Circumcision of minors of either sex is outlawed unless medically indicated. There are no exemptions for religions. Once an individual attains adulthood at age seventeen, they are permitted to undergo the procedure if they freely choose to do so. As for prevalence, approximately 2.1% of males and 0.7% of females are circumcised, and the practice of elective circumcision is declining.
