Thread question. How are curved magazines drawn? My attempts have been failures, and google has been incredibly helpful in finding how to draw a curved line.

I think most people here just draw circles then erase the unneeded parts.
I just avoid using them, myself. PSP9's vector tools aren't great at consistent curves.

Didn't realise there was a typical rule of thumb on that.

I could have sworn there was. I could be misremembering though.

The buttplate to the rear sight was ~23cm - I consider ~100mm to be a suitable grip length (along which one would have their hand) and base my rifles around that figure, ergonomically.

Distance from butplate to the rear of the receiver is 26cm, and grip is 83mm long. Sounds within reason to me.

I drew out the cartridge the weapon fires, then put 10 of them together [for a 20 round mag] following the taper of the cartridge and drew the walls of the mag around that. Got the idea from someone else in the thread, not sure who though.

That's what I thought. I tried, but couldn't get consistent spacing throughout the body.

I just avoid using them, myself. PSP9's vector tools aren't great at consistent curves.

I tried that as well, but either MS paint lacks a means to properly rotate a thing, or I haven't found it yet.

So should I try and make a machine gun using my 9.5x75mm cartridge? I was thinking it would be a limited production thing with equally limited service during the Deep War around 1917, maybe something like the M1895 potato digger.

Yeah. Gave me too much freedom, freaked me out.

Honestly I think you all should switch to Flash. It's very easy to learn and because it's a vector graphics program you can scale it how ever you want and it won't loose quality when exporting. And of course rotation is trivial.

I was wondering would, in your opinion there be any sense in making so, that infantry soldiers can't directly apply, or be send, to in vacancies in heavy weapons company of infantry battalion (or heavy weapons platoons of infantry coy's) from the infantry school, but instead they have to make their way into ranks of junior NCOs in rifle platoons before they can apply into training for heavy weapons units of infantry battalion.

I believe that we do something like that over here, if this is anything to go by. I'd say it makes sense, anyway.

How people have improved since moving to Flash is frankly amazing.

I did actual try flash once. I found it a rather confusing program, and never actually managed to draw a line, let alone a thing.

Flash is more versatile than most, if not every other drawing program everyone else here uses, and everything has a learning curve. Don't start this again.

This is going to sound crazy but I would advise you to look up Macromedia Flash MX from 200-something. After 2005 they were bought up by adobe and the development platform went down hill.

Added some detailing to that Combloc mag that I had. May add more to it. Who knows.

Let me know if you need photo reference. I have 7.62x39mm Euro steels, Chinese steels, Hungarian 20-rounds, and "Bakelites." For 5.45x39mm, I have "Bakelite," plum, one sanitized, and current-production black polymer. I also know a guy that collects 7.62x39mm magazines, and may be able to get some photo refs. off of him if absolutely necessary.

This collection must have cost a bomb.

God dam it. I suck at figuring out trigger mechanisms. I just can't figure out how to make one for my handgun that will work. And yes, I have asked this before. And yes, I have looked at various sources including an animated model of a glock firing. So yea... Help. I tried.

Can anyone point me to any good animations or drawings of striker fired handguns? Other than this one. That one did not help me even though I looked at it all day yesterday.
