower of a 40mm system, and allows more ammunition to be carried.

Why are you eating in combat at all.
You eat when your buddy watches your position, so you can eat and not get taken by surprise, when you're done your buddy eats while you cover him.

The second something even remotely wrong happens you drop your food and get ready to get attacked. Even if your meal is now covered in dirt.

Though at that point it is often best to just eject from the discussion.

Hey great, guess what? They are!
FN FCU + M203 + 40mm HEAB.
The US Army realised that 20mm is actually a terrible caliber, and 25mm isn't much better, so it's just going to be putting muzzle devices on 40mm, FCUs on the M16, and using programmable rounds. Same concept, but less risk.
