While more confusing gender structures are usually accepted in daily life, this is the sex specification as it appears in passports. "Male" is for individuals with the physical equipment to fertilize, "Female" for those with the equipment to birth, "Hermaphrodite" - yes, they exist around here, feel free to be shocked - for those individuals with both and "N/A" is generally for entities that do not reproduce in any of those ways - most commonly a few types of youkai or ghost. Artificial intelligences do not necessarily fit into N/A considering there are a number of corporations that offer artificial wombs or synthesized genetic source matter necessary to produce a child.
Is sexual intercourse legal? (and age) It's legal. The age of consent is at 16 and can be circumvented if psychological tests confirm the minor to be fully capable of understanding their own decisions.

Is bestiality legal? (and age) No. Generally speaking, the average animal cannot give consent. If the animal happens to show capacity for higher thought processes, they are, in all likelihood, a youkai. Youkai are sentient and the same rules as with normal people apply.

There are segregated public bathrooms for safety reasons, but it is mandatory to provide for every official classification. 'N/A' is usually represented by a few private bathrooms the keys to which can be requisitioned by members of that group considering they might be less than comfortable with other entities that elude classification.
